We just can't get enough of Katy Perry! The superstar singer is heating up the summer and enters a hyper-stylized, pastel-soaked pleasure dome in the colorful wild new clip for her upbeat YOLO anthem, "This Is How We Do," which is the newest single from her "Prism" album. The new clip is a modern art masterpiece and is nothing short of colorful, fun and filled with a slew of questionable advice featuring over-the-top visuals and outrageous outfits. There are, however, plenty of vivid colors and retro styling that references the early days of pop art, vintage fashion, and twerking ice cream cones.
This 1990s New Jack Swing influenced dance track is a girls night out anthem that pays tribute to those ladies who party all night. Perry called it "the sequel to 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).'" The lyrics also reference La Super Rica, Perry's favorite taqueria in her Santa Barbara hometown. Perry explained in a tweet that the inspiration for this song was: "My OG crew, our parties & my hometown Santa Barbara." If you can get over the fact that "This Is How We Do" features groan-worthy lyrics like "Now we're talking astrology/ getting our nails did all Japanese-y," you'll realize it's actually kind of a jam.
Unlike women's empowerment, in-depth love and infatuation she crooned about on her other tracks, the current Joel Kefali-directed video is all about having fun no matter what. "This is how we do, yeah, chilling, laid back/ Straight stuntin' yea we do it like that," the 29-year-old singer gives a slew of questionable advice. The singer wisely steers the costumes clear of any ethnic groups this time, instead opting for pop culture references with the Pee-Wee Herman-inspired backup dancers, Yves Saint Laurent's iconic Mondrian dress, a pepperoni pizza swimsuit, green hair extensions and rocking cornrows.
Perry flaunts tons of colorful looks and boasts about living a carefree lifestyle without consequences in her wacky pop art video, which gives off a clear 80's vibe, complete with side ponytails, colorful outfits, and outlandish jewelry. "This one goes out to the ladies at breakfast in last night's dress," she said after singing about driving in a Maserati. Perry acts out the lyrics to her video pretty literally, as she cooks pancakes for her boys, plays ping-pong all night long, and even performs some Mariah Carey-oke, complete with a cameo by the elusive chanteuse herself. Katy Perry crashes 5 different "Birthday" parties

Katy Perry ditched her usual glam and sparkly routine for a more zany and hilarious music video for her single "Birthday." Not only is Perry's new comedic video super fun and happy, but the 29-year-old songstress goes to great lengths to transform herself into her alter egos Goldie the Dancer, Yosef Shulem, Kriss the Clown, Ace the Animal Trainer and Princess Mandee, all of whom perform as party entertainment acts, and her hysterical impressions of the world's worst birthday party entertainers had us in stitches for eight straight minutes and it totally pays off.
This upbeat and irrepressible jam, contains elements of funk-pop, synthpop, and disco house, finds Perry seducing a lover with a bunch of sexual innuendos and promising to give that lucky person the best birthday ever. The exuberant disco song was written by the singer along with Bonnie McKee and the song's producers Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Cirkut. "Birthday" was a musically updated version of disco with a glorious retro-disco explosion, achieved by replacing cheesy strings with jerky breaks and synth washes. Its joyful lyrics present the commemoration of her partner's birthday as a metaphor for sexual intercourse.
The clip begins with short introductions to the characters Goldie, Yosef, Kriss, Ace, and Mandee. Perry is then shown entering all of the five parties in disguise as "The World's Worst Birthday Party Entertainers." First it shows the pop star dressed as Goldie the burlesque-like older entertainer with a whole lot of cleavage and next she presents Yosef, a Jewish entertainer. Dressed in a gray suit and burgundy shirt, and wearing a mustache and a Yarmulke on her small afro, Perry is unrecognizable. As Kriss, an intoxicated kid's birthday entertainer resembled Perry the most. Unfortunately I do look like Papa Smurf right now," Perry says in the character of Ace, a zookeeper who lost his license.
Finally, Perry appeared dressed as a fairy princess who doesn't seem the least bit interested in entertaining anyone. In fact, she wears a mask and stern face while playing with her cellphone, and provides her Twitter handle. At this point, the video is nearly two minutes in, and Perry has yet to sing a note. Finally, the actual song begins to play, showing all five characters at the different parties. The unsuspecting guests have no idea it's the "Roar" singer in costume. Best part is when she finally reveals her true identity to the screams of the little girls at the princess party, who all shout, "Happy Birthday!"

