The Wanted debuts "Show Me Love (America)"

English-Irish Boyband sensation The Wanted definitely showed off another side to themselves in their dramatic music video for their new single "Show Me Love (America)," serves as the fifth single from their forthcoming long delayed third album, "Word Of Mouth," which were originally due to release in September last year but fan's won't hear it now until November 4th via Island Records.
Nathan Sykes said when the song was announced: "It started with me writing a simple piano ballad and has ended up incorporating a 14 piece string orchestra!" Sykes explained to MTV UK that the slow jam is about the struggles of having a relationship in the showbiz world. "And it's just saying to someone 'I could have shown you the world but obviously we're on different paths.' I think that's kind of how a lot of people in this industry kind of feel, but I think it's very relatable to a lot of the fans as well because sometimes in life that just happens and people end up on different paths and it just doesn't work out," Sykes added.
"I think some of it will be what you'd expect, which are party songs and club mixes," the group's Jay McGuiness told Billboard. "But there will be some that I think are more reflective of two years of some struggle. So you don't want hands in the air for a struggle song. You want an orchestra and want to emote a little and hopefully there's a mix of both." The Wanted boys are no strangers to fun, but the vocal group turns serious and smile-free in its new music video for "Show Me Love (America)," a black-and-white slice of melodrama that involves heavy rain and heavier hearts. It's full-blown, unabashed boy band material.
In the Frank Borin-directed video, The Wanted boys in suits standing on stage together and performing in an elegant theater backed by a string orchestra as they observe a couple in the throes of relationship turbulence, before becoming part of the story themselves. McGuiness poses as a homeless man, George catches a glance as a police officer, Sykes screams in the rain and Parker abides against a street lamp with an acoustic guitar clutched in his hands. The straight-faced clip turns into high drama in the final minute, as young Sykes gets the final, harrowing word in the boy band's latest single.

The Wanted hit the pub in "We Own The Night"

English-Irish boy band The Wanted celebrates the joys of a good night out in just-released visuals for new party anthemic pop/folk song, "We Own the Night," from their upcoming third studio album "Word of Mouth," which is scheduled to hit the stores in September 23rd via Island Records. When the time came to shoot the video for "We Own the Night," The Wanted knew the only way to perfectly encapsulate the feel-good vibe of the party track was to head to the pub and drink the night away.
The Wanted's manager Scooter Braun told MTV News about this drinking song-like party tune. "It is an anthem," he said. "It is an anthem for anyone who ever had a drink and a good time. It's a perfect The Wanted song, but it's like... it's them. It's a little British to it. It's a little bit of everybody at the bar will be singing this at the top of their lungs [type song]. And it's just a really great, great record. I play it around the office and people just go 'What is that?' And they love it. When the boys finished it, we all listened to it and they said 'This is the record we've been looking for - because this is us.'"
Nathan Sykes, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness have provided an insight into a typical night out for The Wanted lads and can be seen partying in a London bar with their pals on a night out as they flirt, carouse, laugh drink, sing, dance on top of the bar, and make out with their respective ladies. Filmed in a local Camden pub by director Frank Borin, the five-piece's other antics include playing a game of darts, partying with a group of flirty girls and taking advantage of the bar before strolling home in the early hours. And that's exactly the kind of music video this boy band likes to make.
And much like the good-natured video celebrates British pub culture, the guys also wanted to ensure that the song also pays homage to their homeland with just the right flourishes. "[We wanted to] make it a lot more chantey and make it very feel-good and I think we were able to do that. And we wanted to add a real British feel to it and so we added in the bag pipes," Sykes explained. "This video we really just wanted to go back to being The Wanted and have a video along the lines of 'Glad You Came,' which is all about having a lot of fun with a load of good-looking girls, which is awesome," Sykes said. The boys are really own the night!

