Taio Cruz goes for a drive in just-released misic video for his latest club jam, "Fast Car," which was chosen as the second single from his third U.S. studio album, "TY.O." The British pop star has been shifting to pop-ier material compared to his more R&B oriented days. "Fast Car" carries on the dance floor vibe he's been pursuing.

The 27-year-old boasting to his lady that he'll "drive you like a fast car," because women love being likened to inanimate objects on his latest release. The dance-pop track was co-produced by Max Martin and Klas Ahlund. It opens with a gentle melody and Cruz singing about an internal struggle, which makes it seem as though the tune might be a ballad. But soon enough, a light dance beat kicks in as the singer delivers the hook, "Girl you really turn me on, and I'll drive you like a fast car."
The vehicle metaphors continue in lines and the gist of the story is that Cruz wasn't looking for love, but it found him unexpectedly, and now he couldn't be happier. We appreciate the way the song deftly disguises a sappy message into a tougher-sounding track about cars, and its pleasant melody makes it a potential hit. Cruz drives the dance floor and over the roaring with his new production. Put the keys in the ignition and take off with Cruz.
In his new music video for "Fast Car," Cruz and his femme fatale costar have obvious chemistry, and even give us the inside scoop on their on-screen lip-lock. But is he a good kisser? You have to wait and see. The fast-paced video is sure to get your adrenaline going! We like the video and it is nice to see Cruz back in the music scene. Not quite as catchy as "Dynamite" or "Break My Heart," but we're anxious to see how the song does.

Taio Cruz Hits The Club In "There She Goes"

Taio Cruz has premiered a music video in support of his latest single "There She Goes," from the 29-year-old British singer's third studio album, "TY.O.," which has been in stores since last fall. Although the album's single version features vocals from Pitbull, but the Cuban rapper doesn't appear in the music video and his verses are omitted.
Released as a single in Germany back in April, the RedOne-produced club banger, "There She Goes" will be officially released in the UK on June 10th. "There She Goes" has some catchy moments, it shows off what both RedOne and Cruz do the best, and Cruz's vocals are clean and crisp on top of RedOne's banging beats and synths for all-around great weekend party track, but overall falls a bit 'monotonous,' and Pitbull's verse helped 'freshen' it up.
In the video, the 'Break Your Heart' hitmaker jumps onboard the trend of having animals run and move in slow motion as he going on a heavy road trip across the desert on his convertible BMW closely followed by his beautiful love interest female, who prefers to do the journey riding a horse. At night, the couple make a stop at an empty diner where they'll host a party and spends the night dancing under the disco ball. Loads of gorgeous models will attend!
Cruz has just host and mentor Billboard and Chevrolet's 2012 Battle of the Bands concert last night in Las Vegas, and provided musical advice to the six unsigned finalists as they embark on a road trip to the show, which will take place at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Cruz has also acted as master of ceremonies for Friday head-to-head live battle, which will determine which act wins an appearance at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

McFly Debut "Shine A Light" Featuring Taio Cruz

British four-piece band McFly have debuted a music video in support of their latest single "Shine a Light", an enjoyable ballad and the second single of McFly's "Super City" era, featuring R&B sensation Taio Cruz, off the pop rock band's forthcoming fifth studio album "Above The Noise," which is set to arrive in the UK on November 15.
At the exclusive launch for "Above the Noise," The band frontman Tom Fletcher described the process of the creating the song "like working backwards." Rather than working from a piano, creating a complete song before adding the various bells and whistles, they built up the song from beats, bass lines and drum sounds. It has more punch than a school disco, a soaring high-pitch vocal in the verses and a massive Shine a light on if anybody sees her chorus. It also sounds like a song containing hidden gems that are the reward for repeat listens, but the quality of the production, the vocal delivery and the song's dynamic and exciting form lift it far past this and personify the passion and ambition that the boys claimed led the creation of this album. The first step on a long journey to be the world's biggest band.
The poppy, boy-band sounding "Shine A Light," is one of those songs we like to listen to and daydream that someone is singing it about us. We even like to re-enact our very own music videos, that normally end in us tripping over a hairbrush just as things get a bit enthusiastic and dramatic. We're detecting a note of old school McFly cheesiness combined with that aforementioned new sound. And to prove just how much they've changed, they've even roped in Cruz to funk up the whole track. "Shine A Light" boosts a typical boyband chorus – a midtempo, electropop track that oozes with Cruz's synths and a catchy 'Eh Eh' squirming around the background. At first, you may kind of think that this pair won't work but the result is quite convincing and we're loving every minute of it.
Together with Cruz, Fletcher and his bandmates pump up the crowd gathering outside the cage. The video was shot in a secret location in London last month. McFly got together with Phil Griffin who called upon their mammoth fanbase to help out with the shoot at Three Mills Studios in East London. "It was different because we live web-streamed the whole day as a clue to the band's location," says Phil. "By keeping an eye on the web stream, the fans could follow clues and find the shoot. It was a bit mad but worked. The fans then started uploading their own favorite bits of the day to Youtube. The finished video has been up a week and taken over 350,000 hits. I think it was interesting because we invited the fans into the process - made them a part of what made the video."

