Eliza Doolittle takes storm energy in "Let It Rain"

Eliza Doolittle has unveiled the video for her brand new track, "Let It Rain," the third promotional single taken from British singer-songwriter's upcoming sophomore studio album "In Your Hands" that's scheduled for release on October 14 via Parlophone Record, and it's a new grown up sound from Eliza that we've heard since she burst onto the scene with her flirty, bubble-gum, pop hit singles "Rollerblades" and "Skinny Genes." The video which premiered over the weekend came into prominence in fluorescent fashion already garnering close to a half million views.
Eliza soldiers on campaigning album No.2 "In Your Hands" with "Let It Rain," which is a string-packed, uplifting, feel good song with a bit of a Disney feel that with no doubt confirms' her status as an exciting artist in the UK pop music scene. From being on Disclosure's hit single to "Big When I Was Little," Eliza has expanded her musical horizons. No longer is she the bubbly and pop-y UK gal everyone's come to love, she's more than that. "Let It Rain" is a little of old, and a lot of the new Eliza Doolittle.
Really liking this, it's a more mature song than we are used to from her. "Let It Rain," will be released alongside the album and is the perfect example of what makes Eliza such a remarkable modern pop star and generational role model. Hearing her soulful voice, Eliza seems like an old soul trapped in a 25-year-old's body. But it's her youth she has to thank that makes her songs sound fresh, mixing breezy folk with vintage pop melodies. One listen to her infectious tunes and powerful voice will have you hooked and wanting more.
The performance based video was directed by Elliott Sellers, who grabs your attention early with a torrential edit effect, but lays out other beautiful shots and some really effective VFX as the video rolls on. The video begins inside a dimly lit house, but the walls soon are ripped away and Eliza is found in the middle of the sun-baked desert where Eliza allows her talent and imagination to unleash. As the video progresses, there's a dark storm cloud rising from the desert floor and the raindrops threatens to sweep over Eliza and she takes the energy in her performance up a notch as she dances through the rain.

Three years after breaking through with her self-titled debut album, Eliza Doolittle makes her long-awaited return with a brand new video for her new single, "Big When I Was Little," will be the first single to be taken from British pop and indie performer's upcoming as-yet-untitled sophomore studio album, which is a "discovery" record, with songs about love and loss. The "Pack Up" singer is preparing to release her new album in October and says it will be interesting as she has learned lots about life since her debut in 2010.
Doolittle's album will tell a story of her journey in life and "Big When I Was Little" is just the beginning of that. She explained: "It's about love and life and on my first record I hadn't really experienced much of either of those. I've gone through growing pains since then and I've experienced things I haven't experienced before. I think [love] is the most important thing in the world." The 25-year-old songbird said the new album also features some songs about the darker side of relationships, including break ups: "When I look at the album as a whole though it's not a break up record, it's more the outcome of how a break up made me feel about life and how I wanna go about living from now on."
Produced by Steve Robson and Wayne Hector, the self-penned feel-good track "Big When I Was Little" perfect for the summer. The track is a fun, quirky, upbeat number that demonstrates Doolittle's increasingly mature songwriting direction and finds her effortlessly showing off her vocal abilities as Doolittle spends time reminicising about the past when she was little. As Doolittle explains: “I was in the studio and I was rambling on about something saying 'that was big when I was little' and Steve goes 'that's a great song title!' So I wrote down some ideas and references and we wrote the song. It's the first song off of the new record and I can't wait for the whole album to be in your ears."
Cooling on the stoop of your brownstone, dumb dancing with your friends, and crashing the community pool after-hours. UK style. That's how British songstress Doolittle does it in this clip, released just in time for the start of summer. The breezy, colorful promo is collection of shots that frame Doolittle well, showing the UK singer perform the track in a variety of comfortable scenes having good times with good friends, while dressed in an assortment of '90-inspired outfits. It's just a splash of feel good entertainment from Doolittle.

Eliza Doolittle Debuts Video For "Mr. Medicine"

British pop-sensation Eliza Doolittle is back with another playful music video, this time for her catchy single "Mr Medicine," the fourth UK single off of her eponymous self-titled debut, which has just released in U.S. on March 22nd via Capitol Records. The British singer/songwriter is set to dazzle American audiences with her sweet vocal stylings.
Doolittle wrote the song with John Beck and Steven Chrisanthou, who also produced the track. Viva magazine asked if this Medicine is a metaphoric Mr., or represents an actual person in her life? Doolittle replied: "It's a secret! Everyone has tried to work out who or what Mr. Medicine is, but I'll give you a clue: it rhymes with Mr. Medicine!" Beatweek magazine asked if it's a "sarcastic take on the whole medicine thing." She replied: "Everyone thinks it's about drugs but it's not. It's actually the only song that I haven't told anyone what it's about yet, because no one seems to have guessed and I just can't believe it because it's so obvious." Guess its time to get our rhyming dictionary out and look up "Mr. Medicine!"
The easy breezy song is easily one of the standout tracks on Doolittle's debut and the super cute video only makes it more enjoyable. The 22-year-old gets together with Director Aoife McArdle for "Mr Medicine" video and a bittersweet twist on your typical walk home from a night on the tiles. The concept of the video is fairly simple, showing the long-haired Brit leaving a bar, and has the sneaking suspicion she's being followed as she wanders the streets alone at night, and she is, followed by a cast of truly bizarre characters from "Where The Wild Things are."
Doolittle fends off the unwanted attention from a variety of rather loveable-looking monsters, lurking in the darkest streets of trendy Shoreditch and environs. McArdle keeps things gentle with her naturalist approach. And there's a bit of swearing. Doolittle, for the most part seems un-phased by her little furry fan club, casting the occasional backwards glance and rolling her eyes. Our "Popping Up" songbird doesn't seem a bit concerned by her furry stalkers, even as she reaches her front door, perhaps because "Mr. Medicine" is inside, keeping these 'beasts' at bay?