Katy Perry debuts Egyptian-themed "Dark Horse"

Katy Perry channels her inner Cleopatra in the Egyptian-themed colorful fantasy video for her latest song "Dark Horse," the third single off of her third studio "Prism" album, and it's quite a magical spectacle. The trap and hip-hop infused pop song, featuring Memphis rapper Juicy J, is pop star's latest single to go No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, her 9th to do so. "This No.1 is the most unexpected one I've ever had," said the singer. "'Dark Horse' has been a dark horse of a song, since August when the KatyCats voted to release it early on iTunes, before 'Prism"' even came out."
This Dr. Luke produced ballad finds Perry with her sights set on a guy, and she won't take no for an answer. It was selected as a promotional single from "Prism" after the singer asked fans to choose between this song or the dance club heavy "Walking On Air." Perry revealed at a special album release party that the song was inspired by the 1996 movie "The Craft," which is, "about warning a guy that if you're going to fall in love with me, make sure you're sure because if not, it's gonna be your last."
The upbeat track finds Perry playing seductress and putting a potential lover under her spell. She described the lyrics to MTV News as "kind of witchy and dark, as if I was a witch warning this man not to fall in love with me, and if you do know I'm going to be your last." Perry went on to describe the tune as having a "witchy, spell-y kind of black magic-y idea." Along with Juicy J, Perry performed this song at the Grammy awards. She went with a witchcraft/enchanted forest theme, staging an elaborate spectacle where she emerged from a giant crystal ball and sang to an anthropomorphic horse. Those who believe in Illuminati found lots of evidence of Perry's involvement with the group in her performance.
Set in a surreal Ancient Egyptian landscape, the Matthew Cullen-directed whimsical clip begins with the message "Memphis, Egypt...a crazy long time ago," and features the 29-year-old as her latest alter ego, Queen Katy-Patra, clad in a platinum blond bob wig with blue hieroglyph detail, spreading her wings, sitting on her throne and floating down the Nile on a dazzling boat, and haughtily looking on as different suitors try to win her over with gifts ranging from a huge diamond to an adorable puppy. But when those men don't make the cut, Perry unleashes her goddess-like blasting super powers to turn them into sand.

Katy Perry/John Mayer duet for "Who You Love"

John Mayer and Katy Perry make it clear who they love in the lovey-dovey new video for their mellow duet "Who You Love," which appears as the sixth song and the third single from Mayer's sixth studio album, "Paradise Valley." Yes, Mayer and his on-again-off-again girlfriend Perry are among the couples in love featured in their new clip trying not to get thrown from a mechanical bull which seems to be placed in the middle of the desert. This provides a more playful aspect to the video, which largely focuses on close-ups of twosome singing, snuggling, being adorable and unintentionally making single people cry.
This Folk-flavored soft ballad was written by Mayer, with Perry writing her verse. Lyrically, "Who You Love" is about accepting falling in love with someone, based around the idea that "you love who you love." Musically, it is a gentle and breezy song, drawing influence from country music. It has the feel of an old soul classic, while the lyrics discuss the joy of falling in love with someone when you least expect it. This was the first musical collaboration between the couple.
Mayer told Billboard magazine that he wanted to write a melodic and confessional song about accepting who you love. He explained on writing the song, "'Who You Love' is a sweet melody that tells the story of opening your heart up and allowing yourself to fully love the person in your life or specifically to 'love who you love, who you love.' It was a really great experience and the song is one of these like old FM '70s and '80s sort of like duets, and I listened back to it; it's, like, really convincing. And I watched it get made and I'm still kind of taken aback." There's romance here, but it's more of the greeting card variety.
"We set up the casting call for real couples," Mayer said of the Sophie Muller-directed clip that features him, Perry and real-life pairs snuggling while riding a mechanical bull and showered with flurries of confetti, the musical power couple laugh and gaze into each others' eyes. "There was nothing scripted in that video, except putting the bull in the middle of the desert." That's a metaphor about love, Perry explained, "Relationships are kind of like riding a bull. You hang on for dear life and sometimes you get a little buck here and there and sometimes you get things thrown at you but you get back on."

