Jessie James Dropped "When You Say My Name"

With one pop album under her belt, Jessie James is hoping to break through in the genre where her heart always was, country music. The 23-year-old has just dropped a new video on CMT for her current single, "When You Say My Name," the lead single from the former pop starlet's upcoming sophomore album due out late summer. The new track is also the first official single to be sent to country channels since her transition to country music was completed. It looks like the country-pop hybrid isn't wasting any time making a splash in the country world.
James is a talented flok singer who continues to straddle the country and pop genres. "When You Say My Name" is her most country effort to date, yet it still makes hits from crossover artists like Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift feel steeped in Nashville traditionalism. James clearly wants to be a country artist, and she has a voice strong enough to stand up on its own. The ultra cute & catchy, country/pop-ish tune is progress, but it ultimately ends up short of what even the most open-minded country music fans will be likely to embrace.
James, a larger-than-life talent, has that throaty, country roughness thing going on in her vocals, but really, it sounds a little too forced to be genuine. James still has some pop connections, however. The move to country seems like destiny. Most likely everyone was expecting James to come out with a "Wanted" 2.0 (her biggest hit yet) but she made it clear that she's a "country girl at heart," putting her foot down country music is in fact her thing, and that she wouldn't be comfortable just recording pure pop songs.
The newly-premiered Kristin Barlowe-directed music video perfectly captures the essence of the song. It shows James just hanging in her house, in a sexy pajama, feeling really happy about the beginning of a new relationship. She's so crazy in love, and just can't help but jumping on the sofa, dancing with a broom, or just doing silly stuff with her boyfriend. The clip ends with the boyfriend surprising her with a romantic dinner outside the house, but all they wanna do is dance closely, and hold each other.

Jessie James Calling 'Dear John' To Bed In Video

American country/pop starlet Jessie James sings to a man named John while lying in her underwear in bed in the sexy music video for her new single "Dear John." The new track is the second single, follow up her first hit "Boys in the Summer" from her upcoming sophomore studio album "Daughter of a Gypsy." After a long-delay, the music video is finally cleared for a release, displaying the sultry singer seems to completely confess her love and calling her lover 'John' to come back to bed.
A larger-than-life talent in a petite package, the "little-bit-of Greek, and predominantly Italian" James has been ready for her close-up for her career. Described as 'southern pop,' James's music is a candid celebration of her pop and country influences. Lately, she's been hinting that she's not being true to herself by continuing along the path of pop music. "I've wanted to do country music my whole life," she says. "But I'm really inspired by the pop world as well. I love both Christina Aguilera and Shania Twain, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that."
James carries the torch for southern pop, as the 22-year-old Georgia girl comes with the heat, this young spitfire is full of talent, and as we found out, she's a spirit all her own. She's working on a new album which sees her transition from pop to country. She wrote on Twitter, "Gonna make a real country record finally!!!! being a southern girl and having to hide it has been tuff! thank u Jesus for the chance!" Although she can compete with the current wave of hit pop divas, James is out to forge her own unique path to the top.
"I'm an Italian girl from the south who's very passionate," she says. "Love is what makes you do everything. It really does conquer all. With my first album, I was writing about empowerment hoping that would make it true. And now it is. I'm in charge. I make the rules. I've been writing since I was nine years old and I'm very much involved in the creative process. And now that I'm in a happier place in my personal life, I'm spitting songs out left and right." It's no wonder James didn't wait to put out her second album. And we're all the luckier for it.

Jessie James Premiered "Boys In The Summer"

