Amelia Lily having a blast night in "Party Over"

Amelia Lily seems to posses some time-traveling smartphone in her latest full promo for her ravetastic new single "Party Over," the third single from British singe's upcoming debut studio album, "Be a Fighter," which is due to hit the shelves on April 29. Now, she's supporting Girls Aloud on their arena tour while putting the finishing touches on her debut LP, and let's hope the party isn't over with this new release.
Lily isn't a household name here in America yet, but in her native UK, the 18-year-old blonde bombshell is managed to ascend to superstar status with remarkable speed. Since rising to fame on the merits of her gorgeously smoky pipes and irrepressible energy as a finalist on The X Factor in 2011 - she placed third - the teenage chanteuse went on to sign a three-album deal with iconic English hitmakers Xenomania and immediately notched a smash single with her debut track "You Bring Me Joy."
Lyrically is about the ending of a relationship, "Party Over" is a hot EDM tune thanks to its outstanding beat, and Lily's soaring vocals and energy. It's a big fat drum and bass record dipped in the shiny synth-pop of Xenomania. The production is mammoth, but Lily's shouty voice is powerful enough to keep up with it. Her sound is almost Rihanna-like in parts of the verses, somewhere between the aggressive pop-rock of Pink and the frenetic pep of Cher Lloyd, with occasional shades of Kylie Minogue's dreamy disco, but as the tempo speeds up for the chorus with its big beats, Lily's now familiar powerful voice belts out the words and proves that the party is far from over.
Lily goes back and forth in time and having a blast with her buddies in a house party in the video, which was shot in Los Angeles on January 30. Kicking off with Lily dropping her cellphone in a sink full of water while doing make up, and then her phone changing the hours during the night, where she parties hard on a big night out with her mates, featuring drinking games, swimming pool shenanigans, a pillow fight and animal masks. The video ends with she stepping on and breaking her phone. Cue a flashback to the night before and the end of a party. Lily asks whether the party is over, and we have to be honest Lily, that certainly looks the case.

Amelia Lily is hoping to continue the success and shows off her powerful vocal talents, some fierce attitude and a new grunge-inspired look in the club themed video for her explosive dance-pop single, "Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)," the official second cut from the X Factor UK alumnus' forthcoming major label untitled debut album. The track, will be released in January 13th before returning with her debut solo album later in 2013, is also reportedly used in 2008 comic book film, "The Dark Night."
Another slice of the infectious electro, "Shut Up" may not be as compelling or a timeless pop hit as her successful debut "You Bring Me Joy," which gave the 18-year-old British pop singer her first chart hit over the summer, but Lily has certainly proved she's no one-hit wonder with the premiere of her new Xenomania-produced dancefloor-filler "Shut Up." Xenomania are obviously digging Lily as they're giving her some banging' dance beats! We find the tempo rather plodding to be honest, but perhaps it's a grower.
The down-beat electro backdrop is saturated in attitude. Despite the considerably laid-back beat, Lily commands attention with her powerful vocals. Between belting out the massive bridge - potentially even more memorable than the actual chorus - there remain plenty of sing-a-long moments, particularly the middle eight in which she sounds a tad like Katy Perry. Like her debut, Lily should soar to similar heights with this impressive sophomore effort. Formed around her definitive, punchy delivery, there isn't much more Lily could have done to fulfill her side of the bargain.
Shot it in East London where a scene from "The Dark Knight" was filmed, the new clip is styled with a kind of rock chick look, moving away from the Hollywood/electro dancey vibe of "You Bring Me Joy." It shows the X Factor runner up looking lost while wandering in a type of maze, entering at a dark, underground club and performing a gig, singing a pretty catch pop-rock riff with a band in front of a glass-walled corridor backed by flashing lights. "There is a lot more attitude in there and it's a lot darker," Lily explained. "The video is completely different to the first one and a lot of it was all my ideas so I'm excited."

British singer Amelia Lily earned her chart assault the hard way after one of the most dramatic comebacks in X Factor history, and went on to finish third behind Little Mix and Marcus Collins last year — a huge achievement considering she was set to return to her job in a garden center near Middlesbrough. Now she's back with her debut video for her first solo single, "You Bring Me Joy," as the lead single from Lily's upcoming debut studio album.
Many X Factor (UK) winners have faded into oblivion, but several runner-ups have been the show's most successful exports. Lily is the one who keeps surprising us. "I dream of being as big as Katy Perry and doing a film of my career," says the Kelly Rowland-mentored 17-year-old X Factor star. Produced by Xenomania, this sophisticated, sort-of banger "You Bring Me Joy" sees Lily's impressive voice take center stage.
The danceable electronic pop record is straightforward, honest and obviously brilliant the first time you hear it and increasingly brilliant over the subsequent twenty or thirty listens. There's no enormous synth riff, no dubstep breakdown, and no "oh-oh-oh" lyrical bit. What remains is a very elegant take on the modern pop song. It's quite dignified, in a funny sort of way. It just feels very fluid and natural, and it works brilliantly with Lily's vocals. And that's what Lily's single is, and it's got the airpunch-friendly chorus to prove it.
As for the video, it seem to glow with an effortless summer sheen with a plot that conveys an idyllic teen summer outing, sees the blonde starlet enjoying herself with friends going on a road-trip through Los Angles, while peppered with flashbacks of times where she with her former lover and looks a bit more sad. All these scenes are intercut with Lily performing the lyrics, either on the hood of the vintage gold Mercedes or in front of a beach. It finishing up at a beach party in the evening while Lily sings the closing lines of the song.
