5 Seconds Of Summer debuts clip for "Good Girls"

It was clear 5 Seconds Of Summer were up to no good when they posed for mugshots on the cover of new single "Good Girls." The band then confirmed it by teasing the chaotic video, which was filmed in an abandoned prison as boys are trouble. and the cinematic music video is a hugely enjoyable romp that finds the guys being hired by a reform school to soothe the students with their "classical music," while trying to calm some delinquent girls from boredom.
The Aussie rockers sure know how to keep fans on their toes. They hammed it up in their performance-based "She Looks So Perfect" video before taking a sweet, nostalgic approach to "Amnesia." With its girls-behind-bars theme and camp flair, "Good Girls," the fourth single from the Australian band's self-titled debut album, is the band's most ambitious and exciting offering yet.
Speaking about the song, the band's guitarist Michael Clifford said: "It was one of the first songs that me and Ashton wrote. We wrote it with a guy called Roy Stride, he's from Scouting for Girls, a guy called Josh Wilkinson and a guy called George Tizzard and... Rick Astley. Roy came to us with the lyric 'good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught' and at first it didn't strike to me." the drummer Ashton Irwin added: "It didn't strike to him, but I was like 'Roy, you're a genius.'"
Shot at Lincoln Heights Jail (an old prison that closed in 1965) in Los Angeles, the clip shows the Australian four-piece pretend to be classical musicians, hired by the director of a prison facility where "bad girls" are held and asked to soothe and calm some delinquent divas in the “Reform School for Bad Girls” with classical musical. But, instead of soothing the girls in a clever twist, these boys play a beat that only further corrupts the girls behind bars. Check out the rebellious clip below.

5 Seconds Of Summer throws an "Amnesia" party

5 Seconds of Summer has unveiled a new music video for their song "Amnesia," appears in 5 Seconds of Summer's self-titled debut album that debuted at No.1 on Billboard 200 earlier this week. The four-minute visuals opens with the group consisting of Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin performing the heartbreaking ballad in an abandoned summer home, while featuring some flashback scenes showing the boys and their girlfriends having fun together during a summer day. It's full of all the teenage angst we would expect from the Aussie pop-rock boy band.
This regretful track "Amnesia," was co-written by Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden along with Louis and Michael Biancaniello and Louis' frequent songwriting partner, Sam Watters, is due for release in the UK on September 7. It finds the guys unable to escape the memories of a failed relationship. While the lyric video for the heartbreaking ballad was filled with painful memories of a relationship gone wrong, the latest promo is a flashback to what seems to be an epic summer day, and sees the lads leave behind their underwear and superhero costumes to have some fun with some pals instead!
In the video, the boys are suffering from a pretty sad breakup, and decide what better way to get over that heartache than to write a song about it. 5 Seconds of Summer wish they could just forget about their past relationship, saying "I wish that I could wake up with amnesia, and forget about this stupid little thing." However, despite the emotional undertones of the lyrics, the boys seem to be having an all out ball in the video. They throw a pool party, golf on top of their station wagon, and drink outside a 7-11, while having shopping cart races.
The video kicks off with Ashton meeting the guys for band practice in a garage, where they used to get together before hitting it big in Australia. The promo is intercut with shots of Aussie pop-rock group meeting up some friends as they race shopping carts, go on a road trip, play golf on top of a car and have a pool party, complete with blow-up giraffes, an astronaut costume, lots of water guns and really wet skinny jeans. 5 Seconds of Summer save world in "Don't Stop"

Summer is the time for superhero movies to hit the multiplex, and two weeks after "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" opening, the guys of 5 Seconds of Summer donned the tights and capes as superheroes for the movie trailer-inspired music video to their new single, "Don't Stop," the second single comes from Australian pop rock band's self-titled debut album, due out July 22nd. The quartet will celebrate the release by once again joining One Direction on tour, beginning on August 4th. The new video is a trailer for their own fake summer blockbuster.
The song's comic book-themed clip ties into the anti-bullying effort the band launched in support of Ashton's sister after the 5 Seconds of Summer member tweeted, "Can't believe people pick on my sister at school, one day they will realize individuality is a beautiful thing, I love you Lauren, be tough." Fans took hold of the tweet and #5SOSFamLovesLauren immediately trended worldwide. Director Sophia Ray told MTV News the clip was inspired by the 5 Seconds of Summer fanbase. "We wanted her to signify all of their fans," she said, "all the people that they're serving through this anti-bullying campaign."
At the beginning of the clip, 5 Seconds of Summer unsuccessfully explore their new-found super powers. It isn't until they find one another that they're able to save a damsel in distress and beat up some ninjas. Before 5 Seconds of Summer leaps into action, each member pulls out his superhero costume from their parents' garage, a dresser drawer and the laundry hamper. And while our traditional heroes had powers of invisibility, flight, Spidey vision and all that, these young Australian foursome have guitars and charm, whether they're rockin' out on a rooftop or saving the world from danger in their homemade costumes in full-on superhero gear.
In the clip, the Aussie pop-punkers get silly, seductive and supernatural as they dressed in faux muscle-filled leotards becomes a crime-fighting team that not only saves the world by taking on ninjas, picking up litter and helping old ladies safely cross the street, whether these ladies want them to or not, but, more importantly, after practicing some moves in their bedrooms, the boys find the courage to venture out into the unknown and save a missing cat. Yes, the kitties of the world are safe in the hands of this band of masked crusaders. If "Don’t Stop" was made into an actual feature, it would probably be a blockbuster.