Taio Cruz Takes A "Dirty Picture" With Ke$ha

It's a British up-and-comer Taio Cruz's naughty tune, who teams up with the always misunderstood, Ke$ha, premiered a music video to support his next single "Dirty Picture," which first appeared on his second album "Rokstarr." It's being released in the UK as a single this month, and a new mix of "Dirty Picture" prominently features pop's latest wildcat, Ke$ha on Myspace UK a few days ago! The party animal Ke$ha balances on the the rim of a public bathroom toilet seat in British newcomer Cruz's new "Dirty Picture" video.
"Dirty Picture," a catchy song nonetheless, was produced by Cruz and written by himself and Ke$ha, as the third single comes from Cruz's upcoming second album "Rokstarr," will be released on April 25 digitally and on April 26 physically, and will no doubt be used as the follow up to his US No.1 "Break Your Heart." Although it has been suggested that Cruz originally wanted Lady GaGa on his song "Dirty Picture," Ke$ha makes a suitably filthy replacement. "I went to a meeting with Dr. Luke and he was telling me about this new girl he was working with. She hadn't done 'Tik Tok' or anything like that at that point. But I just thought she sounded really cool. A very unique-sounding voice," Cruz confessed to MTV.
The music video, pretty standard-fare. was shot partly in East London sometime in February. The pair filmed the remaining club scenes in Los Angeles the week beginning in March. "There are some very sexy party scenes though, full of the coolest looking people, and Ke$ha's performance is amazing," Cruz said as quoted by the Daily Star. "There's a scene in a public bathroom and we had to throw in a sports car. I'm driving through the desert for no reason." The clip will be released on April 26 in the UK!

It's anyone's guess how Taio Cruz finds the time to fulfill his own musical endeavors. Having already written hits for Will Young and Tinchy Stryder, he's now rumored to be working on material for Leona, Kylie and Cheryl Cole. Still, 18 months after releasing his breakthrough album "Departure", the 26-year-old is back with the first offering, the latest single "Break Your Heart" from his forthcoming sophomore album "Rokstarr," just pipped Madonna to the top of the UK charts this week! Making it Cruz's first ever No.1 hit.
Cruz is a UK born and raised musician, who is the son of a Nigerian lawyer and Brazilian mother. He has been on the music scene for a couple of years, and pivotal in turning British teenagers on to homegrown R&B and electrotinged pop. Some have called him the 'British Ne-Yo' mainly because of his singing, songwriting and music production ability. The years he spent as a songwriter in New York and Atlanta after leaving college, writing for the likes of Pussycat Dolls, and recording a version of Umbrella before Rihanna did, have obviously influenced his outlook as well as his music. Since 2009, Cruz has been working on his follow up album which although originally title T.W.O. (This Way Out) has now been confirmed to be called "Rokstarr" which is scheduled for release on October 12 through R.E.D Inc. The album's lead single "Break Your Heart" was written and produced by Cruz and Fraser T. Smith and released on September 14, and it has extended his reign over the UK singles chart, notching up a second week at No.1.
Striking while the Europop iron is still red hot, "Break Your Heart" is an urban club banger that lands somewhere between a softer Tinchy and a more melodic Akon. This might not be hugely original, but it's clear why Cruz has become one of the hottest collaborators of the moment.
