Keri Hilson & Nelly Are About To "Lose Control"

Keri Hilson returns with an official visual for her collaboration with rapper Nelly for the new track "Lose Control," the fourth single from her sophomore LP, "No Boys Allowed." The 'Pretty Girl Rock' singer seduces the camera with her sexy moves and later works her charm on Nelly. Hilson does what she does best with her dance moves and smooth vocals, while Nelly puts the moves on the star, and gets roughed up by her crew in the sand.
The infectious upbeat track was produced by Norwegian production team StarGate and features Nelly spitting a sexually charged verse. The song finds Hilson instantly attracted to a guy whilst clubbing. Hilson tells the man that she can tell by the way he moves, that he's the one for him and she desires to "Lose Control," "clothes, shake wind and roll" with him. However, the singer eventually gets let down when she finds out he's a different man to the one she thought he was.
The "Lose Control" track is supported by images of the sexy star dancing in a jungle covered in facial paint alone with some scantily-clad ladies backing her up. On the song, Hilson sings of submitting to temptation over a chopped up synth hook extremely reminiscent of Rihanna's "Rude Boy," while Nelly shows up late to make contemporary hip-hop's first-ever reference to Meyer Lansky. The single is a dance track, pure and simple. But, there's something dark billowing at the edges of the song, and that feeling is reflected in the video.
The R&B singer shakes her rump, winding and rolling in the desert with Nelly after dark for the Colin Tilley helmed video for "Lose Control." In video, Hilson and her pal Hip Hop star take on earth, wind, fire and water. She yearns for her man while dancing in the center of a glowing cube without walls, unable to escape. At one point, the singer is partially immersed in water, and later she grooves under falling snow. Nelly appears midway through the clip, happily caressing the star while she sings. The rapper spits masculine rhymes in a verse that's so hot that he ends up surrounded by flames.

Keri Hilson & Chris Brown For "One Night Stand"

After the failed promotions for their duet "Superhuman," Keri Hilson and Chris Brown has teamed again for "One Night Stand," a very 90s-inspired R&B balled track is the second single from Hilson's sophomore album, "No Boys Allowed," which is in stores now. The two blonde R&B singers meet up at a dark mechanic work shop, for an after hours carburetor clean and dance off.
"No Boys Allowed" actually does allow boys. The track listing mentions appearances by Rick Ross, Nelly, J.Cole, Kanye West, Timbaland and on this steamy track, Chris Brown. Hilson explained the album is a deeply personal project designed to bring women to their feet. She said, "It's not about excluding men. It's more about women understanding that there comes a time in your life when you want a man. A real man. A grown up. Not a boy. And that's not a bad thing." "One Night Stand" is a slow jam R&B and soul ballad produced by Charlie Bereal. This song about casual sex was reportedly intended to be a sequel to Brown's 2007 minor hit "Take You Down."
Hilson has apparently lifted her "No Boys Allowed" policy for the Colin Tilley-directed new video, which features Hilson getting cozy with fellow R&B performer Brown, in a sultry, car mechanic fantasy as the two seduce each other in a smoky garage, where we see Brown plays a mechanic, who goes from getting dirty working on a car in a warehouse to working on Hilson's body for just one night. Dressed in all black, the two blondes get down to the slow jam, exuding just the right amount of sex appeal. Both Hilson and Brown demonstrated some great vocal control throughout the whole thing and harmonized perfectly in the chorus.
"Chris Brown is a good friend of mine. He actually was one of the writers on the song, so I decided to make it a duet. It's a perfect marriage," Hilson said. "If TLC and Jodeci did a record together, 'One Night Stand' is what I imagine it would sound like." Hilson has been impressing us with her recent videos as they all have unique stories and looks. "Pretty Girl Rock," pays tribute to iconic women in show biz, including Janet Jackson and Tina Turner. "One Night Stand" matches up to the standard Hilson has set for herself.

