Leona Lewis enjoy Christmas in 'One More Sleep'

Well! It's certainly a very merry Christmas in Leona Lewis' world, as the 28-year-old English songbird has been getting in the holiday spirit lately and has released the music video for her festive new holiday single "One More Sleep," the lead single from her debut Christmas album and fourth studio album, "Christmas, with Love," a ten-track album featuring covers of seven yuletide classics and three originals - came from label boss Simon Cowell, a man who knows that Christmas albums sell by the bucketload in America.
"One More Sleep" is a Motown inspired song and its hook consists of a Christmas countdown, whereby Lewis sings "Cause I got five more nights of sleeping on my own/ Four more days until you're coming home/ Three more dreams of you and mistletoe/ Two more reasons why I love you so." Lewis "trills" the lyrics "I've got five more nights of sleeping on my own/ Four more days until you're coming home" over the Motown inspired beat of xylophone phones and jingle bells. Waiting the return of her partner to come home on Christmas Day, Lewis adopts an "angelic tone" as she sings "Three more dreams of you and mistletoe/ Two more reasons why I love you so."
The wonderfully old-fashioned tune is more heart-warming and sweet than a Christmas pudding, and "One More Sleep" may have narrowly missed landing at No.1 on Sunday but it's entry into the Top 5 had nonetheless made the former X Factor contestant a record breaker. Which means Lewis has more than enough reason to celebrate this Christmas, now that she officially has more Top 5 hits than any other British female solo act in history. "The support from my fans has been tremendous," Lewis told OfficialCharts.com. "I could not do this without them!" The singing sweetheart is making us feel warm and toasty like hot cider this holiday season! Between the adorbzies choreography and her precious vocals, we're about ready to explode with Christmas cheer!
As for the "One More Sleep" video, it's very appropiate. An extra-beautiful Lewis rocking a red lip in the snow and arrives to her cabin in the snowy woods, prepares everything, decorates her sweet holiday home, and welcomes her lovely family and friends, which included her boyfriend Dennis Jauchs. They will have dinner, and exchange gifts on Christmas Eve. Lewis looks certainly breathtakingly stunning. Lewis said the video "came from an idea we did a little while ago where a camera crew came into the studio and shot me and my friend just kinda messing around and just in the studio being me."

Leona Lewis Breaks Free From "Lovebird" Cage

Sometimes you have to break free from the bounds of dysfunctional love to feel liberated and in control of your life once more! As a melancholic Leona Lewis finds her inner-spirit while imprisoned in a birdcage with the stunning new visual for "Lovebird," the second single pulled from her critically acclaimed third emotional LP, "Glassheart," which has yet to be released in the United States. Unsurprisingly the 27-year-old complete with her trademark long ponytail the X Factor winner looks positively at home in the virtual prison.
After a host of dance-infused upbeat numbers, Lewis has gone back to her familiar territory roots with this big power ballad, "Lovebird," which allows her to show off her vocal range to full effect. While it's not the most inspiring or original effort you'll hear this year, it should certainly please the singer's fans. Full of pleading looks, colorful outfits and, perhaps unsurprisingly, dark moody lights and a bird cage, Lewis' latest offering is a sweet midtempo ballad which starts off with a organ-based introduction, similar to that used in Lewis' debut single "Bleeding Love," and is then layered with piano melodies in the chorus which critics compared to those used in her single "Better in Time."
What a catchy, passionate ballad, and it's the perfect tune to blast when feeling stuck or suffocated in a relationship. Although perhaps not an advert for feminism Lewis looks classically beautiful, the British diva looks positively mournful in an ivory sleeved dress and floats in a wrapped ensemble as she finds the strength and courage to set herself free. It gave the video a definite dark side, which suited the "Bleeding Love" singer down to a tee. The liberated flying bird was predictable but it nicely cemented the concept.
Given that the title of the song is "Lovebird," there's a metaphorical theme to this video as Lewis, clad in a long flowing dress and ruffled cape, is seen singing inside a giant cage in a large shadowy room. It's not all doom and gloom though since the caged monochromatic Lewis is intercut with shots of the singer in a bright pink floaty number and jeweled eye decorations. This goes on for quite some time until the Lewis in the cage realizes she isn’t locked in after all, and makes her bid for freedom as a dove soars into the air. All very meaningful, we're sure.

