Above & Beyond released "We're All We Need"

The English DJ outfit Above & Beyond took to Times Square in NYC to premiere the music video for their new song "We're All We Need," features British singer-songwriter Zoë Johnston, is the title track off their upcoming third album, due out January 20, 2015. For as long as we've known them, The British legendary trio, Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki, have spent every waking moment fostering a deep and meaningful relationship with their fans through their hope-restoring radio show, empowering live performances, and carefully crafted productions.
Teaming up once again with frequent collaborator Johnston and the melodic masterpiece elegantly displays the silky and angelic vocals of Johnston, who presents a simple yet powerful message. Johnston's haunting vocals are placed over a catchy bassline that takes us through an emotional progression of the beautiful and soulful music that ties everything together. The UK act described "We're All We Need" as an "ode to friendship" and mentioned that the album "places human relationships at its core, and explores the experiences and emotions that bind us."
Above & Beyond delivers another solid trance anthem that harkens back to exactly what fans love about them. The EDM group explained about their new single: "As the writing process unfolded we kept noticing a recurring theme. Zoë hit it on the head with the beautiful song 'We're All We Need' and after a minute's thought, we had our album title. It's very Above & Beyond and feels to us like a development of Group Therapy: you are most certainly included in our 'We'! No song on the album embodies these themes more than the aforementioned title track 'We're All We Need," sung beautifully by Zoë Johnston."
The video itself is very well done and is obviously an homage to the classic film Thelma & Louise. It's well worth a watch as it perfectly captures the spirit/theme of the track, which is the experiences and emotions that bind us. "I think it's the best video we've made to date," Grant says. "I think it's a great song, Zoë's done a great job with the vocal. Just really excited about it. Although we won't have any sound actually, you'll get to see the video, which means people will really focus on the video, which is nice."

Tiësto hosts a pool party letting loose in 'Wasted'

Tiësto follows up his crossover dance-pop "Red Lights" with the second track "Wasted," from his upcoming long awaited first artist album in over five years, "A Town Called Paradise," was influenced by Las Vegas, set to release June 16th. The Dutch dance music megastar just debuted his video for "Wasted," which is basically a 'Mad Men' era fantasy of a ladies' luncheon devolving into a raging sorority girls gone wild pool party/pillow fight/dancing in your underwear thing. Since that's what usually happens when girls get wasted.
Tiësto loves to fill his life with electronic color, and he's accompanied by talented New York based singer Matthew Koma on this libatious track, "Wasted," combines elements from pop, rock and EDM, is an even bigger step away from the 45-year-old's usual hard-hitting trance/electro-house comfort zone. Koma sets the summertime tone singing of good times and puppy love. "I like us better when we're wasted," sings Koma over strummed guitar before the synths arrive. Right out of the gate, it's already a strong contender for "song of the summer" with its shimmering, unforgettable chorus and buoyant bounce perfect for days on the beach or by the pool and nights in the club.
On the other hand, this is possibly Tiësto's most commercial and radio-friendly song to date, straying away from hard drops and sticking to more pop-like sounds. The catchy pop influenced single couldn't be more fit for radio crossover yet still manages to maintain the Tiësto spin. Although many fans grew up with both Dutchmen for their roots in trance or electro house, their new songs are a clear indication of the skill these artists possess to make more outside their genre and think outside the box.
The Tabitha Denholm-directed 60's-themed clip follows quite an entertaining party of strictly women putting on the Tiësto record and letting loose as the song suggests. Tiësto and Koma even make cameos on the TV and have some really uplifting lyrics to accompany the sunny video, While Tiësto himself appears as a dreamy variety show host, and Koma as one of the musical acts. The costume and set designers nailed Palm Springs in the 60's. Nicely timed to the post-Coachella blues. The colorful video may cause many party people in the house to go into a trance, but hardcore fans will find it's easy enough to sing and dance along while staring at the video screen without losing the beat. Tiësto get caught up in all the "Red Lights"

Tiësto is full of surprises these days, has released an energetic new music video to accompany his new track "Red Lights," the first taste of the Dutch DJ's upcoming as-yet untitled fifth full-length artist album, and it mark a departure from 45-year-old Tiësto's traditional trance sound. The track that perfectly blends the best elements of high energy house music and powerfully catchy pop, gives a great first look into what Tiësto is cooking up, a definite road trip anthem with a "drive fast and don't look back" mentality all wrapped up in a melodically light, happy-go-lucky package.
Tiësto has always been at the forefront of dance music, constantly staying ahead of the curve in the ever-changing and growing electronic music industry. Having recently partnered with Casablanca Records and Republic Records, Tiësto teases at his next big music move with "Red Lights," a reference to traffic markers, not another element popular in producer's homeland of the Netherlands. Always the trendsetter, icon DJ-producer sets the pace for the new sound of dance music with his "Red Lights," which is a let's-escape-the-world floor shaker and a mash up of house and pop. Th track certainly has the melodic hooks and riffs necessary to see similar success.
The beautiful blend of melodic harmonies, combined with the gritty, yet touching tone of the vocalist as he sings along, put together with the acoustic guitar riffs makes "Red Light" stand out on its own. No word on who the male vocalist featured on "Red Lights" is. The combination of both acoustic and electronic sounds combine to make this track unique and different. "Red Lights" is definitely a change of pace as one of electronic music's greats adjust to mainstream EDM. And this song is super infectious and catchy, as he derives rapturous results from candy-coated choruses, big builds, and glistening beats.
Instead of complaining about sound-alike tracks and pop music disguising itself as dance music, Tiësto and director Skinny have crafted a sexy Americana road trip with enough skin, tousled hair and euphoric nightlife energy to show EDM newbies how it's really done. The clip tells a story of two girls leaving their boring lives behind in favour of an epic spontaneous road trip that sees them hitch hike across the states, making it all the way by any means necessary to Las Vegas just in time for a Tiësto's gig at Hakkasan and they even manage to visit Grandma on the way.

