Kelly Clarkson celebrates weddings in "Tie It Up"

Set to tie the knot for real on October 30 in Nashville, Kelly Clarkson rocks a wedding reception in new wedding-themed music video for her marriage anthem "Tie It Up." The 31-year-old "American idol" season one champion has been flirting with country music for the past few years. The Texas gal has straddled the line between the pop and country genres, even releasing singles in the latter genre as she attempts to cross over. She certainly experiments even more with that sound on her new single "Tie It Up," thanks to the twanged-out guitars and groove.
Written by Ashley Arrison, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, "Tie It Up" is a country blues song and the tongue-in-cheek romp about marriage proposals, wedding plannings and getting married. It opens with a "I Love Rock 'n' Roll"-style guitar loop, with Clarkson singing the tale of spotting her groom across a room, it then interpolates to a chorus where she invites him to set the date, hire a band, and ultimately inviting him to "tie it up," accompanied by a sound of wedding bells.
After a series of straightforward pop singles that were empowering and uplifting, it's refreshing for her to let her hair down and sing over a guitar. The let's-get-married come-on "Tie It Up," is a straight-up country with a straight-up blues-country beat. Clarkson's voice is big and soulful, that's why this song doesn't feel married to one genre and like a "mid-'90s Alanis Morissette. "Tie It Up" is feisty genre fun, while still making room for the typical Clarkson wail. It's a vision of commitment that's worth committing to.
The Weiss Eubanks-directed video, meanwhile, is pure feel-good fun, which splices footage of wedding singer Clarkson who shows the bride and groom how to have a good time with clips of normal people's nuptials. It ends with Clarkson winning the bouquet toss but not after she first rocks the wedding reception. Wedding images appear throughout the almost three-minute clip, showing different couples as they take their vows and well into their wedding after-parties. From the rings to the cake, bridesmaids and groomsmen, it is a collage of joyous photos and footage rolled together to complement the fun, country tune.

Kelly Clarkson breaks free in "People Like Us"

Kelly Clarkson breaks free from a restrictive black and white world in her brand new Pleasantville-like video for her catchy pop dance anthem, "People Like Us," the compilation's third and final single to be released from Clarkson's first greatest hits album, "Greatest Hits: Chapter One," which is available in stores and on iTunes now. The 31-year old original American Idol superstar disguises herself as a scientist in the video for "People Like Us," as she tries to help a young woman held captive.
Clarkson recently admitted she now finds it difficult to listen to her early songs like "Miss Independent" and "Since U Been Gone" because of how much auto tune was used on her voice, and because she sounds so young. Filled with empowering lyrics about bringing people together, "People Like Us" soars even higher than the compilation's lead single "Catch My Breath," and showcases Clarkson's ability to turn frustration into uplifting and danceable catharsis. "We are all misfits living in a world on fire," Clarkson belts on her latest single, which is a rousing call for folks to stand up for one another and be individuals.
It's another colossal, fist-in-the-air pop anthem from Clarkson, who is an old expert at spinning hope from hard times and this is the perfect final entry to Clarkson's "Chapter One." "People Like Us," a throbbing outsiders anthem, is also poppy and upbeat, but the biggest draw may be its appeal to the gay community. "People Like Us" finds Clarkson cuing her inner Lady Gaga and belting "Born This Way" levels of encouragement. Unlike her previous more emotionally-themed video for "Catch My Breath," "People Like Us" features a cute little story.
The futuristic clip was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero and filmed on April 9, at Mission Street Lab in South Pasadena, California. It features Miss Independent as a double agent of sorts operating between worlds of color and black-and-white. She alongside a group of stern-looking black and white  scientists analyze this 'in color' little girl in a lab facility. As the storyline unfolds, though, Clarkson's character reveals herself to be more than she appears. Clarkson is actually another in-color person who is trying to save said misfits from a lack of color, in a "Pleasantville"-esque plot against the black-and-white world.