The Wanted pay tribute in "Walks Like Rihanna"

The Wanted try and impress a sexy music video director with their recycled ideas in their just-released new music video for their latest popalicious single, "Walks Like Rihanna," the first cut to be lifted from the boyband's upcoming third studio album, which is yet-untitled. The latest single from The Wanted may be named after Rihanna, but the music video for the winsomely abysmal new track is focusing on an entirely different set of pop idols, as The Wanted channeling the boy banders who've come before them in "Walks Like Rihanna."
The five-piece English-Irish boy band worked with Dr. Luke on the track, which is a summer anthem that was inspired by Bajan singler Rihanna. "We are really excited about this single. We feel it's a little different from the usual Wanted sound, we've stripped it back to pure pop, it's just a feel-good, fun track," Tom Parker said. "Fun is a good word to describe the video too. Let's just say it's got a lot of character." Apparently, The Wanted decided to have a little fun with their boy-band image in their latest music video.
The accompanying "Walks Like Rihanna" video was shot in Los Angeles and has The Wanted imitating major boy bands that came before them, and the entire mini-film seems to be a cheeky homage to boybands of the past. The video follows the boys meet a way-too-hot music video director who pitches them a few ideas for their new video. Unfortunately the director's video ideas are a bit recycled, but fortunately for us, that means we get to see The Wanted pay homage to previous boy-band pop culture. First, the singers poke fun and re-enact the marionette scene from their forefathers by parodying N'Sync's puppet-themed hit "Bye Bye Bye" from their album "No Strings Attached."
And then spoofs the Backstreet Boys' hit "I Want It That Way" with the all-white-everything scene and features the fivesome sporting all-white suits, identical to those worn in the wildly popular 1999 music video. Finally, the guys pay tribute to their earliest U.K. boy band predecessors by frolicking in the rain à la Take That's "Back For Good." In the end, after several attempts to embody the essences of these other bands, she has the right idea. She puts them in an empty warehouse, and strutting like Rihanna, she enters as the video vixen the video so needed all along.

The Wanted find the dark side in "I Found You"

The Wanted are certainly showing off their adult side with a new video release on Monday for their latest pop-garage-clubby single, "I Found You," the lead single from the five-piece British-Irish boy band's forthcoming third studio album, "Battleground," which will hopefully slam into physical and digital shelves in both the US and UK in early 2013. The first 'Battleground' clip takes the the UK quintet's bad-boy status to a new level.
"I Found You," is a sexy, sultry electro track, with a dance beat that evokes their breakout hit "Glad You Came," plus the added twist of soul-inflected baby-makin’ falsetto vocals on the chorus. The Steve Mac-produced track opens with the same bouncing synths from "Glad You Came," but soon moves into a lengthy chorus sung entirely in falsetto. Lyrically, "I Found You" recalls Rihanna's "We Found Love," with a story about discovering love in an unexpected place.
"This song is a little bit different for us, it's a little bit retro," Jay McGuinness told MTV News of the new single. "But we obviously still have The Wanted party feel [like we're] at a club." Siva Kaneswaren added: "It's about finding someone, whether it be in the rain, in the darkness. It's about being lost, but found." The soulful up-tempo number that manages to come across unlike anything else on radio at the moment. Sure, all the formulaic dance-pop boxes are ticked here. But vocally, these guys have never sounded stronger.
The gritty, British gangster themed video was shot in Los Angeles in late August and directed by Chris Marrs Piliero. It shows the very sharply dressed British boys both at a party and marching through a town, before breaking into a remote country estate and fight with kidnappers of a beautiful blonde. At first, we think we're going to watch boys be the hero but no, instead they steal a small key from her, gives her a goodbye kiss and leaves the room. As it turns out, the key opens a metal box full of diamonds or some other expensive jewels. The final shot shows us five very satisfied faces of jewel thieves.

The Wanted Is Literally "Chasing the Sun"

Following the success of their first single "Glad You Came," the British boyband The Wanted have premiered their new vampire video for their second official U.S. single, "Chasing the Sun," off their debut self-titled U.S. EP. The group eventually find themselves at some kind of makeout party, and things are going swimmingly. "Chasing The Sun" takes on a whole new meaning once The Wanted's night is over.
This club banger was wrote by British rapper and singer Example, who admitted that he originally wrote it for Australian Dance-Pop singer Kylie Minogue, before deciding the tune would suit The Wanted more. "Our song 'Chasing the Sun' is basically about the party that keeps on going," Jay McGuiness said, with pal Max George giving a bit more insight into how that will manifest in the clip: "There's certain shots which we've just done now which are on a rooftop, and then we're filming all night until 6 in the morning, and then the last shot, I think, will be us just kind of walking away looking rather disheveled," George explained.
The Director X-shot video is full flirtatious scenes with leggy models and late-night rooftop scenes with the fellas. In the clip, the fivesome travel the streets of Los Angeles in the middle of the night, and turns out their '90s-looking sunburst tattoos grant them access to an exclusive sunburst party, where the guys meeting up with a mysterious group of the ladies from the club, who leave the chaps with curious tattoos in the shape of a sunburst clinging to each of the boys, who curiously share the same sun-inspired markings on their body.
These scenes are also intercut with shots of the band dudes on a rooftop at dawn singing the chorus of the track, it seems as if the group is literally chasing the sun, in an attempt to keep the late-night party going as long as possible before it rises! Things an unnecessary supernatural turn when we find out these girls are actually blood-sucking vampires. The boys get bitten, but no worries The Wanted fans, they head into the morning sunlight which means they're fine, right?

