The Saturdays debut "What Are You Waiting For"

The Saturdays continues preparing to launch of its upcoming retrospective compilation album officially called "Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits," including all of the band's single plus three extra songs and scheduled to be released on August 11 via Polydor Records. Now, British-Irish girl band strip down to their swimwear as they party up a storm on Greek island in a sunny new music video for their one of three new tracks on new album, "What Are You Waiting For?" and it's seriously going to make us wish we were on a girlie holiday.
Written and Produced by Xenomania, the song, served as the lead single off of the UK fivesome's upcoming greatest hits compilation was premiered on BBC Radio 1 on June 26th. It is a banging, blazing club cut perfect for summertime revelry. And so, what better than to have a video full of beach-y fun and poolside glamour? Filming took place on the Holiday Village resort in the gorgeously sunny Rhodes, Greece in late May, and all five girls jumping up and stripped down in sexy skimpy swimsuits as they soaking up the rays and partying whilst holidaying at on the sun soaked Greek island.
The clip kicked off with the five-piece taking to the winding roads in a jeep, while the picturesque beach also provides a fitting backdrop, and there are a lot of sunshine, smiling and bikini action going on, while showing off svelte and toned bodies that prove The Saturdays are every inch the perfect pop stars. The girls sit by an outdoor pool at the Holiday Village resort in Rhodes before casually hanging out on a yacht and in a jacuzzi.
Una Foden hair flipping and wears a black patterned number that accentuates her toned body; Rochelle Humes rocking giant hoop earrings in a red swimsuit; Frankie Sandford looking seriously fit in a monochrome swimsuit as she performs vocal duties while relaxing in the water with a fruity cocktail, and sultry bandmate Vanessa White is equally eye-catching in a snakeskin print bikini, while Mollie King shows off her slender frame in a vibrant red two-piece. In keeping with the catchy track's upbeat mood, the video also finds the band getting into the holiday spirit with a group of pals as the good times move from pool to boat where they dance on the top deck during a cruise around the stunning Greek island.

The Saturdays are about "Not Giving Up" on love

English-Irish girl group The Saturdays strike back and dance around in black PVC outfits with huge glow sticks in racy video for new track "Not Giving Up" and, inspired by Darth Vader, it involves lots of Lightsaber-esque batons. The Pop quad have stretched the campaign for their latest album "Living For The Weekend" all the way out, serving up first single "What About Us" in 2012, and today the video for new release "Not Giving Up," a dynamo dance-floor jam, serves as the fifth cut to be lifted from "Living" and the first since band-member Frankie Sandford gave birth.
"Not Giving Up" is amazing for a variety of reasons: For one thing, it's about not giving up on love. Persistence is inspiring! But then, the actual song's fantastic too. Actually, it's stupid good. The uptempo club-pop stormer is utterly relentless and very much 'The Saturdays,' powering through the speakers much in the same way as "All Fired Up," the best single on Irish beauty's last album "On Your Radar," as well as "White Lies" and "Get Ready, Get Set," the best non-singles on their last album.
The pre-chorus build is a major earworm of a melody, the chorus was clearly divined by dance-pop angels from above and the post-chorus is a quick talking, tongue-tying moment of serious pop pleasure. It's made for some serious shufflin' the club. Once again, in true The Saturdays fashion, there's next to nothing actually happening here. However, as any a seasoned follower of the group with agree, they're best when playing it simple. The band's label Fascination recently confirmed that a "radio remix" version of the song will be released as the single, while the EP contains three remixes and new B-side "Bigger."
The "What About Us" hitmakers clearly decided to go down the same route and strutting a string of risque moves when they created the clip for new single "Not Giving Up." The simplistic yet sexy video sees the fivesome - Una Healy, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Humes and Vanessa White - are each seen working their magic with lightsaber-esque tubes and dressed all in black racy tight leather PVC outfits as they pull out a range of various dance moves in a dimly-lit room while belting out the song and performing sexy dance routines with huge glow sticks.

The Saturdays travel through time in 'Disco love'