Loreen wandering across a field in "Euphoria"

Swedish pop singer Loreen Talhaoui premiered the music video via Twitter for her dance club music-lite hit "Euphoria," which garnered international attention when it won Europe's major Eurovision Song Contest this year in May with Loreen getting a majority of the vote for her emotional performance of "Euphoria." Loreen's big vocals give weight to the European dance track's massive message of experiencing celestial-like "Euphoria" with a lover.
The Eurovision-winning smash, "Euphoria" is undoubtedly a fairly typical slice of dancey Europop, but Loreen's performances elevate the song to a completely different level. She packs the kind of powerhouse vocals that are rarely heard in pop music today, and she's got an electric charisma that makes her more alluring than your usual Eurovision alumni. Softly spoken Loreen, a 28-year-old of Moroccan-Berber descent, thanked her fans for their support. "I wouldn't have been able to do this without you. Thank you so much," she said after her victory was announced.
"Euphoria" has Swedish elements sprinkled all over it. It is delicately done. The synths offer that aesthetic gloss that only makes the track go higher in terms of approval ratings. Upbeat would be a good way of describing "Euphoria." It can evoke feelings of great positivity onto its listener. Loreen shows tremendous composure in delivering those high notes. Hearing Loreen start slowly in terms of building that excitement in terms of her soon-to-be-sang high notes really got me pumped up.
Filmed in the Swedish countryside by light summer night, and directed by Marcus Söderlund, who builds a magical atmosphere when he lets Loreen's inherent powers to play against the forces of nature. The video itself is dark and mysterious in much the same vein as her memorable stage performances of the song. It features Loreen walking alone and wandering across a gloomy field, casting her 'wind' powers ala 'The Last Airbender' on the way. While dancing in the grassy areas, she conjures wind, rain, thunder, and even snowflakes fall from the sky, and Loreen is overwhelmed by them with her swift moves. The erratic weather comes to pass and the singer sits quietly in the forest.

Sander van Doorn & Carol Lee 'Love Is Darkness'

Dutch genre-chameleon Sander Van Doorn, currently the world's number 12 DJ, has unleashed the music video for his official new single, "Love Is Darkness," which features the lovely vocals from Carol Lee, an excellent blend of sexy vocals along with an exciting techno-trance beat that'll keep you on your feet. The song claim both singers and they test out the theory in a steamy video about an afternoon tryst complete with lacy lingerie, claw-footed bathtubs, vintage turntables, manual typewriters, and other romantic accouterments—just in time for Valentine's Day, of course.
The first ever, vocally infused song from genius producer Sander, is about to break and by the sound of it, it's gonna break big. "Love is Darkness" is the new vocal masterpiece, and is also a theme that each person on the planet can immediately relate to. Much like love itself, the song is built on a simple idea, building and becoming more intertwined and complex. With "Love is Darkness," Sander effectively marries an unexpected, perfectly original vocal with his own, uncontrived, perfectly original musicality. He carries on his tradition of vocal abilities and continues to try his own voice at self-producing the track. A marriage made in Heaven as they say.
With the songs warm wash of perpetual melody, anchored by angelic strings and a bassline that teasingly ebbs and flows, it could be just another beautiful tune. But it aint. After all, this is a Sander production, and his first commandment is 'thou shall not anticipate.' With jagged sincerity, songwriter Carol Lee expresses the painful and raw fragility within every fractured relationship. "I know it's over, but I'm still waiting for another chance, one more change of heart." But if you were expecting a love song, you better move along. This song is an anthematic, shiver inducing, big room wrecker that will have fans all over the world reaching for the sky and singing along. A soundsystem or two may also be inadvertently destroyed, one of the innocent victims of unrequited love.
Sander excels at versatility on his latest track, offering up some new features to appeal to the EDM demographic, songs for the lovers, and tunes for pained hearts. "Love is Darkness" captures all of the emotions experienced in a rough breakup, this song will have you pushing the boundaries of your speakers and takes our emotions into the deep and 'dark' side of love that we usually have trouble expressing. Carol Lee, vocally expresses the torn relationship that lives among every being. Sander tweaked a little light melody yet still keeps his bass-line reputation throughout the track, that easily means the track seems dedicated to those romantic moments vs 'the dark side,' to keep things moving along at a decent pace.

