Katie Armiger Honors First Responders in "Safe"

As part of her "Project Feel Safe" campaign, Katie Armiger dedicated an emotional music video for her new single "Safe," the third single and closing track taken from Country singer's latest fourth studio album "Fall Into Me," to our nation's first responders. Armiger's newest video honors these heros and gives a look into the sacrifices they make everyday while telling a story about falling in love and feeling safe with someone. Armiger is known for her powerhouse voice and pipes, in "Safe" she is more reserved and delivers a subtle and delicate vocal performance that is melodic and soothing. Some of the best love stories begin when you're not even looking for love. The 22-year-old star closes her "Fall Into Me" album with this gentle acoustic ballad "Safe," where she tells the sweet story of an unexpected romance. The gorgeous and sweet ballad which perfectly captures the security of a love that feels just right. "I wrote 'Safe' with Mallary Hope, one of my favorite singer-songwriters in town, and she actually sang on the track, as well," Armiger told The Boot.
"It's the last song on the album, and we wanted the last track to be that song because, stripped down, it's really about the vocal and about being in that moment. It's the most tender moment on the album. It's about being with someone who makes you feel safe. That's the best feeling, that when you're beside that person, nothing can harm you." Directed by Justin Baldoni and features the long Beach Fire Department, the emotionally intense clip is a narrative based video (a rarity in country music) which depicts the sacrifices of not only first responders, but their families in honor of the brave men and women who keep us safe and the families who love them.
It starts out with a blazing fire and a mom in search of her 3-year-old son, amidst the blazes. A selfless fireman assures the distraught mother, The clip, which isn't set in chronological order, skips over to Armiger in the desert with a broken-down car. A handsome stranger comes to her rescue before the blazing fire scenes are back, and the fireman is desperately searching for the crying little boy. Armiger eventually falls in love with the stranger who rescued her, and they're seen in bed together before she leaves him a note with lyrics from her song. The reality of the fire once again sets in and the life-saving fireman, who's none other than Armiger's sweet stranger, is carried boy out from the fire and returned to his mother as Armiger watches and cries.

Katie Armiger Is Getting Dumped In "Scream"

Katie Armiger continues to mature and prove she's a talent to be taken seriously. Armiger's sound is pop-country, and she's wise to continue to stay true to that style. The 20-year-old singer wants to "Scream" since she has held it in too long and she has to let it out. She shows off her big voice in newly released video for her new song "Scream," which is about dealing with getting dumped.
Armiger was first inspired to pursue country music after winning a Houston, Texas city-wide competition. She has released three albums in the past few years and has continually gotten better with each album. Written with Sarah Buxton and Blair Daly, "Scream" is her latest single off of "The True Confessional: Confessions of a Nice Girl." The track, may be her most polished and professional single to date, finds her making strides both as a songwriter and a vocalist.
Like the narrator's own day-to-day life, "Scream" plays like a quietly ongoing tumult of pent-up emotions followed by a sudden and dramatic release. The song's first verse is relatively surface-level, as Armiger recounts a meeting with her former lover in which she meets her "replacement." "I just smiled and shook it off," she says, only later to "scream at the top of my lungs" to vent the oncoming feelings of hurt and jealousy. It's a simple but effective portrayal of the near universal experience of putting on a brave and front only to crumble once the spotlight is taken off.
From start to finish, the lyric and performance are characterized by a definite air of believability. While reckless emotion is a hot trend right now, Armiger's more graceful reaction to getting dumped stands out. You should never 'scream' in church, but when the one you love is marrying someone else, it's probably forgivable. "You see me driving kind of frantically, with the invitation in the passenger seat," Armiger explains of the concept of her new "Scream" video. "But you don't know if I'm going to stop the wedding."

Katie Armiger Has Found Her "Best Song Ever"

Katie Armiger has premiered a new video on KILT (Radio Studio 100.3) for her latest high-octane pop ditty single "Best Song Ever," which is the third single from Armiger's recently-released third album "Confessions of a Nice Girl." The album begins with the perky and happy melody of "Best Song Ever," a tune she co-wrote with Amanda Flynn and Bruce Wallace, that belies the darker undertones of what is really going on in the mind of this young woman. This little piece of pop-country fluff is your go-to happy song whenever you need a pick-me-up.
The storyline for song is that Armiger has just been through a bad breakup, but one day when driving through town, she hears a love song on the radio that somehow gives her new hope that her relationship can be rekindled! She is thrilled at the prospect! She turns up the volume and shouts her hopeful excitement for all the world to hear. At one point, she seems to doubt herself for a moment, as she takes a moment to reassure herself "I'm not crazy - You still want me, don't you baby?" But she quickly pushes such thinking out of her mind, and once again relishes the joy of having found her perfect love's "perfect soundtrack."
Granted, this does sound a lot more like pop than country. The arrangement is mainly built on pop-heavy drumbeats and guitars, with a mandolin supplying the country flavor. But even though it is essentially pop, the arrangement still sounds happy, and fits the mood of the song. Even the mandolin sounds happy, rather than sounding out-of-place among the track's pop flavorings. Does this song live up to its title? Is it really Armiger's "Best Song Ever"? Maybe not. Is is unrealistic? Of course it is. But listen to Armiger's energetic delivery of this song - she sure sounds like she believes it! A playful and bouncy melody pushes the song's hookiness through the roof. I've always loved the sound of Armiger's voice, but when she decides to play the catchy card, I find her darn near irresistible. Just try listening to "Best Song Ever" in the car with the windows rolled down and the volume turned up. Then you'll understand.
From Sugar Land of Texas, the newcomer Armiger's powerful vocals and skillful songwriting are clearly showcased on her new music. At the ripe age of 19, Armiger does not hold back and has an inspiring combination of determination and passion that shines through in her music. Rarely do you hear of a young artist whose vocal ability and talent is compared to the likes of seasoned country artists like Sara Evans and Martina McBride, but Armiger, who burst onto the country music scene is just that. Confident, secure, bold, assertive, vulnerable and in-your-face could all describe the songs on the new album, "Confessions of a Nice Girl," as well as the artist who sings them. Armiger has just scratched the surface of what she is capable of. She is a passionate and driven performer well beyond her years.