To celebrate the upcoming release, Leona Lewis has turned all hip hop with an exclusive live performance video, a stripped back solo version for her comeback track, "Trouble," which features US rapper Childish Gambino, and serves as the second single for the 27-year-old British singer's third LP, "Glassheart," which will be released in the UK on October 15, and a day later in the US.
Having won the UK version of the X Factor back in 2006, Lewis' new song is a typically emotional song about a failing relationship, and the subject matter suits her voice well. Taking musical inspiration from British trip hop pioneers Massive Attack, "Trouble" is a mid-tempo piano and strings-driven ballad speaking of Lewis' break-up with childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa. It's an anguished epic journey that reveals ethereal, haunting tones and chilling falsetto added with a modern twist of rap that simultaneously showcase the sheer power and intimacy of Lewis' incredible talent. The song was powerful, it's heartfelt and it confirms Lewis as one of the most remarkable vocalists of the day.
Lewis explained the aim and meaning behind "Trouble:" "it tells the story of love going bad and becoming destructive, aspects of which we can all relate to. It's a deeply emotional and poignant song that I have a real connection to." The song has a convincing, compelling and dramatic vocal performance which works brilliantly against its opulent but bleak mid-tempo production. "Trouble" is a return to the "safer" templates of her first two albums, but the song's production is a vaguely trip-hop beat buffeted by soaring strings and a troubled lyric in the chorus.
The smooth acoustic performance was recorded live in a studio in just one take, and was filmed in black and white. The moody video features a stripped vocal performance set against a minimal cello and piano production accompanied by a pianist and a violinist. It's really just a chance for Lewis to show off her impressive soprano over soaring strings without the distraction of a video. And it works well, giving the song a raw and emotional edge. While the original version just about added up to the sum of its individually brilliant parts, the acoustic perhaps even better than the original.

Leona Lewis Hits Us With Her "Collide" Video

As summer is getting close to the end, Leona Lewis is invited to enjoy the last few moments of it with a brand new video for her surprisingly upbeat new single "Collide," the first track to be taken from British singer's upcoming third studio album, "Glass Heart." The pretty faced, strong voiced British songstress spends all day long on the beach and enjoys the warm weather with some friends one last time, as she belts "Crash into me, we can collide!"
The dance tune "Collide" is a departure from the anthemic ballads that made Lewis famous. It features an instrumental from Swedish DJ Avicii's a club track "Penguin." When the song first came out, Lewis was accused of illegal sampling. After exchanging words of accusation and denial with the disc jokey, Lewis and Avicii eventually reached an agreement and the single was released as a collaboration under both artists' names before the case was due to be heard at the high court in London. Lewis belts out her new single "Collide" with her soaring diva vocals from the sandy shore of a Malibu beach. We're not used to such an upbeat song from the usually very serious and sultry former X Factor contestant, but it seems as though she has jumped on the dance wagon with this Avicii inspired number. The dance-pop anthem finds her taking a more dance pop route than on her previous material. The "Happy" star said, "I'm excited for people to see a different side to my music. I'm a fan of so many different genres and styles. For me this song has all the great ingredients of a summer anthem."
In the Ethan Lader-directed California coast-shot video, Lewis isn't attempting to make any sort of grand statement. Instead, she parks herself at the beach with pals, basking in the sun and pondering not much more than how beautiful the waves look as they break on the shore. The 26-year-old, in her blue polka dot bikini, is splashing around, sitting in a convertible and laughing throughout. With her heavy bangs and captivating stare, the camera pans in on plenty of shots of Lewis singing, since she is easy on the eyes.