Katy Perry bares her soul in "Unconditionally"

Love hits you like a car! Katy Perry gets hit by a car representing the force of love in the newly released abstract new video for her powerful ballad "Unconditionally," the fifth song from her latest fourth studio album, "Prism." Set in a Gatsby-esque party, Perry dons a gorgeous gold dress in a video that focuses on "beauty and glamour and gorgeous shots." There is not one whipped cream-shooting brassiere or bright blue wig in sight. Steering away from her usual colorful, campy and high-energy videos which produce laughs, Perry's latest seems to focus more on the track, while also being artistic.
Musically, the track is a power pop, rock, and electronic ballad, that contains elements of Christian and electronic dance music. Perry mentioned that "Unconditionally" is her favorite song from "Prism," and described the track as a song about unconditional love that could come in all forms, including those from relationships, from parent-to-child, and from sibling-to-sibling. Perry revealed to EW that the single was partially inspired by her romance with John Mayer, as well as her experience in Africa last year. "I went to Madagascar and did a UNICEF trip that changed my life and gave me this song. It's just a simple message about loving someone and accepting them and kind of driving at you don't have to be so self-conscious, you don't have to fear, because essentially, everybody has their stuff. Nobody comes stuff-free."
The Brent Bonacorso-directed video was filmed in October in London, and was partly inspired by a couple different movies, like "Dangerous Liaisons" and "Anna Karenina" with plenty of artistic imagery. The epic mini movie finds a vulnerable looking Perry swept up amidst a slew of dancers waltzing both in the snow and during a lavish party in a grandiose ballroom. But as she runs from the soiree, we see the singer get struck by a car while belting the ballad in a wintry wonderland setting. Perry told MTV at the EMAs that the poignant moment is "a metaphor to talk about when love finds you, it's kind of being like hit by a car."
She echoed that sentiment in a tweet shortly after its debut: "Yes, unconditional love sometimes feels like being hit by a car... Or being on fire... How does it feel to you?," the 29-year-old pop star tweeted about the  video. Perry also told MTV that the concept for the video is a bit of a departure for her: "It doesn't have a complete narrative. I do that all the time; I usually have quite a big story line. This time I wanted to give a lot of gorgeous, beautiful looks, which I don't usually go for. But it's mostly just a beautiful video that is supposed to evoke this power of love." There's also an owl, a fire, and flying flowers. It's beautiful, bizarre, and tragic.

Katy Perry is adventure through jungle in "Roar"

Just one day after it was announced her new single "Roar" finally roared its way to giving her eighth career No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Katy Perry becomes 'Jane of the Jungle' for the day in the "Junglescope"-filmed music video for the inspiring and catchy pop song, the lead single from Perry's upcoming third studio album, "Prism," is due out on October 22. While the empowerment anthem is a variation on the theme of finding one's voice and being true to oneself, the video is a squandered opportunity: a pseudo-feminist muddle that's less "I am woman, hear me roar" than "I am woman, give me a makeover."
"Roar" is a midtempo, synth-driven power pop song contains elements of folk rock, arena rock and glam rock. Lyrically, the song is an "empowerment anthem" in which Perry stands up for herself, having "discovered the power within herself," as Perry said about the track: "It's a song about standing up for yourself, who can be the biggest bully in the equation is yourself and can get in your way and it's a song about speaking up for yourself and having the strength." It is personal, it is powerful, and, with its combination of sonorous hooks and searing sentiment, it is certainly one of the more perfect pop songs to come down the pipeline in quite a while.