Keri Hilson has just released the video on Perez Hilton's site for "Pretty Girl Rock," the second second single from her upcoming sophomore album "No Boys Allowed," is scheduled for a December 21 release. And it is definitely one of the best videos we've seen so far this year. Hilson is pretty and not afraid to boast about it in new video, which shows Hilson revisiting the different eras of music, pays homage to some of music's biggest industry legends throughout the decades, all received the full on impersonation treatment in the very inspirational music visual, to show one thing - they ALL rock!
After debuting her new single "Pretty Girl Rock" live at last month's Beats by Dr. Dre event in New York City, Hilson is feeling herself on the freshly released studio version of the track. She recently explained the motivation behind her new song which has the lyrics "Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful": "It's not really as vain as it sounds, although I do feel those things about myself. I really want people to take away how they should feel about themselves." The Grammy-nominated recording artist takes a trip and channels pretty girls throughout the decade-spanning video. Directed by Joseph Kahn, the clip puts Hilson in a handful of looks, the diva starts off as a 1920's flapper girl in a silent movie, a 1940's film star, a 1950's candy girl, and then makes her way to iconic R&B imagery from the past fifty years. The R&B performer Keri Hilson rounds up her girls and sings away her frustrations about men who don't realize "every woman has breaking point." She is seriously rethinking her relationship and leading a revolution in the Bryan Barber-directed video for her empowering female anthem "Breaking Point," which serves as the lead single from her sophomore album "No Boys Allowed," in stores later in 2010.
"Breaking Point" is a beautiful, over a strutting, mid-tempo R&B joint produced by none other than Timbaland. While Hilson soars vocally, incorporating an improvisational gospel style, while she lays down the law of love. It also has a lovely Prince-like melody. The gorgeous Atlanta-native goes all in on the vocals, recalling Mary J. Blige, circa "I'm Going Down." It definitely ignites a bit of emotion in an every person (not just women) has a breaking point. The concept of the song itself is about moving on from relationships that are not working and expecting men to step up to the plate and show women more respect and love. Hilson said about the song: "The song is about that breaking point that every woman gets to when the excuses given by boys are no longer accepted. If you're not man enough to step to the plate, then keep it moving."
Although the video which comes out via Hip Hop Connection is an still unfinished version. Hilson wrote on Twitter, "Hey Twam, an unfinished version of my new vid 'Breaking Point' leaked, but I can't wait 4 you guys to see the official...coming SOON!" The "Breaking Point" video, was shot in her hometown of Atlanta and directed by frequent Outkast collaborator Bryan Barber, is, initially, a beautifully shot portrait of a woman on the edge of a nervous breakdown or at least having a bad day. Hilson writhes around in bed, singing about a love that's pushed her to the edge.
After a long night alone, lounging in bed and waiting for her man to come home, Hilson decided that she's finally had enough and it's time to move on from their past and get over her broken heart. No amount of bling will blind her from his all-nighters. To set things right, she marches down to the beauty shop for a quick makeover, and switching up her hair from black to blonde before breaking into a choreographed routine with a row full of girls in rollers. T.I. And Keri Hilson Stay True In "Got Your Back"

Southern rapper T.I. brings the story of his life to the small screen by adapting it for "Got Your Back" music video. The track is the first official single off Tip's highly anticipated seventh studio album "King Uncaged" which is set to hit stores on September 28. The Keri Hilson-featuring new video is inspired by a chapter in T.I.'s life who spent much of 2009 behind bars for weapon possession charge, and the Atlanta rapper rhymes about a lover holding him down during arduous times, and he shows love to the women who stand by their man despite legal woes.
Got Your Back" is a female-friendly cut that essentially attempts to recreate the magic of "Whatever You Like." The song features a bright and bouncy electro/synth beat with a super catchy chorus provided by the ultra fashionable Hilson, while T.I. raps the verses and harmonizes in the song's melodic bridge. "[It's] basically just me showing my appreciation to all the ladies who got they man's back in the world, acknowledging the one who had my back and acknowledging the ones that got they man's back at the same time," T.I. explained about the song to Jamie Foxx. Tip's flawless rap technique with Hilson's incredible vocals makes for one hit fans won't be able to get out of their head.
The clip begins with a couple sitting in a sterile courtroom, the man seated before the judge and his love, tearful, sitting in the row behind him. The video then segues to another couple, showing the female love interest having lunch with her man at his loading-dock job. The visual transitions again to the pair making the best of what legal troubles have done to their lives: She shares a laugh with her incarcerated love during a visit to him in jail. Whether it's the easy bliss of one romance or the strain of another, the clip represents how both women get his back. The rest of the video shows Tip and Hilson performers grooving to "Got Your Back" in various well-chosen outfits, often while separated by a symbolic wall. At the end, T.I.'s real-life fiancée Tomeka "Tiny" Cottle makes a cameo, throwing her hand on the rapper's shoulder in support.