It's the moment you've been waiting for, the British singing sensation Leona Lewis has got your back in the legendary Dave Myers-directed video for "I Got You," the second single from her sophomore album "Echo." The storyline follows several young couples who experience in their turbulent love relationship, and was filmed in Venice Beach, California. Lewis's performance in front of a burning heart is also featured in it. "It's a strong, cool performance, lots of actors with a movie feel to it," she recently tweeted about the scene. "I'm so proud of it and hope you love it too - enjoy!"
What is made painfully evident by the video is Lewis is starting to fall into that' seen one video, seen 'em all' set of artists who never really bring anything to write home about when it comes to putting visuals to their music. The much anticipated dramatic video, another one with a good story behind, and Lewis looking gorgeous and stunning as usual. It features clips of many couples going through the ups and downs of love and having arguments, but they all eventually patch things up at the end with images suggesting healing and new relationships.
The 24-year-old vocal mistress might not exactly be Katie Price in the showbiz personality stakes, but things really do seem to change around Lewis in a quite startling way. Which just goes to show what a big talent can do to people. When she first did her version of Snow Patrol's "Run" for the Live Lounge, it felt like a challenge. Here was this defiant reality TV pop star, the girl who turned X Factor's boasts of finding real talent into *cough* reality, singing a well-loved indie song as if it was a Westlife ballad, and making more than a decent fist of it.
By slowing it down, puffing it full of warm air and setting it free to waft over a wintry nation, Lewis made it her own, without killing what people liked about it in the first place. It was, and remains, a good cover version. Lewis being Lewis, she can at least provide some kind of musical movement, by wandering off the path set down by the song, and blazing a new trail using that hooting voice of hers. The big question is whether, for you the listener, this kind of simple, stripped-back songwriting is a hallmark of emotional truth: Lewis certainly sings it as if it is or a really lazy way to put a song together. Even though the video has been on the internet for over a week now I have to post it just because we love the song and video so much! Lewis is true talent and true talent always needs to be recognized.

Leona Lewis Premieres "I See You" For "Avatar"

British pop singer Leona Lewis has exclusive debuted a brand new music video for the theme song "I See You," taken from James Cameron's highly anticipated 3-D science fiction groundbreaking epic film "Avatar," spent $500 million in investment and estimated 12 years in the making, one of the biggest movies of the year, maybe even ever, which opens in theaters worldwide today! "I See You" will be played during the closing credit of the movie, and was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Original Song category for the 67th Golden Globes, held in 2010 for films released in 2009.
Back in November we got the word that James Cameron has tabbed Lewis to close the curtain on "Avatar" with "I See You." The X Factor winner's soundtrack was masterminded by Academy Award winner composer James Horner and Simon Frangle, both of whom worked on produced Celine Dion's Grammy-winning single "My Heart Will Go On" from Cameron's classic movie "Titanic." The Soundtrack represents the feelings shared between Avatar's lead characters, Sam Worthington's Jake Sully and Zoe Saldana's Neytiri, as they walk through the jungle where flowers, trees and the earth glow in the dark. It's very powerful and beautiful.
Director Jake Nava takes the viewers of "I See You" music video to the "Avatar" pandora where exotic creatures live. The video is about sensual archery performed by blue freaks and mashes up footage from the singer's live performance and showcases scenes from James Cameron's latest fairytale. Lewis said in a "making of" video that the song captures "all of the emotion of the film, the love in the film, the strength that the characters have to have. It also has a vulnerable side. The film is about someone opening up another persons eyes to a whole new world, and a new way of thinking."
The soulful singer who just released her sophomore effort, "Echo" is aiming for the success, takes her vocals to a whole new level, hoping to get a huge and smashing hit on her hands. Lewis is a ballad 'queen'. She really kills these slow songs, they're always full of emotion. The song really brought their love story to life. Gorgeous video, and the movie looks amazing, can't wait to see it.
