Alexandra Burke Re-released Her "The Silence"

UK R&B songstress Alexandra Burke has finally come to her senses and premiered the music video for the colossal-sized ballad track "The Silence" via MSN Videos UK on early Wednesday. Burke revealed via her official twitter page that "The Silence" will serve as the fifth commercial single from her upcoming the re-release of Burke's Platinum selling debut "Overcome," due in stores November 29.
Fresh from her UK chart-topping single "Start Without You," the latest X-Factor winner returns with this stunning re-recording of her album track, "The Silence," as the final single she plans to release this year. Apparently the song is re worked for the single release. It has some differences compared to the original version, new adlibs, high notes, and choir in final choruses. The re-recorded version song really lace Burke's delivery with a fresh layer of emotion and conviction. Putting that aside, "The Silence" is one of the strongest songs from her very underwhelming debut album and it shows that producer RedOne isn't just a one trick pony when it comes to producing certain songs for certain artists.
As an X Factor contestant, Burke proved more than capable of handling a power ballad. Yet after 4 pop-tastic singles, not including her winner's single "Hallelujah," "The Silence" is the first in which she truly gets to demonstrate her vocal prowess. "The Silence," a gargantuan power ballad bridging the gap between Bonnie Tyler and Beyoncé, fully demonstrates the rich, emotive vocals which refuse to play second fiddle to the roll-call of producers du jour.
The video for the RedOne-produced ballad track is a tasteful black and white affair involving Burke in various stylish outfits, and doing a photo shoot and getting all emotional. Burke passes on the all the cliched elements of a power ballad video. In some scenes, she's just sitting there behind a fake set of tower blocks, belting away and putting on her best faux-emotional facial expressions. The visual lacks any type of storyline and was clearly on that recession special. It fits the strong ballad song's vibe - probably the best example of a simple, elegant, yet potently effective but good! Burke will be performing on the seventh series of The X Factor.

British pop sensation and the alum of The X Factor Alexandra Burke has finally unveiled a music video for her fifth single "Start Without You" through VEVO and later on The BOX and it's not quite what you would expect. The X Factor winner, who celebrates her 22nd birthday next week, teamed up with Jamaican rapper Laza Morgan and mega-producer RedOne for her very 80's-esque song, which will be available on September 5, and reportedly serves as the lead single from the re-release of her upcoming debut LP "Overcome," that will hit stores this fall in the UK.
"Start Without You" is a catchy tune and strong beat with an eclectic mix of Hip-hop, reggae and dance hall sounds. The feisty singer wanted to make a track she could enjoy in her open-top car and tapped into her Jamaican roots for the summery "Start Without You." Burke says: "It's kind of reggae meets pop. It was inspired by my Jamaican background and my new convertible. I really wanted to have a tune I could take down my roof to, drive along and be proud of. I didn't really want to do a ballad. I love the summer and this is the perfect track to dance to." The video was filmed in Los Angeles back in June, and accompanied by a number of chiseled guys, Burke takes over the gym, turning it into a dance floor for the music video. "I hope you guys like it," Burke tweeted after seeing an edit of her video late last week. "I am in love with it. x"

Alexandra Burke Debuts 'All Night Long' f/ Pitbull

X-Factor champion, Alexandra Burke is gearing up for the release of the video on Tuesday for her fun dance single, "All Night Long" featuring reggaeton rapper Pitbull. The track serves as the third release off her recently Platinum selling debut studio album "Overcome," which has been in stores since October 2009. Burke looked the best she has yet, with the video certainly capturing the the essence of the uptempo song, is out on May 17.
Burke throws a house party and invites her devotees to join her in this newly-debuted video, which was filmed in a Hertfordshire mansion in London back in mid-April, and follows the theme of a pool-side party and amongst the back-up dancers. The video also features Burke dances around in various outfits inspired by Lady Gaga in a raunchy night club where everyone is making out with everyone. In one scene Burke is seen with "a mohawk, bejewelled eye-lids and long legs in a leather swimsuit."
Burke has definitely proved that she's worth falling over for in this brand new video. According to the Daily Mail, the songstress asked family and friends to help film the video using 100 pocket video cameras. It's quite a fun and messy video. As you'll see, halfway through, the party switches to the swimming pool with some of the girls jumping into the water. Pitbull which is featured on the remix version of the song is also captured spitting his verses. "Some of the footage filmed was interesting, to say the least," Burke said as quoted by The Daily Star. "I just wanted to do something different. Filming the video was the most fun ever."

Alexandra Burke Premiered Clip "Broken Heels"

Alexandra Burke, the 2008 winner of "The X Factor," is finally out with the brand new, "girl-power"-inspired video for her latest magnificent RedOne-produced groovy single and dance jam "Broken Heels" on UK music video channel "The Box" on Friday. The 21-year-old Burke who followed Leona Lewis, fairly recently signed a £3.5 million, five-album US record deal with Epic Records, apparently the music mogul is just as bent on having her cross over in the US.
"Broken Heels" is picked up as the official second single, (3rd overall), from British R&B singer's debut album "Overcome," which has been in stores since October 19. Burke said the inspiration for the song was girl power: "It's very girl empowering. It's more about girl power, no disrespect to fellas and all that but I thought it was cool to do a song about what men do but we can do better. We did the song from scratch based on my personality. This song means a lot to me. Its actually one of my favorite songs on the album," she said of the track, is to be released in the UK on January 11, 2010.
The music video for "Broken Heels" was shot in the Los Angeles last month, the Frank Gatson choreographed clip unsurprisingly has a distinct US feel and polish to it which is most definitely a good look. It's effortlessly sexy and essentially a complex massive dance routine set in a visual homage to America's favorite pastime. Burke still tries to catch the American culture as she and several female dancers, who are dressed in "gold leotards with huge football-style shoulder pads and heels. All in a while, Burke's awesome strong vocals still flows throughout the song. It's a song that you'll like not just the beat but the vocals as well. Just stunning. The dancing isn't bad either. Burke said in an interview that "[the video is] going to show people that no matter what your shape, color, size, whatever you are, you are still beautiful."

Alexandra Burke was born on 25 August 1988 in London, and winner of the 5th series of UK television singing talent show "The X Factor". Alexandra became the current European record holder for single sales over a period of 24 hours, selling 105,000 copies of her debut single, "Hallelujah", in one day. "Hallelujah" went on to become the Christmas #1 single of 2008. It is the 1st time that an X Factor winner has topped the end of year chart in the UK with their winner's single, and making Alexandra the 1st British female solo artist to sell a million copies of a single in the UK.

At the X Factor's final, she sang what would become her debut single, a 1984 song by Leonard Cohen, "Hallelujah", for the 1st time. Finally, with over 8 million votes cast in total, Alexandra was revealed as the winner with 58% of the final vote, which is 1 million more votes than JLS in the final. Alexandra's cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", which she performed on the show, is available as a digital-download now, and will be released on CD next Wednesday (December 17th).
