Colbie Caillat & Gavin DeGraw | "We Both Know"

Watch pop-rock artist Colbie Calliat teams up with Gavin DeGraw released the official music video for their duet song "We Both Know," to be featured in the closing credits of the upcoming Nicholas Sparks movie, "Safe Haven." The film, about a woman who is forced out of her shell and troubled past, costarring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough, hits theaters on Valentine's Day.
While touring together this summer, Caillat and DeGraw wrote the ballad on a bus ride to Nashville. "It was an overnight drive on the bus and it all just kind of happened. It was awesome. It was magical, it was [sings] this magic moment," explained DeGraw to Billboard magazine. Caillat explained the song's meaning to CBS Local: "It's a song about a relationship where you need time apart and you get perspective on who you are as a person and who you are in the relationship," she said. "It's a beautiful ballad."
DeGraw knows meaningful lyrics and Caillat knows romantic lyrics. Their respective music is thought-provoking, and they sing what we all feel. They each have this unusual tendency to manifest the feelings of our hearts into words, and words into art. Their passion overflowed into these lyrics, giving them depth. This musical match is blissful. And this track is the musical equivalent of The Notebook. "We Both Know" hasn't been set for either artist's upcoming album yet, but both say they would like to see it on their respective future releases.
Shot in Nashville, the music video for their beautiful and soulful track "We Both Know," beautifully weaves in romantic scenes from the film as well as scenes of Caillat and DeGraw. Ths clip shows Caillat on set, sitting on a wooden floor in an off-white dress next to a can of yellow paint and a paintbrush. There's also a heart, which has been painted on the floor. DeGraw, meanwhile, showing him standing on what looks like a wooden pier.

Cheryl Cole Shows Her Moody Side In "The Flood"

British pop sensation Cheryl Cole premiered the video for her latest single "The Flood" on 4Music. Expectations for the song are high given the fact that her last single holds the highest opening week sales for a non-charity single in 2010. It will be impressive if she can repeat that success because "The Flood" as close to a power ballad as her voice can manage, is a radical departure from the upbeat dance-pop of "Promise This."
This ballad "The Flood" is the album's fourth track and second single from the X Factor judge's sophomore solo studio album, "Messy Little Raindrops," which got to the No.1 spot this month despite dividing critics. From running the club with "Promise Me," she slows it down in moody track "The Flood," which was described by X Factor magazine as an "enormo-ballad" and "a massive, strong-laden, Christmassy tear-jerker about wreckage, drowning and natural disaster love." The Wayne Wilkins-produced cut is a "trip-hop ballad, with strong hooks and synthesised strings." It received comparisons to Natalie Imbruglia.
Since she kicked off her solo career with "Fight For This Love," most of Cole's single releases have been fast-paced with action-packed videos. But after a tough year for the singer, it seems she has decided to show her more vulnerable side with a moody new video for her new single "The Flood." The lyrics suggest Cole's love has drowned in a shipwreck and she is forever haunted by what she could have done to save him. She is struggling to adjust her life without the man she loves in this Sophie Muller-directed music video.
The gloomy video is a very different change of pace for the singer, who is seen tossing and turning in bed as she struggles to adjust to life without her love. The Girls Aloud singer is lonely throughout the scenes, sleeping restlessly on the bed and singing in a remote beach house while overlooking the stormy ocean. The video was filmed against the dramatic backdrop of white cliffs on England's south coast, and the classic cinematography compliments the song's melancholic mood, complete with a montage of quick shots in the beginning and end of Cole in a dark beach house with violent waves crashing the shore and a dark room with Cole lighting a candle. Meanwhile, "The Flood" will be released on January 3, 2011.