Say farewell to the blue-wigged dreaminess of Perry's "Teenage Dream" era, and welcome to the fierce, monkey-assisted "Prism" age. This one's going to be a whole lot of fun, as she swings, she strugs, she sings, she stylizes with palm fronds in just about every way, this new video is a blast. Perry's main inspiration seems to be Sheena, Queen of the Jungle who thrilled a generation of Post-War boys by swinging through the jungle in a leopard-skin bikini, and it's a perfect fit for Perry.
Directed by Grady Hall and Mark Kudsi, the "Lost"-meets-"George of the Jungle" clip begins with a timid Perry staggering away from a plane crash; the Indiana Jones-esque dummy next to her takes a quick selfie before getting mauled by a tiger. Fortunately, the pop star is stronger than her male counterpart: she conjures a swarm of fireflies during the first chorus, and from there, she begins to dominate the wildlife around her. By the end of the "Roar" clip, Perry is painting an elephant's nails, fashioning spears out of black heels and goofing around with a monkey. Perry's latest masterpiece gives a whole new meaning to 'jungle love!'

Katy Perry Had Teenage Dream In "Wide Awake"

Katy Perry borrows from Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass" book for her brand-new "Wide Awake" clip by transforming the fantasy trope into a bit of an autobiography. "Wide Awake" is the second and final single from the re-release, and eighth and final single from the "Teenage Dream" era overall. Perry's fairy-tale clip closes the book on her "Teenage Dream" story and finds her living happily ever after.
This mid tempo number follows directly from "Part of Me" on the track listing. Whilst "Part" is a kiss-off to a former beau, this song finds Perry crooning about the feeling of empowerment she feels after finishing a relationship. Utilizing dance-pop and electronic music in its composition, "Wide Awake" is lyrically about the reality of a break up and moving on, which many have believed to have been written about Perry's ex-husband, Russell Brand, since it was written and recorded after the break-up. She also noted that major life changes were a factor in the lyrics.
The 27-year-old singer told MTV News that she wrote the song not only for the album, but also was partly inspired and specifically written for her upcoming part-biopic, part-concert 3D film, "Katy Perry: Part of Me." Perry manages to empower the song without belting, thanks to the emotion with which she sings, and "Wide Awake" is one of the most well-crafted mainstream pop songs of summer 2012. The Tony T. Datis-directed clip features a fairy tale-plot with Perry on the set of her music video for "California Girls" before retreating to her dressing room. Once there, the the singer falls into a dream world, which feels like a cross between Labyrinth and Alice in Wonderland, while Perry is forced to make her way through a maze with the help of her spirit guide where a girl(young Perry) looked through a story book that flashbacks of the "Teenage Dream" era singles, each one as a chapter in the book with "Wide Awake" being the final chapter.

Katy Perry Joins The Marines In "Part Of Me"

Katy Perry dumps her cheating boyfriend, cuts off her hair, binds her chest and signs up for the Marines in the new pop-military video for her latest single "Part Of Me," the lead (seventh overall) single from the expanded edition of her album, "Teenage Dream," debuted at the Billboard Hot 100's top spot in February, after the 27-year-old premiered the track at the 2012 Grammys.
This dance-pop and pop rock empowerment song finds Perry declaring herself unbreakable after a break-up. "I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream,[but] it didn't feel right on the record," says Perry. The song puts the brakes on the frothy, confectionery, lighthearted lyrical fare the blue-haired diva is known for. Perry encases a rather venomous, yet self-empowering message in a synth heavy, looped beat pop song and she never passes up the chance to take a swipe. It's a different side of her on the lyrical and vocal level; the studio treated sonics are quite familiar.
"Part Of Me" is a dancefloor rave-up and brings to mind Jessie J's "Domino," chugging along to a similar treadmill-ready groove and riding a guitar hook. And we think this storyline works pretty well with the message of the song. Perry was sore and exhausted after shotting "Part Of Me" video, "I know how to carry my weight a little bit more," she says of military training for the Ben Mor-directed clip, which starts with Perry sitting on a car, spying on her boyfriend and rushes in his office and starts arguing with him. Then she drives down to the gasoline station and buys in a convenient store where she saw a note on bulletin board saying, "All Women are Equal, Then Some Become Marines." Katy Perry Recalls "One That Got Away"