The Wanted Are Hearts Broken In "Warzone"

British-Irish boy band The Wanted have unveiled their new music video for "Warzone," as the fourth cut from their new sophomore LP, "Battleground," a euphoric widescreen classic of epic-pop proportions. The Wanted are wrapping up another tremendously successful year. With its tear-strewn piano melody and melodic hook, "Warzone" was their most mature effort to date and one of the highlights of the album.
Co-written by Max George and Nathan Sykes from the quintet, the song tells a story of bitter heartache and pain. "You're the reason we started this fight," the five harmonize on this gut-wrenching ballad that comes with a subtle dubstep touch, which gives the song a compelling British flair. The electropop ballad is a subtle attempt at dubstep that fuses somber piano chords and an epic soft rock chorus with distant wobble basslines and spacious beats.
It hasn't been easy for British pop outfit to break in North America but Mercury Records in the U.S. is up for the challenge. First priority is to build a loyal fanbase online who can help spread the word about the group. The Wanted's music will also be strategically placed on TV and radio to get mainstream audiences slowly but surely familiar with their music. A good example of that are The Wanted's recent features on Simon Cowell's X Factor in the U.S.
Featuring a haunting piano riff, emotional vocals and a truly epic chorus, it's easily the best thing they've ever recorded. The video, filmed in Brooklyn, New York, was directed by Director X, who previously directed their video for "Glad You Came." The promo sees the boys having their hearts broken when they discover their girlfriends cheating on them and decide to confront them in the bedroom bust-up. The boys belting out their dubstep-infused ballad while surrounded by huge piles of rubble, smashed up cars and a burning piano.

The Wanted Debut 2nd Single "Heart Vacancy"

English-Irish pop boyband The Wanted are following up their No.1 smash "All Time Low", have just released the video on Sunday for their second single "Heart Vacancy," taken from their upcoming debut yet-to-be-titled studio album scheduled for release on October 25. The obligatory boyband ballad aimed straight at teenage hearts. There is no denying that the boys are rather excited to be riding their current wave of success after the "All Time Low" hit the number one spot in the UK.
Backed by the Universal music label, The Wanted are one of the hottest new pop sensations of 2010! The Wanted fever seems to have gripped the teenage nation this last past couple of months. It shows no real sign of slowing down either. Rather fitting then after their debut single reached number one, The Wanted are striking while the iron is hot and unleashing their second single/video onto the world! The stunning video for "Heart Vacancy" was filmed in Croatia and focusing on band member Max George with directors Max and Dania, the team behind this summer's smash "StreetDance 3D."
"Heart Vacancy" is a touching love song with boys' heartfelt, soulful vocals combined with tender lyrics, acoustic guitar and a smooth bassline. When asked about their new single, The Wanted member Nathan had this to say: "We're really looking forward to releasing 'Heart Vacancy,' it shows a completely different side to us and will hopefully, set the tone for our upcoming album! It's about a girl that's been hurt in the past, who you try to convince to trust you and hope she realises it will be different with you."
"Heart Vacancy," written by Wayne Hector and Lucas Secon, is a quite pretty piano ballad dressed up with a you-can-still-play-this-on-radio confident stomping beat, guitary bits and some light synthy moments at the end. An extended and confusing metaphor about the heart as a hotel room, filling a vacancy supplies more evidence that the boys are lyrically useless, but it's a nice song with a great melody. If you prefer actual human voices to those created by a machine, there's good news: vocally it's less processed than "All Time Low," and Max has a rather lovely tone, but it's still near impossible to tell the mostly personality-free vocals apart.