Ellie Goulding Covers Elton John's "Your Song"

After a rise to fame last year following her hit single "Starry Eyed" it's been a quick game of catch up for British artist Ellie Goulding. The 23 year-old is repackaging her critically acclaimed debut album "Lights" and gone with a cover of the 1970 Elton John's classic "Your Song" as the lead single from her upcoming re-release album "Bright Lights," in stores on November 29. The new tune is already on iTunes, and is set for huge exposure across Britain as it's been scooped up and tipped as a contender for the Christmas No.1 for the popular John Lewis' Christmas TV advert, which explains why Goulding switched her "Bright Lights" first single from "Lights" and "Human" to "Your Song" so suddenly.
"Your Song" was produced by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons and was also remixed very well by Ewan McGregor for the 2001 romantic musical film "Moulin Rouge!" Goulding's "Your Song" smartly eschews any bold (and potentially disastrous) stabs at modern re-invention and keeps things simple, the backing arrangement's striking wintry ambiance at the perfect distance to frame and highlight Goulding's thin wisp of a voice. And if Goulding's vocals have never blown you away in the past, they definitely will here, the fragile edges to her soft warble coating these familiar lyrics with the just the right touch of vulnerability and innocence to make you fall in love with the song's tender message all over again.
The video for "Your Song" has a real homely feel to it, and seems to show a real personal side to her, almost as if expressing how she's still human and normal since having been rocketed into fame. None of the passion is lost with her much gentler vocals, a really nice cover in all. I have to say it's beautiful rendition, with a simple but effective video. It's good to hear too Goulding's more vulnerable and organic side, in comparison to her electro-pop alter-ego in songs like "Starry Eyed", where her voice is super distorted. Still, "Your Song" is risky choice to put out as a single. As much as I enjoy her cover, I'm not convinced it's going to be a hit in the UK. I like it muchly and her voice is up to par. I doubt radios give it lots of spins.
Goulding is about to gift us all again with a new re-release of successful debut and she is hoping all of us will gobble up this holiday season. On the revamped version she is not only including six new songs, but is also trying her damndest to pull at the heart stings of us pop culture loving fools. Goulding has been working hard this year resulting in getting a lot of attentions and getting on a lot of persons radar in 2010 and I guess that things payed off. "Your Song" takes on a more whimsical and somewhat lonely nature, a new sound from the other aforementioned tracks, and one that works ridiculously well for Goulding.

Jordin Sparks Remakes "Beauty And The Beast"

Jordin Sparks is teaming with Walt Disney Studios and recorded her cover version of the theme song "Beauty and the Beast" and filmed an accompanying princess-themed music video with director Philip Andelman, to support the 2010 DVD/Blu-Ray re-release diamond edition of the No.1 most requested Disney animated favorite classic movie. Sparks submerges herself in a fairytale in her brand-new video and her beautiful velvet voice for new version give this classic record a resfreshingly new cheesy pop feel.
The Academy Award winner song is a ballad about the love developing between Belle and the Beast. It was written by composer Alan Menken and late lyricist Howard Ashman. It was very successful on the charts around the world, becoming Céline Dion's first international hit. Both Angela Lansbury and Céline Dion belted out the title song in Disney's 1991 hit "Beauty and the Beast." Now, American Idol champ is taking a crack at the classic. "'We didn't change the song too much, but it is poppier," Sparks says. "I wanted it to be different, so people aren't like, 'Oh, she's trying to be Céline.'" Sparks is a great fit for Disney as the edgiest attempt from the young beauty was performing a duet with Chris Brown. The gorgeous, voluptuous singer/songwriter has made it her purpose to shy away from any attribute that would tarnish her sweet, bubbly persona.
It has been nothing short of a whirlwind: The youngest contestant to ever win 'American Idol,' Sparks was just 17 years old when she won the coveted title. In reflection, it was the best training ground she could have ever had. In the three years that have followed, Sparks has released two albums on 19 Recordings/Jive Records. Her self-titled debut went platinum, selling over 2 million copies worldwide. So with domination of popular music checked off her bucket list, what was Sparks going to do next? Trey Songz Debuts "Already Taken" (Step Up 3D)