R&B crooner Trey Songz usually leaves the ladies hot and bothered with his steamy videos, but the "I Invented Sex" singer tugs at his fans' hearts in a different way, and he's passing out the tissues to go along with his love and war new video, "Yo Side of the Bed," which is the seventh track taken from Songz's 2009 Gold-certified album "Ready," premiered Wednesday exclusively on Essence.com. The tearjerker co-stars Keri Hilson as his wife and the mother of his infant daughter. The couple's prefect life is turned upside down when she is deployed to war and has to leave him with their daughter.
The Yolande Geralds directed video opens with a question about how long the two have been together with lyrics, "Well, if you count the time it took to get her on a date with me," Songz replies, "three years and seven or eight months." The video then flashes back to when they met: Hilson is jogging by Songz, who is seated on a park bench. Hilson is seen decked out in workout gear and a cap, adorned with the insignia of the US Army.
The track sends out a powerful and emotional message of love. "She's in the military and has been called to go on a war," Songz explained on the character that his collaborator is tackling in the video. Sadness and all the emotional feelings experienced by the on-screen couple, especially Songz when he has to come to terms with her departure, are explored in this new video.
Their lives are turned upside-down as Songz struggles to raise his daughter alone and Hilson visibly is missing her family while she goes into combat. Sadly, there's no happy ending in this tragic tale. This was a well thought out video with a great concept because things like that happen every day, right now. It's sad, but it's reality.

Trina's "Million Dollar Girl" f. Diddy & Keri Hilson

The Miami-based rapper Trina aka. Da Baddest B***h has premiered the spanking brand new music video for her latest single "Million Dollar Girl," featuring singer Keri Hilson and music mogul Sean 'Puff Daddy' Combs. I like the fact that Trina always brings something new with each album, and at least an attempt at the prominence her career's been missing. she's a girl like no other, driving pink Ferrari and hitting numerous red carpet events with her 'million dollar smile'.
Much like Akon's "I'm So Paid" clip, South Florida's "baddest bitch" Trina shows to the world what makes her "the baddest b***h" who is far from average, and wants people to know that the current economic climate is not affecting her lavish lifestyle in her new 'comeback' video, which was shoot in a Miami hangar during Super Bowl weekend, and directed by Gil Green, known for his prior work with Rick Ross and Akon. The luxury video has everything, in addition to the private jet lent by Diddy, pink sportscars and stewardess outfits, Trina dominates an office too as her nattily dressed male counterparts are left with their jaws on the floor. Hilson's infectious hook and eyes more than make up for Diddy's flat appearance the song. While filming, Trina took time out to Tweet about the new video, saying, "Shooting the scene where I'm coming out of the plane!! SICK!!!;) I'm feeling so WAVY!!!!"
"Million Dollar Girl" is produced by Mario Winans and C.P. Hollywood. It is confirmed to appear in Trina's upcoming fifth studio effort "Amazin" which is slated for purchase across U.S. on May 4 via Slip-n-Slide Records. The album is preceded with the release of a mixtape called "The Definition of a Million Dollar Girl". Beside Diddy and Hilson, other big stars lined up for the forthcoming album include Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida, Lady GaGa, Monica, Rico Love and Kalenna of Dirty Money. Trina is still thick in the best way possible. Props to Yardie on the rippers. I'm hoping the song/video does big things for the self-proclaimed 'Da Baddest B***h.'