Armin van Buuren vs Sophie Ellis-Bextor 'Not Giving Up On Love'

British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor's solo career isn't as hot as it once was, but the sound of her sophisticated, posh warbling is still in super high demand in nightclubs across Europe, so she's teamed up with Dutch trance producer and DJ Armin van Buuren to release a music video on local Dutch television this week for their joint trance track "Not Giving Up on Love," the second single taken from Ellis-Bextor's fourth solo studio album, "Straight to the Heart," and the second from Buuren's new album "Mirage," which will see the light of day on September, 10. The new track just released digitally worldwide on Friday.
According to Buuren, "Not Giving Up On Love" is a melodic, electro-sounding vocal beauty with real drums, a piano line and an absolute feel-good sound to it. "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." Born in Leiden, Holland to a musical family, Buuren indulged his passion for music from a young age. Being the official World's Most Popular DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the driving force behind his success is an overriding passion for dance music. "This is just what I really want," says Buuren. "It's not just love for music, it's my passion. It goes beyond liking, and beyond a hobby, it's about a way of living. Music is essential to my life."
The video was shot on party-island Ibiza, Spain and features shots in club-mayhem Amnesia by British director Sophie Muller, just seems to be her constantly lolling about on a boat. Ellis-Bextor's timeless elegance is really on full display in the video. As stated by Ellis-Bextor on an interview, "We've got a really beautiful location. And we'll be on a boat. It's going to be directed by Sophie Muller. And then I'm going to perform with Armin at the Amnesia club, where he has a residency," Ellis-Bextor shared to us. "It's going to be so much fun. I like Ibiza, it's really beautiful. San Antonio is not really my cup of tea but the rest of the island is gorgeous."
The 31-year-old Ellis-Bextor's music is a mixture of mainstream Pop, indie and disco with 1980s electronic influences. She is noted for a strong English accent even while singing. We're never quite sure whether Ellis-Bextor has gone away or not. Every single seems to be a sort of come back song, and "Not Giving Up On Love" isn't any different. As per usual with collaborations between DJs and disco divas, the producer just had to go and inject himself obnoxiously dancing about at his turntable. Those dancehall moments ruin the magic a bit, though not entirely: This is still Ellis-Bextor's game, and she looks nothing less than her usual, statuesque self, standing and posing effortlessly in front of various summery locales. Her voice, which has spent the good part of the last decade wistfully sweeping across dance floors everywhere.

"When Love Takes Over" Features Kelly Rowland

Producer, hit-maker and worldwide ambassador of club culture David Guetta has premiered the video for his new single "When Love Takes Over" featuring main vocals by American R&B singer Kelly Rowland on Yahoo! Music. With three chart-topping albums to date, "When Love Takes Over" is the first single from French DJ's latest fourth studio album, "One Love," released on August 25 by Astralwerks.
Guetta is a name synonymous with the world's greatest house and dance music, and has sold over 2 million albums worldwide and over 3.2 million singles since 1992. Rowland demonstrates that she has the classic diva vocal pipes to be a major star and that "When Love Takes Over" is just the push she needs. Fusing classic dance beats with a heady, emotionally-charged vocal, it's a world away from the midtempo R&B numbers with which she started her solo career. With its exhilarating pop melody and uplifting, powerful beats supporting a ringing vocal performance of impeccable clarity and rousing emotion by Rowland, "When Love Takes Over" became a No.1 smash, topping charts in 10 European countries, as well as top on U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs charts, and is slowly crawling up the Hot 100, mainly due to heavy-airplay at radio-stations. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category for Best Dance Recording for the 52nd Grammy Awards.
The ex-Destiny's Child Rowland met Guetta while attending one of his shows in Southern France during the summer of 2008. She later met up with him and asked him to show her one of his tracks and what he showed her was a "pop number built around a lush piano loop and throbbing percussion" which was the early works of "When Love Takes Over". The beat moved Rowland to tears. "I felt so much emotion from the track; something happened the first time I heard it, and it was just beautiful", she said. Guetta, meanwhile, is banking on the single to garner a stronger stateside following. The piano part is noted for being similar to that of "Clocks" by Coldplay. "The track with Kelly has made me experiment with a more American urban influence", Guetta says. "Musically, it's opened a new world for me. It's pure pop with a lot of detail, and Kelly had this Whitney Houston vibe and nailed it."
The beach party themed video which was shot at Venice Beach, CA on May 19 is the latest video by ground-breaking director Jonas Akerlund, who perfectly captured the essence of the track. In the clip you can see Rowland walking alone down a road, and singing on the beach as the sun is setting. Guetta is seen pushing his DJ equipment around town until they meet at a party. "They share that love and share it with the other people to make that big party", said Guetta. In the end Rowland and Guetta meet up and finish the song at the party.
