Kat DeLuna Debuts Video For "Dancing Tonight"

After a long break, Dominicana songstress Kat DeLuna has just premiered the music video for her new feel-good dance single "Dancing Tonight," the third single lifted off her Belgium released-only new sophomore album "Inside Out," which will hit stores stateside sometime this summer and feature more ballads and more singing to show off her powerful operatic voice, rather than just loading the CD with club bangers. The song she has chosen to try and crack the US market again and it has been a radio hit, and was officially released as a single earlier this month on March, 11.
DeLuna launched her career in 2007 with the release of her debut single "Whine Up," which took the world by storm and became a favorite in clubs, making it the biggest hit of the summer. She continued her success with her debut album "9 Lives," followed by her latest "Inside out" album which includes hits like "Unstoppable" featuring rap god Lil Wayne, and "Push Push" with Akon. The 23-year old singer is known for her soprano vocal range! Such a tiny girl with such a powerful voice.
"Dancing Tonight" has debuted as the No.1 Breakout on the Billboard Dance Chart. The DeLuna-styled dance number is already a fan-favorite on YouTube, and is now available for download on iTunes. Dominican songstress chatted to us about her new single "Dancing Tonight," "It's a dance track, but it's very sexy and fun," DeLuna says. "Vocally it's stronger... Musically – it's still the same DeLuna sound, but I'm talking more about girls lives – having fun, but at the same time becoming a woman. I think all my fans are going to be really excited." She actually has a point. It's a really hot dance/club anthem that flaunts a very melodic voice of the DeLuna herself and contains fantastic production elements to make it the perfect track to jam in the clubs this beautiful spring.
DeLuna was one of the first popular artist's to work with RedOne, and her Latin-flavored urban-pop/club sound was very fresh at the time in regards to top forty pop music. The "Whine Up" singer is partying with her own pals in "Dancing Tonight" video, which filmed earlier on December 21-23 at the Milk Studios in New York City. The Dominican diva switched up her fashion in the clip, laying in a bathtub with a patch over her eye and whipping her hair around in a leotard in another scene. As you'll see, DeLuna puts on her dancing shoes and glams up for the feel-good anthem of the year! Love the little salsa break in the middle, right before the rap by Fo Onassis!

Ricky Martin: "The Best Thing About Me is You"

Broadway bound Ricky Martin is definitely mellowing out in his old age. The Latin heartthrob continued his comeback and just dropped his first video in several years, for "The Best Thing About Me Is You," the lead cut from Puerto-Rican pop crossover's upcoming ninth studio and first bilingual album, "Music+Soul+Sex" which is set for release on February 1. The feel-good vibed song features British soul powerhouse Joss Stone, and in the video, Martin sports an equality symbol on his chest and the video shows loving couples from all walks of life celebrating their differences. A Spanish version of the tune featuring Natalia Jiminez is also being offered.
"The Best Thing About Me Is You," is an upbeat tropical bluesy happy-go-lucky track in the vein of Jason Mraz with so full of positive energy. The words and tempo are upbeat and Martin/Stone voices are great together. It's a lighthearted tune where his "allergy to tragedy" is accompanied by a smiling rainbow of faces. It's clear that the new single and video from Martin is a deeply personal statement for him since coming out about his homosexuality by telling Oprah last November. It offers a clear, heartwarming message about inclusion that, quite frankly, in these divisive times, can never be stressed enough. Martin is very entitled to make a statement, and this one comes with an easy to swallow, lilting melody.
Recently filmed in Miami by Carlos Perez, the video portrays positivity and freedom from beginning to end. It's a relentlessly earnest and upbeat song and clip. The simple video, shot primarily against a white or black background often with equality scribblings in a black marker, features people of all different races, religions and sexual orientation. Of course, the unifying feature is that they're all stunningly gorgeous and straight from a modeling agency. If there was ever a well-intentioned clip, this is it. By the end, the multitudes are all together, gently swaying back and forth with Martin. And Stone does not appear in the video.
Martin was one of the biggest teen idols in Latin America during the '90s and a major figure in American pop music by the end of the decade, but struggled to maintain an international chart presence. Now the unlikely couple have joined forces on "The Best Thing About Me Is You." This isn't anything groundbreaking from the Latin heartthrob. More like nice dinner party music. Still, the addition of Stones warm vocals here gives the song a nice touch. Desmond Child, who is producing Martin's new album, tells that "I'm really excited about the music, the content, because since he's come out it's unleashed his creativity and the scope of what he can sing about and say and do. Once he opened that door, a floodgate of energy and creativity just really exploded."

