The American singer-songwriter Matthew Perryman Jones has released his official music video for "Save You" featuring Jaimie Alexander and Becky Fluke.
The single "Save You" is off Jones's latest third full-length album entitled "Swallow the Sea," teamed up with producer Neilson Hubbard, which showcase Jones' natural feel for wistful vocals that recall the work of Ryan Adams. The album is equally as fiery and powerful and offers a tip of the hat to the vast sound and art-rock lyricism of those bands. That makes this album a totally breathtaking listening experience. "Save You" has been used on ABC's television shows "Kyle XY" and "Private Practice".
There are some people on this earth with soul of a poet. Even if they don't dabble in verse, you recognize them immediately-by a sparkle in the eye, the gentleness of tone, the way they can look at the ordinary and see something extraordinary. Matthew Perryman Jones has such a soul. Following in the footsteps of Leonard Cohen and John Lennon, Jones brings his poetry to life with a rock sensibility and gritty vocals. The entire album is superb.
Jones is a terrific musician and vocalist, he began his career as a singer-songwriter in 1997, and freely admits that he's a child of seminal '80s rock bands such as R.E.M., Pixies, U2, Echo and the Bunnymen. He has been compared to everyone from Leonard Cohen to Counting Crows, from Jeff Buckley to John Lennon. But Joes's spirit-carressing, tender tenor is instantly likeable on its own terms. Jones is currently on tour with Ingrid Michaelson.