Kelly Clarkson Stopping To "Catch My Breath"

Kelly Clarkson conjures explosions while hitting some explosive notes in the official new video for her uplifting new pop tune, "Catch My Breath," the lead single off of the chanteuse's first best-of compilation, "Greatest Hits – Chapter 1," due out November 19. The American Idol's most successful champion demonstrates just how she plans to keep up with the young guns on the triumphant meditative song, which moderately incorporates the EDM builds recently in favor with everyone from Pink to Taylor Swift.
Can you believe it's been a decade since Clarkson won original American Idol and launched her career as a pop diva? Neither can she. Back in October, The songstress talked about the meaning behind the song, which reflects on her prolonged success journey for past decade: "This song represents who I've been, what I've felt, and where I'm headed, as not only an artist but as a 30-year-old that is now smart enough to know that it's time to stop, catch my breath, and be proud of not only what has been accomplished but of all the people that have helped me become the woman I am today."
"Catch My Breath" is a midtempo electronic dance song with pop rock arrangements that gradually builds up to an uptempo song in the chorus. The uplifting sunny, synth-laden pop jam is classic Clarkson that showcases her unreal set of pipes, and the euphoric sound of her looking to the future, with the organic tone of her clear vocals revealing her new life mantra. While Clarkson has clocked plenty of songs about the perils of love over the course of her career, her romance on this single is more positive than in the past - warm, upbeat and boasting a chorus so big, you could land a plane on it.
Backed by a green screen and split frame video editing, the clip follows track's formula, is one of her most imaginative and more simpler clips since launching her career with "A Moment Like This." Instead of reflecting on winning the competition in the Kodak Theater though, Clarkson tiptoes on water with gorgeous blonde locks flowing over her elegant dress, surrounded by fire, bubbles, and other elemental visuals as she ponders her decade-long career and belts out the feel-good tune about stopping to catch her breath and appreciate all that she's accomplished in her enviable career thus far.

Kelly Clarkson Goes Deep Into Her "Dark Side"

The original American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson follows up her Billboard Music Awards performance of new single "Dark Side" with a nicely-timed premiere of the song's music video in that Clarkson lyrically delves into her own well of inner strength, and her soaring synthpop ballad defines what love's all about. The 30-year-old singer will be returning to TV as a judge on ABC's "Duets," started last night.
"Dark Side," the third single from Clarkson's fifth album, "Stronger," is a mid-tempo synthpop song that incorporates a vigorous music box melody with up-tempo beats in choruses, with its lyrics containing the theme of acceptance in spite of someone's flaws. "Everybody's got a dark side, do you love me; can you love mine?," she sings. Lyrically, "Dark Side" does a nice job of conveying difficult truths while trying to stay upbeat and positive. It's a punch to the stomach for anyone who's felt the same.
The video was directed by Shane Drake and shot in Downtown Los Angeles on April 28. It features Clarkson in a pink dress with light makeup and in another scene where she is wearing a funky black and green dress in a graffiti-filled parking structure. The video finds Clarkson revealing her vulnerable side as she tackles demons of sorts and captures an empathetic Clarkson softly gazing into the camera while sharing the screen as a montage captures different personal hardships and struggling with their problems.
Clarkson sings of how better days are to come. "Everybody's got a dark side. Do you love me? Can you love mine?" she belts on the inspirational track, and her powerhouse vocals bring the heartbreaking stories to life and transports the listener right into the middle of the action. As the video comes to a close, the songstress exchanges comforting hugs with those struggling with their problems; accepting each one of them despite their 'dark side.' The sun rises as the track picks up and the shots of drugs, alcohol and sadness are replaced by cheerful imagery.