The sexy Georgian country-pop Jessie James debuted two music video for "Boys In the Summer" on Friday as a part of CMT Big New Music Weekend. The special videos are aimed to promote the country mix of the song, while the other is to support the pop version. "Boys In the Summer" was produced by John Fields and is the lead single from her upcoming sophomore studio album, is a refreshing reminder of the singer's unique ability to blend pop music tropes with rollicking country guitars to create a sound that's truly her own.
"Boys in the Summer" is one of those rare tracks that seem to capture everything good and pure about summer. The 22-year-old Georgia stunner James in case you hadn't heard is on the cusp of becoming country music's next 'it' girl, after having garnered critical and popular acclaim with her debut eponymous EP, which came out in 2009. The new song's message may be self-evident, but when James belts out, "Boys, Boys so much hotter in the summer," it suddenly seems to take on an entirely new and inspiring message. And let's be honest, when a Maxim Top 100 girl like James sings about skinny dipping with gorgeous men in the dead heat of summer, it's enough to get the attention of men and women alike.
The music video was shot on May 18 and directed by Roman White, who's previously shot several videos for Carrie Underwood. Taylor Swift, as well as Kelly Clarkson. The two music videos are similar, highlighting the joy in summer when the boys go shirtless and the girls come out in shorts. Under the shining sun, they are seen frolicking on the grass and swimming in the lake, not to mention selling lemonade on the front yard. It's a great fun clip, but the song itself is even better. It's fresh like lemonade and our favorite summer love tune!
A big talent in a petite, power-packed package, James has been ready for her close-up since she was the age of two, and she said "I've known this is what I was supposed to do since I was 10, I didn't want to limit myself to just one kind of music. I've never written a song I didn't feel true to. Everything I've ever done is a true story. I feel everything I write. I can't fake it." For James, music is her life, her passion, her lover. She won’t even date, with her focus saved strictly for her career. She has no other choice. And now, she is fully prepared to see all those childhood dreams finally come true.

Jessie James | "I Look So Good (Without You)"

After being previewed through a behind the scene clip, Jessie James' "I Look So Good (Without You)" music video has finally arrived, showing Jessie breaking up with her boyfriend. Instead of letting herself being drawn into devastation, she does her best to become herself again by hanging out with her girl friends and changing her appearance to look fresher.
"I Look So Good (Without You)" is a pop ballad song, written by herself, Rodney Jerkins and Savan Kotecha, that talks about a girl point of view, that stay fine and better (lookin' good) without her boyfriend. It was released as the second single off Jessie James's debut self-titled album on Pop stations on August 25th and on HAC stations on September 14th, according to AllAccess.com.
The song has been received positive reviews, so far. Rudy Klapper from Sputnikmusic gave a favorable review saying: "James is at her best when she's imitating Aguilera's brazen sass on the rhyming verses of 'the song,' perhaps the only tolerable real ballad on the album."
The music video was shot on August 8 in Malibu. It was directed by Chris Baldwin and features James getting through a hard time by having her girl friends around and doing a makeover. Jessie says the concept of the video is about her breaking up with her boyfriend and then trying to "become [herself] again without the guy." The music video premiered August 25 on "It's on With Alexa Chung" on MTV.

Jessie James Releases Self-titled Debut Album

21 year-old newcomer Jessie James is releasing her self titled debut album, "Jessie James," and it's available at AmazonMP3 for only $1.99 today. The album, a mix of country-inspired pop, with 12 tracks and is led by the radio hit, "Wanted" hits stores Tomorrow, but Amazon is offering it a day early at least $6 less in most stores.
Jessie was born April 12, 1988 on a military base in Italy, and moving around the country for most of her childhood and adolescent years, Jessie took harbor in music, and its paid off. She never knew there was supposed to be a difference; her boots-and-beats debut is equal parts Carrie Underwood and Christina Aguilera. Jessie falters on a handful of snoozy power ballads but plays one heck of a small-town sex kitten on up-tempo numbers like 'Blue Jeans,' where she claims her tight pants get her into the club for free, and 'My Cowboy,' a sly country-rap jam.
James says she wanted to make music that was empowering to women. "I remember growing up and listening to other artists like Christina Aguilera and Shania Twain were I just felt empowered, and I felt great about myself. I wanted to make music just like that." But with looks like that, she certainly won't be limiting her fan base to the female gender. Destined to steal her way into the heart of pop and create her own legend, Jessie was lucky enough to get signed quickly to Mercury Records. This petite powerhouse with amazing vocal power and range will soon release "Wanted", the leading single from Jessie's debut album.
"I only want to be wanted by you," belts out newly minted pop diva on “Wanted," and it’s love at 1st listen. The music video of "Wanted" was shot on March 28, directed by Travis Kopach in LA. Actor Erik Von Detten cameo on video as a cop agent that pursuit Jessie, and he kisses her in the end. Jessie's songs are well done and her voice is just fine and dandy. For Jessie, music is her life, her passion, her lover. She won’t even date, with her focus saved strictly for her career. She has no other choice. And now, she is fully prepared to see all those childhood dreams finally come true. Jessie’s self-titled bow proves she’s more than ready to seize her moment.