Katy Perry shows true vulnerability and sadness in her just-released moody video for "The One That Got Away," the sixth single from "Teenage Dream." The tune was built on a relentless drum beat and a music box melody which highlights Perry's breathy voice. The contemplative clip perfectly encapsulates both the joy of falling in love and the heartbreak of letting go. It travels through time and space and recalls the melancholic story of Perry's one that got away. It's actually pretty powerful stuff.
This sweet mid-tempo dance-pop ballad with sad structure of the lyrics in combination with nostalgia, is about lost love finds Perry and her guy get matching tattoos on her 18th birthday. Later she hears that he's got his tattoo removed, so she knows the relationship is over. She then walks up the stairs of her contemporary mansion to reflect on the past. As she settles into her place at home, little things begin to recalls her fiery, sexy love affair with her boyfriend played by Mexican actor Diego Luna. The two share moments and enjoy life and things seem perfect between the pair. However, all good things must come to an end. Eventually, their art splits them up.
As he drives tragically and unexpectedly crashes off a cliff, leaving no chance for reconciliation. The video closes with Perry driving Luna's old car. She eventually goes to the scene of the tragedy as Johnny Cash's "You Are My Sunshine" plays. As an old Perry looks over that cliff, the sun radiating over her, she's visited by the ghost of her one true love and, for a moment, feels the love they once shared. Katy Perry Debuts "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"

Getting into character as her nerdy alter ego, Katy Perry transformed herself into Kathy Beth Terry by Rebecca Black for the wackiest new video accompanying her latest single, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" the fifth single off Perry's 2010 album "Teenage Dream," and it's easily her best yet, and she included a couple of random pop-culture phenomenons just for the fun of it. The pop star ends up turning into a '80s glam party animal in her wildly optimistic ode to a love of binge drinking, is proving to be as adept at comedy as her husband, edgy British comic Russell Brand.
Perry explained that this mid-tempo party anthem, which recalls all the fun nights gone by, had a purpose for being on the album: "There's a lot of substance, but also some no-brainers," she said. Perry added that she likens the tune to "I Gotta Feelin'" by the Black Eyes Peas. Perry was inspired to write this track after running naked through a park. She explained: "There's nothing better than an impromptu dance party with my friends. My track 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' is a song about debauchery because I had one of those nights in Santa Barbara. We went out to this place called Wildcat and got crazy."
The 26-year-old added that despite drawing from her own experiences in the tune, the raunchy threesome mentioned in the track didn't actually happen. She admitted: "We had a couple of beers and danced until we died, then brought the party back to the hotel room. Most of that song is actual truth, apart from the ménage à trois... unfortunately! But, yes, streaking in the park, that's what we did, so we had to write a song about it the next day!" The whole thing is one big late '80s-early '90s fun throwback that most of us can likely relate to at one point in our lives or another.
The new video was produced by Dr.Luke and is truly a classic Perry video among fun, entertaining and humorous. In video, Perry takes on an '80s nerdy side as she wakes up in her bed wearing braces, a turtleneck and taped glasses after a (Friday) night of hard partying to find a bunch of strangers passed out in her room, her house a mess, and worst of all as embarrassing pictures of her posted on the internet. At first, it seems like just about every teenager's worst nightmare until Perry realizes that she's just had the greatest night of her life.