Akon Charity Single "Oh Africa" With Keri Hilson

Much attention has been paid to artists doing charity work for Haiti — as it should be — but the Grammy nominees, Senagal-born rapper Akon and American singer Keri Hilson go in front of the lens to shoot the music video for their charity single "Oh Africa" and has been premiered on last Sunday night in coincidence with the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards with proceeds going to benefit underprivileged African youth in the motherland, including Akon's Konfidence Foundation. The track has been available for download on iTunes immediately after Grammy Awards ceremony.
"Oh Africa" is recorded for new Pepsi football TV commercial for the brand's worldwide campaign "Refresh Your World," which is based on enabling youth to make a positive change in the world. The Gil Green directed clip featuring Akon's performance with his collaborator Hilson, unite on wax for the third time, follows "Change Me" and "Mic Check," go colorful with African paint theme, it showcases vibrantly-colored African visuals with the South African Soweto Gospel Choir on vocals with 16 aspiring young musicians from around the world who won the chance to appear.
The bright, multi-colored video also features football players who make cameo appearances in the music video for "Oh Africa." It's a pairing that would strike fear into the hearts of the most solid Premier League back four. Liverpool hitman Fernando Torres and Chelsea forward Didier Drogba have teamed up - off the football pitch - to help raise money for underprivileged African youths.
"The whole aura of it is so fun, the color, the painting and the drums," R&B star Akon commented on the video shoot. "It brings out all the cultural parts of Africa you can ever think of and it doesn't even seem like a video, it seems more like a work of art that just happens to be a video. I hope you enjoy the look behind the scenes." Akon has also been known to extend his generosity to his fellow artists. Predictably, the song is heavy on treacle without saying much, but that doesn't prevent this from becoming sort of uplifting.

Keri Hilson Shows Her True Colors In 'Change Me'

American R&B and pop singer Keri Hilson just dropped a new official music video for her international single "Change Me" unexpectedly, to follow up her No.1 single "I Like" overseas in Germany and other areas. The song features a rather screechy Akon.
The new single "Change Me" is the sixth single lifted from Hilson's old-certified debut album "In a Perfect World," which was released in March 2009. There was delay with the actual release of this single as it was sent to the U.S. urban radio back in October last year. Seems Hilson's album promotion in other countries and tour affected the official release. Although it was never officially released as a single, three months after being sent to the U.S. radio a full length music video appeared online. An official statement about the song has not been made.
The video for "Change Me," teamed up with Akon, was shot by British director Sarah Chatfield, and produced by Polow Da Don. Hilson's Perfect World gets a splash of color, the video takes place of the set of all white back drop with Hilson, the only one allowed to have springs of color. The video focuses on Hilson singing the song while lying on a bed, and she's looking absolutely gorgeous, stunning and breath taking.
Miss Hilson set the tone in 2009 for Female R&B Acts, and her album "In a Perfect World" was very good too. She has been busy recording her sophomore album, "Turning You On, times 10" for a tentative summer release, due May 2010. According to Billboard, Interscope head DJ Mormille says: "We're just getting into this, but we already have an idea of what we want to do. This album will continue the evolution of Keri, building off the hits 'Knock You Down' and 'Turning Me On,' which helped define her." It doesn't mean she has to stop spitting out new videos from her Gold-selling album "In a Perfect World". But first she will make a stop at the Grammys on January 31 on CBS, where she is nominated for two awards including Best New Artist.

Keri Hilson is undeniably one of the hottest Pop/R&B artists of the music scene. She now goes global, premiered a music video for her latest electro-pop song "I like," which is contribution to the soundtrack for the new German blockbuster Til Schweiger-starring "Zweiohrkuken". The footage from the film is sometimes intercepted with captures of Hilson's performance. New single exclusively for Europe which will be released officially on November 20.
The R&B singer started her career writing hits for stars such as Britney Spears, Ciara and Usher, but after the successful release of her album "In a Perfect World...," Hilson's now keeping some of her best songs for herself. Her newest track, "I Like," is a sexy, catchy synthy, dreamy new jam that could very well become a chart topper. Produced by David Jost and Robin Gruber, it has a dark, electronic beat that matches perfectly with Hilson's sultry voice. The track starts off light, and slowly picks up into the chorus, which Hilson handles perfectly. She doesn’t overuse the hook. "I Like" throughout the track, she just simply sprinkles them in at the perfect times. Clearly Hilson is not only a very talented singer, but an extremely adept songwriter as well. "I Like" is the latest single off of the German re-release of Hilson's debut album.
Hilson won two trophies at 2009 Soul Train Awards earlier this month, leading the winners list along with Beyonce Knowles. She took home Best New Artist and her duet with Kanye West and Ne-Yo on song "Knock You Down" was named Best Collaboration. Hilson is going to perform at the inaugural Nelson Mandela Bay International Music Festival on December 18. She will sing alongside several local acts such as Jozi and Bricks at the three-day event to be held at the World Cup Soccer Stadium.
