Meiko Pining After Desired Love In "Be Mine"

Meiko may have launched her journey as a singer-songwriter by playing small coffee shops in California, but her voice feels so cozy and sounds so familiar - like a long lost friend singing body swaying melodies at a beach bonfire, and with an international tour in the rearview and her just-released third full-length "Dear You," follows Meiko's acclaimed 2012 release "The Bright Side," which climbed to No.1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart, as the buoyant hit single "Stuck on You" garnered the attention of influential tastemakers worldwide and found numerous placements in film and on television.
Fortunately for longtime fans, Meiko has maintained an affinity for honest, conversational lyrics. The eleven songs on "Dear You" consist primarily of her private, unsent letters. "I like writing letters: love letters, pissed-off letters, breakup letters," she said in a recent press statement. "Call me passive-aggressive, but it's easier to write someone a letter than actually confront them in person." While writing letters can be an outlet for overwhelming feelings, Meiko says she rarely sends them. Instead, she prefers to turn those feelings into songs, a process that became the basis for her "Dear You" album.

"Dear You"'s decidedly darker tone is, in many ways, the flipside to the sunnier disposition fans found on "The Bright Side." Longing, betrayal, heartbreak and reprisal are intimately acknowledged and explored here, supported by Meiko’s increasingly stripped down, sophisticated songwriting. Meiko professes, "It's not all candy and roses, but sometimes you just need the grit and that's exactly how I imagined 'Dear You' being completely confessional. It was good for my soul and I'm happy to finally let it out into the world."
"Be Mine," her new album's glistening first single, is an honest admission and plea to a lover. The mid-tempo, guitar-driven song with Meiko's crystalline sweet voice across the top. The song is a confessional track that finds her pining after desired love. "I take a sip of the bottle, it's my remedy," she sings. "And I know that it is a problem; I am dealing with it on the daily." Now, Meiko has released the music video for "Be Mine," and in it, Meiko says that the song is about needing a shag, since she was missing her long-distance boyfriend when she wrote it. We're lovin' her breathy-sexy-kitten-like voice.

Yuna moseys through a nice day in "I Wanna Go"

David Cook | "Light On" (Video)

David Cook was born December 20, 1982 in Texas. "Light On" is the 1st official single to be released from American Idol season 7 winner's major label debut studio album, "David Cook", and it was released iTunes and Amazon today. The song also displays David's powerful upper register, with the singer hitting a high C at the end of each verse.

The music video for "Light On" was shot on October 21 and 22 at the Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee Florida , it was also shot at " The Lunchbox " a local diner in Tallahassee with Wayne Isham as the director. The video is a performance video of Cook singing on a stage in the football stadium, and also features a plot of a teenage boy working at a diner. A teenage girl, portrayed by Mika Boorem, walks into the diner and he watches her, becoming jealous when her boyfriend comes to the diner. Near the end, the girl fights with her boyfriend in his car, after he hit on some girls at the diner before her eyes, and gets out of the car, but he drives away and leaves her stranded there, late at night. The boy from the diner shows up on his bike and gives her a ride home on the handlebars of the bike. The video debuted at #1 on VH1's Top 20 Countdown on November 22.

Colbie Caillat | "Realize" (Video)

Colbie Caillat was born May 28, 1985 in California. "Realize" is the 2nd single from her debut album, "Coco" and was officially released today. The song is an acoustic folk-pop song, where Colbie sings of having feelings for a best friend. Allmusic said "she sings about simple, everyday things in an unassuming manner, letting her melodies and girl-next-door charm carry the day".

The video was filmed in Canada. Colbie and her best friend both left a note for each other, and the two discover that neither is home, and slip their notes under each others doors. Instead of leaving, the friend decides to sit and wait at Colbie's door, and Colbie is shown arriving as the two exchange smiles.

I'm pretty like Colbie's singing style, and have a lot of favorite singles: Battle, Bubbly, Capri, Feelings Show, Kiss The Girl, Magic, Mistletoe, Older, Onde Fire Wire, Oxygen, Tailor Made and The Little Things.

Coldplay | "Clocks" (Video)

Coldplay are a British alternative rock band formed in London, England in 1998. "Clocks" was released in the U.S. as the 2nd single from their 2nd album, "A Rush of Blood to the Head". Built around a repeating piano riff, the song features cryptic lyrics of contrast and urgency themes. "Clocks" won Record of the Year at the 2004 Grammy Awards, and, to date, is one of Coldplay's most successful songs.

A music video was filmed in support of the song. It was directed by British film maker Dominic Leung, and shot at Docklands' ExCeL Building in London. It features the band performing the song, with a laser show, in front of a staged audience, mostly local college students. Stage effects and blue-red light transitions give the video a surreal feel, not to mention the stoic crowd that make up the audience. Other favorite singles from Coldplay: "Viva la Vida" and "Speed Of Sound".

John Mayer | "Your Body Is A Wonderland" (Video)

John Mayer was born in Connecticut on October 16, 1977. The "Your Body Is a Wonderland" is the 2nd single from his debut album, "Room for Squares" in 2001. This song was inspired by his ex-girlfriend, the actress/singer Jennifer Love Hewitt. John won a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Your Body Is a Wonderland”in 2003. In his acceptance speech he remarked, "This is very, very fast, and I promise to catch up."

The video starred the actress Holly Lynch. John also won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for "Continuum" and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Waiting on the World to Change" in 2007. I like his blues-rock styles, such as "Gravity", "Say", "Free Falling", and "Daughters".