Katy Perry Abducts Kanye West For "E.T." Video

Katy Perry dropped her new futuristic video yesterday for her remixed version of the single, "E.T." featuring rapper Kanye West. The song taking viewers into a brand new dimension, is the fourth off of her Grammy-nominated third studio album, "Teenage Dream." We've seen Perry camp it up in "California Gurls" and go glam in "Thinking of You" and "Teenage Dream," but we've never seen her get extraterrestrial until now. Her post-apocalyptic "E.T." clip is a big-budget spectacle that takes Perry to the next level. It certainly ranks among her very best and is unquestionably the biggest thing she's ever done.
The song has a science-fiction theme, and Perry admitted that outer space fascinates her. "E.T. is a metaphor about finding someone who is just obviously not from this world because how could they love me like this? Even though it's a metaphor, I'm very interested in all things futuristic. I mean, I complain every day that the Hoverport has still not been invented!" she said. "I think it's absolutely ridiculous. I look out into the sky and to the stars and I feel there is so much out there."
The spacey, robotic jam over a "stomp-stomp-clap" beat similar to Queen's "We Will Rock You" (1977), "E.T." is an celestial electronic pop and hip hop ballad with elements of teen pop, that tells of "falling in love with a foreigner." Extraterrestrial metaphors are used throughout, and West continues these metaphors in his two verses, making heavy use of Auto-Tune at times. It has been noted for bringing out a different side of Perry, with a darker, deeper, and more mature tone.
The colorful and surreal video was directed by Canadian Floria Sigismondi, known for her "dark, feminine" videos for artists including Christina Aguilera and Marilyn Manson. The video is definitely out of this world with Perry and West falling from outer space down to earth as they deliver their verses. In it, Perry, as a titular alien, drifts through outer space before landing on an abandoned planet covered with litter. "E.T." is a huge-looking, quick-moving blockbuster of a clip, overflowing with eye-catching special effects, opulent costumes and artfully applied makeup, the kind of production where a plot is basically an afterthought. In other words, it's a Hollywood-level spectacle, a summer smash that just so happened to come out in the early days of spring. It's an event.

Katy Perry Inspires And Explodes In "Firework"

Showing her care and concern for fans, the newly married singer Katy Perry has not only unveiled the video for her single "Firework," but also wanted her new video to inspire people and she even dedicated it to the "It Gets Better" campaign, because she feels "everyone has the spark to be a firework." This inspirational dance jam is the third single from her sophomore effort, "Teenage Dream." The video is part of a huge cross-promotional deal with European telecommunications group Deutsche Telekom, who hosted a series of competitions for fans to win the opportunity to feature in the video.
The amazing Perry told Billboard magazine that the inspiration for the song came from an unlikely source. "Basically I have this very morbid idea... when I pass, I want to be put into a firework and shot across the sky over the Santa Barbara Ocean as my last hurrah," she said. "I want to be a firework, both living and dead. My boyfriend(now husband) showed me a paragraph out of Jack Kerouac's book On The Road, about people that are buzzing and fizzing and full of life and never say a commonplace thing. They shoot across the sky like a firework and make people go, 'Ahhh.' I guess that making people go 'ahhh' is kind of like my motto."
That certainly is an explosive video by the newly wedded Mrs. Brand. Perry's most recent tweet states that her grandmother is her firework: "The firework in my life is my grandmother. She raised me and taught me everything about life. She is one extraordinary woman." Perry said "Firework" is her favorite song on "Teenage Dream." She expressed that: "People are coming back and almost adopting it as their own anthem, and it's hard, I think, to write an anthem that's not cheesy, and I hope that this could be something in that category. But I also don't want to be cheesy, it's a fine line, and I think 'Firework' would be like the opus or my one song, if I had to pick a song to play, 'cause it has a great beat. Katy Perry Wakes Us Up With "Teenage Dream"