Shakira Goes From Waka Waka To "Loca" Video

Latin pop star Shakira has finally premiered the video for her latest single, "Loca," the catchy song is the lead single from her upcoming bilingual studio album "Sale El Sol/The Sun Comes Out," which is due October 19 in US. Two versions of the song were released, one in Spanish, that features vocals from El Cata, and one in English that features vocals from British grime rapper Dizzee Rascal.
Shakira is 'Loca' for a guy! Over horn-heavy merengue beats and techno dance percussion, the hip-knocking Colombian delivers her interpretation of El Cata's "Loca Con Su Tiguere," fervently singing about being erratic for a guy, more so than his other leading lady: "She's tied to your love / But your love's only mine, boy." While Shakira lures in her man with Loca's hypnotic chorus, Dizzee delivers a notable rap interlude and skittering rhymes, affirming that he is, in fact, enraptured by a "crazy girl."
Shakira really knows how to make a sexy music video! The Jaume de Laiguana-directed video's urban locale is a little grittier than what you've seen from the Colombian superstar, with her skating, motorcycling and dancing through traffic and gawking fans in Spain's famed city before making a very public costume change. Why is Shakira going wild in the streets of Barcelona? Originally she planned to shoot another glittery production for "Loca," her new duet with Dizzeel, but then did something a little crazy and let Dizzee direct. The version used in the video is the JS Mix and she shot the video in a bikini top and gold hip-huggers that exposed her well-toned backside.
The "fun-filled" music video is different from Shakira's previous clips most of which are usually big-budgeted affairs. There's a calculated madness to the "Loca" video, a vibrant, unchained energy, the kind very few artists can conjure up, no matter how big the budget. And, come to think of it, that's a pretty accurate way of summing up Shakira's entire career. For nearly two decades now, either due to her multinational leanings or because she is sort of insane, Shakira has managed to carve out her own, rather indefinable niche in the pop music.

Rihanna's Steamy "Te Amo" Video Sneaked Out

With only a few days after music video for fourth US single "Rockstar 101" made its debut, another clip for Barbadian singer Rihanna's third international single "Te Amo" has exclusively sneaked out from Germany, and it definitely keeps with the "Rated R" theme. The four-minute steamy visual takes a look at the "Unfaithful" hitmaker in intimate scenes with dark-haired French supermodel Laetitia Casta and getting close to the Spanglish tune.
The daring scenes portray the heterosexual Barbadian singer as a leather clad dominatrix, kissing and striking suggestive poses with Laetitia Casta. The 22-year-old singer is seen sharing steamy scenes and romancing her on-screen same-sex lover while wearing lacy lingerie in the video which has not been officially shown in the US. The lyrics for the song "Te Amo" are about sapphic desires for a woman.
The new song "Te Amo" (English: "I Love You") is about a sexualized encounter between Rihanna and co-star Laetitia Casta, who gets hot and heavy with Rihanna. So you knew that angle was going to be played up in this video. I quite like the castle/pleasure dungeon theme of the video and the lighting creates a nice mood to fit the song. "Te Amo" is a personal album highlight so it's already much better to me than "Rockstar 101" in that regard. Digital Spy stating that "After the rather explicit 'Rude Boy' campaign, Rihanna's taking a well-deserved break from titillating the blokes here - only to find herself the object of another lady's affections. One of her Rated R LP's less menacing moments, 'Te Amo' finds La Fenty grappling with her sexuality over some irresistible, latin-infused Stargate beats."
The Anthony Mandler-directed video was shot late of April at the grounds of the 15th century castle of the Chateau de Vigny, which is located just outside Paris, when the Barbadian songstress stayed in town for her Last Girl on Earth tour. It shows Rihanna in a colorful floral maxi dress and a black lacy basque. "About to drop Te Amo... Really proud of what we did," Mandler tweeted about the video shoot, "Thanks to all of Rihanna's fans for the long list of suggestions... we're gonna follow our instincts and give you guys something special..." The clip's soft lighting and red hue give off a "Moulin Rouge" vibe, matching the song's sexy undertone.
