Bridgit Mendler get her mind off "Hurricane"

Bridgit Mendler gets in a little girl time with Naomi Scott in her brand-new video for her new track, "Hurricane," the second single from the former's debut album, "Hello My Name Is..." as she explained about the record. "It's kind of funky, jazzy, pop music with a little bit of R&B. Each song is pretty unique and has its own style and inspiration, so hopefully people will enjoy the diversity!" The 20-year-old actress/singer is poised to make the difficult transition from child star to bona fide pop singer.
The midtempo pop song, "Hurricane" exhibits elements of reggae fusion and R&B. Built on a beat, multi-tracked harmonies, the song's instrumentation includes slow-bouncing keyboard tones, and drums. Mendler's heavily rapping skills have been compared to Cher Lloyd, Lily Allen and Karmin. She tries to spit a few bars and throws her hand at rapping in this cool, laid-back track with some reggae influence, but is fast paced at times. The single is quite catchy and shows off the infectious and witty aspects of Mendler's skills. "Hurricane," which allows for many sing-along moments, uses the storm as a metaphor for her feelings towards a love interest.
Lyrically, the song gives ode to disaster love, reconciliation and perseverance in love. In interview for Coup de Main Magazine, Mendler commented about recording a rap song for the first time. She said: "I loved recording the rap in 'Hurricane.' That was pretty fun. It was very experimental for me, I haven't done much rapping before. It was not a deliberate decision... we had written the song and I had come in to record it and then the guys were like: "Why don't we just try rapping this part?" So I did and then it kind of just worked and we decided to keep it. So not intentional, but sometimes things just happen in the moment."
Mendler really shows off her vocal chops with a powerful and talented voice in the song, "I'm boarding up the windows, locking up my heart," but in the song's video, despite what teasers indicated, she refuses to wallow for long, follows the Disney star through a day and her BFF takes her out post-split to get her mind off her stormy union in London from waking up to a crazy evening dance party with her friends. As "Lemonade Mouth" star against a white background dancing it up with a New York City T-shirt and then takes a whirlwind tour of London, which starts at a museum and ends on the dance floor - not a bad way to cope up with a breakup, and it's up to her girlfriends to get her out of the storm's path for good.

Bridgit Mendler broke out in "Ready or Not"

On-the-verge Disney star Bridgit Mendler gets her groove on in her music video for her recently released single, “Ready Or Not,” the first single off of the 19-year-old actress turned singer's upcoming debut studio album, "Hello My Name Is," which drops on October 22 through Hollywood Records. “Yeah, it's not just about meeting some guy at night, it's about self confidence. I thought it was a great introduction song. It represents the style of my album in a good way and sends a fun message,” Mendler once said.
The song is about a shy girl who decides it's time to break out of her shell and Mendler definitely broke out of her own shell with this one. "I wanted to write something that was empowering for girls," she said in a press release. "I consider myself to have been that girl sitting on the curb waiting for the world to notice." The fun song is an upbeat, bright and sunny dance song, but it's by no means a club banger. Mendler is sugary sweet, but she isn't afraid to turn up the spice and the sass, from a lyrical perspective. She sings about being amidst a pack of people.
Mendler sings it like she means it, like a girl with a crush on the prowl. Even so, this is not a 'throw ya hands up' dance jam fit for the drinking set. Bolstered by a backbeat that follows her voice throughout the song, "Ready or Not" will inspire pre-teen girls to grab their hairbrushes and use them as makeshift microphones while they sing in front of a mirror. It's a cute, frothy, female-leaning pop gem. Overall, "Ready or Not" is a catchy - addictive, really - pop ditty that'll get stuck in your brain, much like a splinter under your skin, whether you like it or not.
Mendler is highlighting the sights of Los Angeles in the Philip Andelman-directed clip. With a group of friends in tow, she takes on the city, crossing off items on a crazy scavenger hunt all through Hollywood, including the vibrant beach and boardwalk of Venice. She hits a sushi restaurant, indulges in hula hooping, drives around in a convertible and soaks up the California sunshine, while performing her new single. We really feel like it shows off a whole new side of the actress.

Disney starlet Bridget Mendler is ready to change the world! The 18-year-old talented who starred in "Lemonade Mouth" has premiered her first music video for the inspiring new pop/rock anthem, "We Can Change the World" on Disney Channel. The actress-singer is not usually the Yellow Team's skipper, but she's moreover the voice and co-wrote a song with Joacim Persson that will be the anthem for Disney's Friends for Change, which is a multi-platform initiative that helps inspire kids and families to join together and make a positive impact on their world.
As the anthem for Disney's Friends for Change initiative, "We Can Change the World" is Mendler's contribution in the effort to benefit global charities. The new anthem song aims to entertain and inspire to create positive change and raise money for a good cause! The song is the third Disney's Friends for Change anthem and will donate $250,000 dollars to Disney's Worldwide Conservation fund benefiting charities all over the world. Previous songs have helped raise more than $800,000 for conservation projects around the globe.
Mendler shared, "I love that Disneys' Friends for Change games pairs up with a musical project because I think music is a great way of spreading a message in a fun way that kids will listen." Mendler hopes the anthem will cause global change on a personal level. "The concept is really just to universalize the message that we can change the world. So, you have me singing the song and then all these kids from around the world, spreading the message of changing the world and doing their part. I hope people listen to the song and be inspired by it and also take action in your own way."
The "We Can Change the World" song and music video are designed to both entertain and inspire ways to initiate positive change. The video was directed by Art Spigel and filmed late last month. Mendler takes core theater on tip of a hill in the video, which sees Mendler and kids from around the world along with Disney Channel stars Valeria Baroni (Argentina), Jorge Blanco (Mexico), Olavo Cavalheiro (Brazil), Nicole Ishida (Japan), Murtuza Kutianawala (India) and Eve Ottino (France), are featured.

Lemonade Mouth “Somebody” Music Video

Now that "High School Musical" is over and out, Disney is planning the debut of their new musical movie set in high school, "Lemonade Mouth." The flick is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Mark Peter Hughes, and follows the (mis)adventures of five Rhode Island disparate teens who bond over detention and create a new band. The detention buddies try to organize a student-led fight to save the school's one organic frozen-lemonade machine that becomes the mascot of their band.
Directed by the award winning Patricia Riggen and executive-produced by Debra Martin Chase, "Lemonade Mouthh" showcases a talented cast, led by popular stars of Disney Channel hits: Bridgit Mendler as lead vocalist Olivia White; Adam Hicks as keyboardist Wen Giford; Hayley Kiyoko as electric guitarist Stella Yamada; Naomi Scott as bass guitarist Mohini; and newcomer Blake Michael as percussionist Charlie Delgado. "Lemonade Mouth" was filmed on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will premiere on the Disney Channel on April 15.

The song was taken from the "Lemonade Mouth" soundtrack, will include nine original songs, and available nationwide on April 12. The music on the soundtrack is a rich blend of rock, dance, hip-hop and pop styles. The debut single, "Somebody," is a moving, hope-filled power ballad. Mendler may be the next big thing and Disney seems to agree. The 18-year-old actress is seen jamming with her co-stars and romping around the garage with them in this newly-revealed music video.