Treating her fans to a brand new creation, Katy Perry has premiered the official music video via MTV for her second and title track "Teenage Dream" off her forthcoming sophomore album, set to be released on August 24. The midtempo pop song is an upbeat tune about a woman who is falling madly in love and it makes her feel like a teenager again, because she wants him again. It's absolutely in tune with teenage girls' hearts and minds.
Cruising down the highway in a convertible with her welterweight hunk, the 'I Kissed a Girl' hitmaker is madly in love with model Josh Kloss, going through a series of makeout sessions with him in this Yoann Lemoine-directed romantic video, which kicks off in true California cool fashion. Visually, the clip was wonderfully shot with a graying effect that dulls down what otherwise would've been the cliche sunny day in her hometown of Santa Barbara. "It is gonna be completely different from 'California Gurls.' With 'Teenage Dream' you'll see a very raw, almost vulnerable [side]," Perry says about the video. "I had to wear so many less layers of makeup."
"I can't run from where I came from, nobody can," says Perry. When it came time to make her exhilarating second album "Teenage Dream," the 25-year-old singer found herself increasingly drawn back home to Santa Barbara. "I love the vibe that Santa Barbara gives off and I wanted to really tap into the purity of my childhood and that feeling," says the two-time Grammy nominated singer. "It was really fun to get away and walk into the studio with no make-up on." The new album will move you, both emotionally and physically. "I called the album 'Teenage Dream' because I feel like I will always want to be that pin-up poster," Perry says. "I definitely want to be in everybody's dreams at all times until I get to Liz Taylor's age when I'm not in your dreams anymore, and I'm just a diva!"

Katy Perry's "California Gurls" So Sweet It Hurts

The incomparable busty pop tart Katy Perry has just unveiled her pastel-colored, candy-coated new video on MTV for her latest summer track, "California Gurls!" featuring her collaboration, rapper Snoop Dogg. "California Gurls" serves as the lead single of her upcoming third studio album, "Teenage Dream," which is set for release on August 24. It's way too sweet on a variety of levels, and the fashion of the video includes her 'cupcake bras' that are quite funny as well.
The video was directed by Mathew Cullen who has plenty of surprises packed in his sweet tooth. In the music video, Perry is a Candyfornia's part, a game based in poker and board games. The queen of 'Candyfornia' is dressed in little or nothing and trounces around Candyfornia trying to save her California Gurls from Dogg's Sugar Daddy and his Gummi Bear minions. The settings are inspired in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where there many cupcakes, ice creams, candy floss and lollipops. Moreover some California's elements are also appear, like Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood Sign and some West Coast beaches.
"It's definitely something to watch when you have the munchies. It's all edible. We named it 'Candyfornia' instead of 'California,' so it's a different world," Perry in interview with MTV News. "It's not just like, 'Oh, let's go to the beach and throw a party and then shoot a music video!' It's more like, 'Let's put us California Gurls in a whole different world!'" The video is bright and brash and very likely to give you a toothache. Like the song, there is nothing understated about it.
The 25-year-old Grammy-nominated artist has gone from internet music sensation to bona fide international star in just two years. Her multi-platinum debut album, "One of the Boys," generated four hit singles: "I Kissed A Girl," "Hot N Cold," "Thinking Of You" and "Waking Up In Vegas." "It looks like it's going to be a sleepless year," she told MTV News. "It's gonna be really fun. I think we're going to do these type of things, especially for the fans. We're just starting to roll the record out, and it's all beginning again. Although I don't feel like I'm back. I feel like it's a continuum." Meanwhile, "California Gurls," is currently the No.1 song in the country, and the fastest-rising single to Top 10 radio in more than four years. Overall, the video is a sweet treat for your eyes. Timbaland "If We Ever Meet Again" ft. Katy Perry