The Saturdays take us on an energetic tour of different musical eras in their just released camp video for the uplifting "Disco Love," the third offering from the girl group's long-delayed upcoming fourth studio album, which is untitled yet, but to be released later this year through Polydor Records. "We've got a good mix. I'm really excited about it because we've got to work with some cool people," Vanessa White recently told Digital Spy about their new album.
Some songs take a couple of spins before growing on me, while others never really get there. The Saturdays' latest groovy new single takes it back to the 80's, "Disco Love," is another girly pop anthem, such a simple, yet catchy and effective pop song is a track that references Donna Summer, Britney Spears and the Bee Gees was always going to be accompanied by a glamorous visual and the British ladies deliver in spades. The single, will be released on iTunes on October 8, is careful and delicate. The pop production shows the variety of sounds that The Saturdays want to reflect on their new album. Finally, they move away from the overrated pop-dance sound.
As for the accompanying new music video, the plot could've been somewhat more elaborate and it is everything you'd expect from this British Pop/Soul group. Lots of glamor shots of each of the ladies. Whether they're having car problems in the desert in 1979 or livin' it up at a roller disco joint, they're beyond stunning. The girls recorded the official video of the new single on July 25 in London, and there are two clear different great party moments/scenes in the video: the first set sees the five-piece travel back in time to 1979 doing their hair in the back of a camper van as when the girls are all seen looking glamourous in funky 80's style clothing as they are stuck with a broken vintage Volkswagen Van in the middle of the countryside.
And then next set up is 1989 as Mollie King, Una Healy, Vanessa White, Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Humes find themselves hits the road and having some good ole fun and flirt with some boys at a roller skating rink and pursue crazy hippy activities like dancing in a field. The dizzying clip ends in 1999 at some kind of breakdance event. It's full of color, energy with a great vibe. Pregnant Frankie is present in the video, but she is much left apart in the main shots as it was intended to hide her huge baby bump.

The Saturdays dressing up like "Gentleman"

English-Irish girl group The Saturdays channeling their inner "Desperate Housewives" before dressing up as their male alter egos in the music video for their weird-amazing new single, "Gentleman," the third single to be taken from the group's upcoming fourth studio album, which rumored to be called "The Chase" and scheduled for release this Summer. The video is a nice complement to the song, and a perfect recreation inspired by the TV promo "Desperate Housewives," as they even dress up as the opposite sex - although nothing can hide their femininity.
Written by Priscilla Renea and produced by Ambience. The tongue-in-cheek track "Gentleman," is a contemporary take on the Nineties urban pop sound, with intricate harmonies and a fast-paced, upbeat flow, hears the five-piece complain about how finding a gentleman to date is difficult in modern society. It a funky little tune, with a spoken-word bit that evokes Girls Aloud built around the following largely inexplicable hook. Undoubtedly one of the biggest girl bands in the UK, the multimillion selling pop group, are now set to continue their remarkable run of success since forming in 2008.
Instead, they throw shade at a guy who not only cheats on his girlfriend but can't commit even after "you got his baby." The retro-flavored cut sees Una Healy, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King and Vanessa White on the hunt for the perfect man but they lament a concept seemingly stuck in a lost decade, so 1999. In a surreal musical turn in their trajectory, the girls have decided to leave their dance-pop sound of the last hit single "What About Us" to enter in the world of urban R&B/Funky/Pop where the girls dare even pseudo-rapping. Still, they deliver an entertaining and funky rap bit at the end.
The Rana Rizwan-directed clip vaguely resembles a 'Desperate Housewives' trailer, sees the girls not only as glamorous housewives but also dressed as their male love interests in masculine suits and hats. The Girls get sexy as Housewives and prance around an ordinary-looking suburban block in Eva Longoria-esque skimpy outfits in sexy ensembles, as they garden, hang up laundry, out drinking and gambling, and perform other domestic tasks, the "What About Us" singers coo about wanting a quality boyfriend/husband/partner. The girls go back to their feminine side after dressing up as men. The concept fits the song effectively. We like. Somewhat.

The Saturdays fitting in U.S. for "What About Us"

The Saturdays are preparing for a big stateside push with a new music video for their latest reggae-tinged dance track, "What About Us," the debut US single, which marks their first ever chart entry in the US and will be included on their upcoming fourth studio album, "The Chase." The English-Irish girl group are really poised to make a huge impact here in the US, and currently in Los Angeles filming a pilot episode for an upcoming E! reality show, "Chasing The Saturdays," which featured the group trying to make it in America, is set to premiere on January 20.
The new British Invasion is upon us. One Direction and the Wanted broke new ground stateside, and now girl groups are trying to maximize on England's musical imperialism. Following in the footsteps of Girls Aloud, The Saturdays are also looking to make their mark on the US markets via an E! reality series. Unfortunately, even though they join forces with Sean Paul on "What About Us," their lead single may make them fare the same way Chezza did on this side of the pond. The Saturdays are known for pretty much pure bubblegum. If there were ever music that somehow sounded like sparkles, it would be theirs.
"What About Us," is a mid-tempo electro-pop affair with a bucket-load of synths thrown in for good measure and a dance-pop shot through with ragga-tinged tone. It's quite good, but we wonder if they should reconsider this single choice if they truly want to launch an invasion on America's charts, since it doesn't feel true to the spirit of The Saturdays. It's a pretty big departure from their usual sugary oeuvre, but not necessarily in a bad way. The heavily Auto-Tuned chorus  seems extraneous, because The Saturdays can actually sing well without it.
The accompanying video begins with all the five-piece (Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White) fitting in nicely in America and walking together down the street through Los Angeles in the morning, shopping at a vintage clothes store, rocking matching Daisy Dukes, hanging out at the pool during the afternoon, clambering over a fence and dancing in the middle of a baseball game later that night while surrounded by friends, before they all collapse on the floor with laughter.