Chiseled R&B heartthrob Trey Songz, is back again with yet another video, unveiled the Official music video on 106 & Park for "Already Taken," a single featured on the soundtrack to the dance flick "Step Up 3D," hitting theaters August 6. The soundtrack, produced by Polow Da Don is due on July 20, will also feature songs by T-Pain, Sean Paul, Flo Rida and B.o.B. You can listen to "Already Taken" now by tuning into AOL Radio's New R&B First station.
The song "Already Taken" is a love mid-tempo ballad with a crackling drum beat, then builds steam about not wanting to be a player anymore and being faithful, regardless of the circumstances. This song is a little different from Songz's past tracks, as he seems to be slowly leaving the raunchy sexual sound that helped blow him up this past year to making more romantic, sensual ballads. The song is catchy and should get a lot of play since it always seems like the "Step Up" franchise delivers great compilation soundtracks.
Songz is singing a new tune. While we've grown accustomed to watching him enjoy the single life, the R&B playboy is taking himself off the market for Mrs. Right for his lifestyle. This time he's letting all the ladies know that he's "Already Taken" leaving his playas ways behind even "if you throwing him the booty." The video features scenes from the upcoming movie and features his beautiful ex-girlfriend of two years, Helen Gedlu.
"Step Up 3D" is the upcoming third installment in the "Step Up" franchise once again promises plenty of dance moves and an underlying romance to drive the story. The first dance movie to be shot in 3-D, this teen-focused drama stars a bunch of relatively unknown young actors, but then again, so did the first two, which still managed to outperform box-office predictions. Unlike the previous versions, which followed high-school students, this one seems centered on a tight-knit group of New York's street dancers, including Luke (Rick Malambri) and Natalie (Sharni Vinson), team up with NYU freshman Moose (Adam Sevani), and find themselves pitted against the world’s best hip hop dancers in a high-stakes showdown that will change their lives forever.

McLean Released Another Soulful For "My Name"

Modern soul has a new name. Widely tipped as one to watch in 2010, UK singer and new urban kid on the block McLean (aka Digga) has just premiered a brand new video on McLean's YouTube channel for his first electro-pop ballad single "My Name" via Asylum Records, and taken from his upcoming debut album. Once again McLean has impressed with another high quality video. I absolutely love the synths in this track and combined with McLean's amazing voice.
The track is a relaxed dance-pop/R&B record and a great follow-up to his last years magical and soulful debut single "Broken" which has since amassed 5 Million YouTube views and 20 Million views across Myspace. "My Name" showcases this voice, prompting a host of media to predict that McLean will be a major breakthrough act this year. It has been remixed by many other British artists. It thought that the producer of the song is Fraser T. Smith, but was also originally produced by Slick and Magic in London.
The song was completed in Los Angeles by Dylan "3D" Dresdow, the mix engineer that also mixed every Will.I.Am or Black Eyed Peas' record since "Elephunk."BBC chart blog's Fraser McAlpine states about song: "Interesting how they really layer on that autotune at the crucial moment, the bit where he claims to want to give you, the most important person in his life and therefore his most precious love, his name. I wonder if that's so the song can't be considered to be legally binding, should McLean's actual girlfriend sue him for non-delivery of ring and promise in the event of his becoming famous with a song in which he promises to marry her."
Hailing from Dagenham, emerging British crooner McLean has fought his way up through the UK urban scene working with Chase & Status, Tinie Tempah, Ironik, Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz along the way. McLean's voice is uniquely soulful and producer Fraser T Smith describes him as: "The modern day Marvin Gaye," leading to a plethora of premiership producers working in the studio with McLean on his debut album. "My Name" is an ultra-catchy ditty that you can file right next to Jay Sean, Jason DeRulo and Trey Songz. McLean has some savvy songwriters who know perfectly how to match his warming soul timbre with a polished, radio-ready melody. I really hope this one gets enough exposure and he continues to do great things for UK urban music.

Colbie Caillat Released "I Never Told You" Video

2-time Grammy winner, Colbie Caillat has released a new music video on Vh1's Top 20 Countdown for her latest single, "I Never Told You," just in time before she heads out on tour with the lovely ladies of "Lilith Fair!" "I Never Told You" is the second single, and is the follow-up to the singer's equally-lovey-dovey Top 20 hit "Fallin' For You." Both singles are featured on her sophomore album "Breakthrough," which earned a 2010 Grammy Nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album.
The power pop ballad song was released in February 01, to coincide with the Valentine's Day. In "I Never Told You," Caillat reveals she still has feelings for a previous love and misses him. Caillat originally penned this song whilst touring Europe in her hotel bathroom. She told Starpulse.com: "I wrote it about someone I had broken up with that I was missing at the time." Later on the song was completed during a three week "writing camp" in Hawaii that Caillat organized with fellow singer/songwriter Jason Reeves and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. The song has been already a moderate success on the Adult Pop Songs, staying for seven weeks, and reaching thirteen, so far.
There is no naughtiness in Caillat's "I Never Told You" Video. There's nary a pink Lamborghini, girl-on-girl prison yard scene, high-heeled balancing act on the toilet, traipse through a looney bin or dude with a second mouth on his throat to be found in Caillat's music video for "I Never Told You." Instead what you get is an earnest, straightforward glimpse at three couples who nearly lose out on love, but manage to salvage their relationships. Keyshia Cole "Trust" Video Featuring Monica