American Grammy Award-winning record producer, singer and rapper Timbaland is coming to a museum in the music video for his latest single "If We Ever Meet Again", a song about flirting with a stranger at a club, teaming with "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker Katy Perry, who has at least traded up since her last "featured" appearance.
Timbaland lends his AutoTuned vocals to the song "If We Ever Meet Again", which is the fourth single from über producer's latest third studio album, "Shock Value II". The song will serve as the second official new single in the UK, being released on February 15.
Timbaland told MTV that will.i.am's work on "I Gotta Feeling" inspired him to make "If We Ever Meet Again". The music video was filmed in December 2009. It was directed by Paul "Coy" Allen, who directed "Morning After Dark" and "Say Something". He added that he wants the video to be serious and maybe have Bitchy Perry playing his guardian angel: "I wanna make something deep, I don't know if I wanna make it like a relationship. I wanna make it like she saved my life with whatever depression I was going through, whether it be drug depression, weight-loss depression — something. ... Will she be around if I go through this again?" Not sure we picked that up in, but we did get a four minute music video incarnation of The Thomas Crown Affair.
The Paul "Coy" Allen directed video follows a beautiful woman who makes headlines as a burglary suspect. Timbaland picked a curious moment to start outright singing on his own tracks, but he's the most influential producer of the decade, he's earned it. The chorus is perfect for huge crowd sing-a-longs, and we'll probably have to bash our heads against the wall a couple hundred times to get it out of of our brain, so well done, Timbaland, for dishing out yet another song that will be played on the radio nonstop.

3OH!3 Debuts "Starstrukk" Video Ft. Katy Perry

A music video in companion to Colorado-based band 3OH!3's remix version of their single "Starstrukk" which features Pop Princess, Katy Perry as the guest vocalist has finally arrived in full, and premiered on all the networks of MTV Monday.
Directed by Marc Klasfled and Sum 41's drummer Steve Jocz, the video is loosely based on the upcoming Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel's movie "When in Rome," with a theme of magical coins that spur obsession when they're thrown into a fountain, like the ones that can be found in the Italian city. The video was shot at the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum's Rose Garden in Expositon Park on September 21. It follows duo Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte as they daydream about having women falling for them after they pick up coins from "fountain of love". Involving Perry in the daydream scene, the trio running as they are chased by a group consisting of numerous females down a street. This leads to a thrill-ride of rock-climbing, skeet-shooting, James Bond action and a very, very wet Perry, which is not such a bad thing at all. The band's former tourmate and superstar pal even made a cameo in the video, all dolled up in a skimpy leopard-print dress, which is sure to capture fans' attention.
3OH!3, the pair electronic band formed in 2004, and named after the 303 area code from Colorado. The original version of "Starstrukkk" appears in their second studio album "Want", while its remix is included in the album's deluxe edition. The song is also used during a preview of the movie "Couples Retreat" starring Vince Vaughn. "Katy did this 'cause we had, like, a million dollars," 3OH!3 frontman Sean Foreman joked to MTV News. "No, Katy did this because we toured with Katy, we are good friends with Katy and we worked on the song and the remix together. She came in and did the vocals and it's a great song." Perry, just turned to 25-year-old last Sunday also chatted with MTV News on the video's set and gave the real backstory of how she worked with the guys on the dance track. She's happy that the guys are on their way to joining Perry in the pop stratosphere. "It's nice to be around them when they're exploding — like in a musical sense, not in the other explosion sense," she joked. "But it's really fun. It's going to be a fun music video."

Katy Perry was born October 25, 1984 in California, she rose to fame in 2007 with her internet hit "Ur So Gay", and later scored in 2008 her breakthrough single "I Kissed a Girl". The single "Thinking of You" is the 3rd single of Katy Perry from her debut album "One of the Boys". It is one of three tracks from the album written solely by Katy. It initially received some positive reviews leading up to the release. Billboard wrote "...Thinking of You is decidedly more earnest..." and ended with "As a woman who has played the game for longer than most realize, she has earned her keep."

The music video is a 2nd and official music video in the 1st week of December 2008, directed by Melina. The video premiered exclusively on iTunes on today. The video was presented as a flashback montage with a young woman (played by Perry) whose lover is killed in France during the 2nd World War. Katy is clearly not pleased with her new love and longs for her deceased lover to be back. It features actor Matt Dallas as Perry's true love and model Anderson Davis as Katy's second love in the video. As of July 7, 2009, the song has received more than 11 million views on YouTube.