The Saturdays Try To Speed Dating In "30 Days"

The Saturdays have premiered the music video on Chart Show TV for their brand new track, "30 Days," which is rumored to be released as fourth cut on an unconfirmed, upcoming re-release of their third studio album, "On Your Radar." The girl group are expected to debut the new track once band member Una Healy is ready to rejoin the group following the birth of her first child.
The dance-pop tune is the thirteenth single to be released by British-Irish pop girl-group, The Saturdays. The track was co-written and produced by English hitmaker Steve Mac, who previously worked with the five-piece on their songs "Ego," "Notorious" and "My Heart Takes Over." When asked to describe the song in just one word each, the popstars replied with "amazing," "crazy" and "very pop." Explaining the meaning behind the single, Frankie Sandford said: "'30 Days' is about being apart from the person you love and counting down the minutes until you're back together."
The accompanying music video for "30 Days" sees The Saturdays performing the single in a diner. It was shot in February at Starvin' Marvin's Restaurant in West London, and showing the glamorous ladies mainly from above the waist. The making of the video was documented for the MTV broadcast "On Set With The Saturdays," in which The Saturdays give a tour of the set and talk about the plot of the video, with a storyline sees the quintet at a Fifties style diner where they embark on a round of speed-dating.
The video starts off with the girls arriving at an American style diner. They enter the diner intending to have a meal together but then realize they have accidentally walked in on a speed dating night, with a sign on the wall that reads "find your soul mate in 30 dates or less." Vanessa White decides they should give it a go and the girls all sit down separately and are each greeted by several men. Healy showcases her baby bump and Rochelle Wiseman her engagement ring as ways to fend off some of the men they do not approve of. During the final chorus everyone in the diner dances together after the speed dating is over.

The Saturdays Unveiled "My Heart Takes Over"

The British-Irish girl group The Saturdays have unveiled their new video for their Pop ballad "My Heart Takes Over," which is the third cut to be lifted from The Saturdays' upcoming fourth album "On Your Radar," slated for a November 21 release. "My Heart Takes Over" is a heart-wrenching breakup ballad, and the video visually translates the emotional weight that the sorry carries.
The girls have abandoned their previously favored club sounds for the new track - a powerful ballad which shows off the band's tremendous vocal abilities. The song finds the gorgeous quintet harmonizing about letting go and letting love take over. This is one of several ballads on "On Your Radar." Speaking to Digital Spy, The Saturdays said of the LP: "The ballads this time are very strong. There are quite a few tearjerkers on this one. Our last album (Headlines) only had one ballad. This time, we have a few more and they are very singalong."
The Saturdays look as glamorous as ever in skimpy outfits despite the freezing cold in new promo for "My Heart Takes Over" on the black sand beaches of Iceland. The video sees the five-piece face heavy gusts and cold temperatures as they sing their lungs out on the hillsides of the Icelandic stormy countryside. Throughout most of the video, the girls are pictured alone as they each face their own personal obstacle, which are represented by natural elements like strong winds, rough tides, and a downpour of snow.
The quintet flew to freezing cold Iceland in late September to shoot this new video. Although the video is meant to invoke feelings of loss and heartache, it's hard to believe that any of these girls have had their hearts broken. The Saturdays' designer gear, perfectly tousled hair, and overall supermodel appearance isn't the most convincing "scorned lover" act - far from the smudged mascara, puffy red eye look that the average girl sports after a breakup. Simple, stunning, cinematic, the clip reaffirms the saying that sometimes less is indeed more.

The Saturdays Premiered New Video For 'Higher'