The Grammy nominated R&B singer-songwriter Keyshia Cole has stepped up bringing out a music video in support of her third single entitled "Trust" from the Oakland, California R&B singer's third studio album, "A Different Me," which has been in stores and online a year ago on Geffen Records. Cole talks about the importance of trusting someone whom you love in the music video for single "Trust."
"Trust" was written by Cole and Frederick Taylor and co-produced by Toxic Donald Alford and Ron Fair for her second studio album "Just Like You" in 2007 as a bonus track for the iTunes edition of the album. In 2008, the ballad was re-recorded as a duet with fellow R&B singer Monica, replacing parts of Cole's original vocals with hers, and included on her third studio album "A Different Me," as the third single on April 1, with its music video world premiered on '106 & Park on BET' on May 4 in time for Mother's Day. "A Different Me" debuted at No.2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and topped the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart last November. The song also became Cole's highest-peaking single off of the album.
The newly-released video was directed by veteran music video director Chris Robinson, and was elegantly shot in Tuscany, Italy. Princess of soul music, Cole is no longer singing about heartbreak. Now, she's teaching the fellas how to "Trust." She is narrated in the video as a woman who tries to convince her man that she loves him and so he should trust her because she will not do anything that might hurt his feeling. In fact, both she and Monica look amazing in this clip. I'm really glad "Trust" was chosen as a single from album. Their powerhouse voices blend really well together in this duet and Cole gets more vulnerable.
"Trust" is one of those things that like its counterpart, love is something I'd like to call a gift & a curse. Once the trust factor goes out the door, its hard as hell to regain. Even then, things still aren't ever the same. Cole, like most women, have had their share of heartbreaks. However, on her latest release "A Different Me," she's embraced a side to her that many never knew existed. A vulnerable side. When both parties have been hurt & they meet that "one" who seems to good to be true, they often are very guarded "Trust" was one of the most heart-felt tracks on the album. Cole alongside Monica, two power house voices adds that "it" factor to the track. Despite her busy schedule, Cole announced that she was beginning work on her self-titled fourth studio album which is due by Valentine's Day 2010.

Alesha Dixon Revealed "To Love Again" Video

Following her tears after the criticism she's received about her 'Strictly Come Dancing' judging in September, the UK Pop star and dancer, Alesha Dixon has something to smile about. The strictly star returns to the day job for her brand new fourth single to be included on a re-package of her second effort, "The Alesha Show" album called "To Love Again," and has just officially debuted an amazing music video on MSN!
The hot on the heels of the new single, a ballad penned by Dixon and producers Gary Barlow, was the first single taken from the deluxe version, entitled "The Alesha Show - Encore" studio album, released on November 23 by Asylum Records, a part of Atlantic Records. We are in love with this gorgeous international Clutchette. She has been in the game for quite some time. Dixon and Barlow met in Los Angeles with John Shanks and penned the song within the day. Dixon wrote the lyrics about getting over her marriage split with MC Harvey a few years previously.
The music video was originally intended to be filmed in Prague, however, the video shoot coincided with a papal visit by Pope Benedict XVI, and filming difficulties would occur. Also, Charles Bridge, which was planned to feature throughout the video was clad in scaffolding, causing more filming complications. The Big TV directed new video, shot on October 8, features 'Strictly Come Dancing' beauty puts on a short blue belted coat matched with booted heels and hits the park and trying out a ballad rather than her more usual fast dance numbers, as she wanders through a London's Battersea park with autumn leaves scattered across the ground.