Kelly Clarkson "Stronger(What Doesn't Kill You)"

Kelly Clarkson has premiered the video for her latest "Stronger" album anthem, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)." The title track and the second single from Clarkson's fifth studio album fits in with many of the powerhouse singer's previous empowerment-themed, Miss Independent tunes. We hear the songstress confidently tell her former beau. The clip sees Clarkson rocking out with her band and her devotees showing off their best dance moves in a flash mob.
The song was inspired by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche quotation, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." Clarkson said the inspiring dance anthem reminded her of one of her own all-time favorites. "That'll be the one [that's] kinda like 'Since U Be Gone,' [with] people jumping up and down to [it], and it's just kind of really inspiring, so I can't wait to perform that one." The song's lyrics mainly explores the themes of empowerment, and the best of all is "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)," is a throbbing glitter-disco tribute to believing that it really does get better.
The follow-up to lead single "Mr. Know It All," is just as powerful and uplifting as any of Clarkson's smash hits, and the visuals for the new single definitely do the song justice! The 29-year-old stages a global flash mob in the Shane Drake-directed video, using footage submitted by her fans! The original 'American Idol' encouraged fans to be a part of the experience when she posted an instructional dance video with the choreography to be featured in the new visuals and encouraged her fans to submit their own interpretation of the routine.
Like some of her previous videos, the clip is half Clarkson on a stage, full attitude with the microphone, sassily walking around singing her story. The other half explains how she's been wronged: In this case, the story is essentially a giant "It Gets Better/Can't Hold Us Down" dance-off the world over. Everybody is getting stronger all over the place and whether it's an exercise class, the beach, or Times Square, it's the perfect place to let loose and move on. It's "Since U Been Gone" round two. Clarksons got your back.

Kelly Clarkson Hits At Press In "Mr. Know It All"

Continuing her tradition of hit songs, Kelly Clarkson is back in action with a feisty video for her 'Just The Way You Are'-inspired mid-tempo pop cut "Mr. Know It All," the lead single from her upcoming album, "Stronger," which hits stores on October 24. Departure from her signature pop rock sound, "Mr. Know It All" has a distinct R&B flavor, sounds softer and more feminine as American Idol first winner sings. It showcasing the free-spirit side of American Idol first winner and a side to her vocals we haven't seen in a while.
The empowering song finds Clarkson warning her guy he might think he's got it all figured out, but "Baby, you don't know a thing about me." She told Entertainment Weekly: "It's everything I am as a woman and a singer. I love telling men off!" Clarkson described the break-up themed tune as the most different from any of her other singles because the message is not just about relationships. The singer added that though she has a list of people that have brought her down, the song is also about ignorant people who think they know everything about someone.
The Justin Francis-directed video for the song took place in Nashville. Clarkson explained that "The idea behind the video is variety. The whole point of the song that I like is 'you don't know a thing about me. I love that concept because it's ignorant to think you know everything about a person. There's many sides to everybody's personality. We're kind of doing a variety of different Kellys." It featured Clarkson sings in front of a "wall of doubt" in which covered with negative headlines from newspaper and magazine clippings about her.
Clarkson remarked it as "basically all the crap that's been said about me that's kind of funny or ridiculous. we're playing with that and it's how I handle it, kind of sarcastic and funny." Clarkson dressed in a long gown with feathers on her hair which represents freedom. The anti-rumor theme becomes crystal clear at the end of the clip, when the 29-year-old songstress tears the articles off the wall to reveal a road outside. The singer steps through the barrier of bad press with her suitcase, letting us know that her life would not suck without all the unwanted attention. And, just like the song itself - things become hopeful and upbeat for the First Lady Of American Idol once more.

Kelly Clarkson To Release “Already Gone” As Next Single.

Kelly Clarkson is getting ready to promote the 3rd new CD single "Already Gone", which was lifted from her 4th studio album "All I Ever Wanted", and produced by hit-maker Ryan Tedder. The new CD cover is released along with several photos taken from the set of the music video.
The cover art is a close shot of Kelly with a glittery teardrop below her left eye. The single is scheduled to be released on August 24 in U.K. and around the same time in U.S. The music video, which is seen through the photos having a gold and elegant tone, was directed by Joseph Kahn and shot on June 20. No premiere date yet for the video.