The Beatles were one of the most successful groups in history, so it's no surprise that modern bands to their best to follow in their footsteps. And now it's British girl group The Saturdays turn, as the girl band decided to recreate The Beatles' "Abbey Road" album cover in the video for their new single "Higher." The girls are seen walking across a zebra crossing in New York, just as the Beatles did in London for their now infamous shot. They are causing everybody around them to break into dance and start fist pumping in a Jersey Shore-meets-Broadway type fashion.
It portrays the UK girl group having a good time in the streets while belting out the tune. While The Saturdays appear to be in New York in their "Higher" video, they actually flew to Los Angeles to shoot the footage on a film set at Fox Studios, and was directed by Taylor Cohen. The video featuring the album version of the song, premiered on ITV2 and on the group's official website on yesterday. "Higher" is the ninth single from The Saturdays, and the second single to be lifted from the girls mini-album What Will the Neighbours Say? "Headlines!" which is currently available for purchase in the UK.
"Higher," written by Ina Wroldsen, is an uptempo song, with a guitar-based melody that incorporates elements of electropop and synthpop. It also has surging beats and a breathless choruslift it to anthemic levels nonetheless. The girls said "'Higher' is a classic Saturdays pop tune, We can't help but dance around when it comes on! (sic)" The lyrics show a more serious side to the group who make use of auto-tuning on their vocals. "Higher" on the whole received positive reviews from most critics who praised the song for being infectious and catchy.
They may have lost out in one of the most excruciating chart battles in recent memory, but it's fair to say that The Saturdays have dusted themselves down like a chimney-sweep at 5.01pm. With impressive sales of recent dance-ballad 'Missing You,' a reality show and their new EP "Headlines!" holding steady in the top 20, it's no surprise they've attracted the attention of Flo Rida - the very fella who twice robbed them of chart glory - for some freestylin' on their new single "Higher." The lesson here? Never underestimate a Saturday.

The Saturdays "Missing You" Big Ad For Summer

The British/Irish girl group THE SATURDAYS have released the music video, the dance routine matches for their lead single "Missing You" from the girlband's forthcoming third project "Headlines," a total of five new songs for the eight-track mini LP. "Missing You" is released on August 9, followed by "Headlines" on August 16.
"Missing You" comes with a b-side song, "Ready to Rise," and features the five girls on storming form. It's an R&B-ish ballad from the girls and the chorus gets stuck to my head after the first listen. A commendable effort, the song is great for the radio. The bittersweet lyrics are an ode to a lost love, sung beautifully over some monster synth riffs, perfect for a summer smash. Fittingly, the video was recently shot at the end of May in Malaga, Spain. It's basically one big advert for summer, and the band walk around on a beach and dance in a rock pool (with artful splashing) dressed in a variety of beachwear.
Within in the music video Frankie Sandford is seen wearing a cropped white top and white shorts, Frankie walks casually through a field in the video, seemingly unaware of the attention her astonishing six pack is receiving. Una Healy also displayed her toned stomach in a white bikini top, denim waistcoat and long skirt, while Mollie King shows a modest hint of her tummy in a cropped shirt. Vanessa White and Rochelle Wiseman are the only two members of the band not to flash their midriffs in the new video.
Believe it or not, it's just over a year since THE SATURDAYS touched down on Planet Pop and quickly set about redecorating it in the neon shades of their sparklingly fluorescent hyper-pop. Since then a combination of nifty, killer tunes, super-tight performances and pure, hard graft has taken Frankie, Mollie, Rochelle, Una and Vanessa from bright-eyed pop ing'enues to permanent fixtures on the UK charts. Whatever scepticism and lazy comparisons greeted them initially have simply been swept away by a tireless ethos of getting on with it. The fact remains, since their debut last summer, THE SATURDAYS have had more hits than any other girl group in the land.
It's not gone unnoticed that music's needed a bloody good kick up the arse for some time now. Indie and R & B are all well and good, but what the hell are we supposed to dance to? Well wonder no more, because THE SATURDAYS's are about to throw themselves headfirst into your consciousness like a five-woman whirlwind, and bring back some much-needed, shameless fun to the charts. They're pure pop and just proud of it.

The Saturdays "Forever Is Over" Is Out Today

The UK POP angels, The Saturdays was just made their new single "Forever Is Over" available on iTunes now, and they have descended then mass onto twitter and are furiously pimping it out to all and sundry. "Forever is Over" is the first single from British girl pop band, The Saturdays, written by Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters, and James Bourne of Busted fame, and produced by The Runaways, who also co-wrote and produced Keri Hilson's lead single "Energy". The song is the opening track for the group's second studio album, "Wordshaker," which is someone who twists the truth and is set to be released on today, with the album released one week later.
The Saturdays was formed in Britain in 2007, comprising Una Healy, Mollie King, Vanessa White, Rochelle Wiseman and Frankie Sandford. This lead single "Forever Is Over" finds them shifting away from glossy electropop and taking a few stiletto steps into pop-rock territory. The Saturdays have revealed their devilish side by pinching a single "Forever Is Over" from under the nose of Kelly Clarkson. It was originally penned by ex-Busted star James Bourne, for American Idol winner Kelly. But once the girl troupe wrapped their lugholes around the smash hit they demanded first dibs.
The music video for quintet's title song reflects their maturing style. It was shot on July 29. It was leaked onto YouTube on August 22, and debuted on Radio One's "Switch" next day. The clip shows the girls in a house singing and around a town. At the end of the video, the girls are seen leaving a nightclub. Rochelle Wiseman added:"We almost called it Deeper because we wanted something more grown-up".