Tony Braxton Debuts "Yesterday" Ft. Trey Songz

She's back and turning up the heat! For a while now, fans have been waiting for the sultry diva Toni Braxton to drop a new single "Yesterday" from her upcoming sixth studio album, "Pulse," which will be dropped sometime in February 2010. After much leaked material, Braxton is giving ESSENCE.com readers a first listen, and premiered a music video for the remix version of her new single featuring Trey Songz on BET's popular The Wendy Williams Show on Friday, to help the track become a hit among the R&B fans.
"Yesterday" is the first official single from the album and is produced by DJ Frank-E and released September 29 first time under Atlantic Records after four years in hiatus, following 2005's "Libra". The original song was signature Braxton. Big vocals, slow beats and sexy undertones. But, in a bid to pump up the hype post-Vegas gig and pre-comeback, the record label attempted to gloss it over with a mid-tempo beat.
Filming the music video for the single started on October 8 in Los Angeles with director Bille Woodruff. Braxton taking full advantage of her newly single status had cameos from several hot basketball players, include Shannon Brown and Ron Artest from the LA Lakers, playing her romantic opposite. In video, the sultry singer and former 'Dancing with the Stars' diva is sizzling hot and playing a piano with a small wig and finds the strength to move on after finding her boyfriend Brooke Hogan cozying up to another woman, all the while exchanging vocals with a nearby Songz. The six-time Grammy winner is definitely showing how to be sultry and classy at the same time. She flexed her versatility donning different wigs in each scenario and looked exceptionally beautiful in every take. Her voice is still a powerful sensation which makes us feel like she wasn't gone for "Seven Whole Days." Adding Songz was an interesting cougar-licious mix! Their harmony is definitely apparent and compliments each other.
Braxton has enjoyed a successful musical career and with one of the most distinctive and recognizable voices in contemporary music, She returned to the international marketplace. Both "Yesterday" and "Pulse" have huge significance in the career of this popular singer as she is making a comeback in the music world after a long break of five years. She has tried to put in her best effort to make her new work successful and is also expected to earn her fame. The R&B star present the award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist at American Music Awards last Sunday, and is set to perform "Yesterday" at the BET/Centric presents Soul Train Awards tomorrow night at 9:00pm on BET.

Colbie Caillat | "Fallin' For You" (Video)

"Fallin' For You" is the first single from Colbie Caillat's upcoming sophomore album "Breakthrough" set for August 25 release. The pop-ballad song was released today in the US. Colbie explained to Elle that the song is "about falling for a guy I was friends with. We went out on a date and I realized that there was no one else in the room. The room was silent, and I was on this high from it the next day and wrote this song."
Colbie debuted in 2007 with "Coco", which included hit singles "Bubbly", "Realize", and "The Little Things"; She recorded a cover of the song "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid for Disney's DisneyMania vol.6 CD in May 2008; and also released a song and video for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics called "Somethin' Special" in August 2008.

"Fallin' For You" is honestly a very simple and mellow song. It really is quite relaxing, and follows well from the strength her other hits like "Bubbly" and her recent duet "Lucky" with Jason Mraz have score. I am very eager to see if Colbie's next record can shine just as well as she can sparkle. When it has came down it, there are honestly very few singers right now that simply touch you in the heart, that aren't all about gimmicks or fancy gloss, just a simple voice of the soul. Colbie has honestly has been one of those few. Since she broke out a couple of years ago with "Coco", she has really made great strides as a singer/songwriter.

Christina Aguilera | "Hurt" (Video)

Christina Aguilera was born December 18, 1980 in New York. She has become one of the most successful recording artists of the decade, selling more than 42 million albums worldwide. "Hurt" is a pop ballad song, and the 2nd single from her 3rd studio album, "Back to Basics" in 2006. The song's lyrical content describes how one deals with the loss of a loved one, and it has received praise from pop music critics.

The circus-themed video for "Hurt" was shot over five days in September and the video premiered yesterday on TRL. It is the first video Aguilera has directed. The video begins with the ending instrumental to "Enter the circus"/"Welcome", over which a carnival barker introduces a spectacular circus, and begins in black and white, and ends with a shot of Aguilera sitting on a circus box, singing and crying, before fading out to Aguilera's grief-stricken form on the ground outside the circus tent.
