Katy B giving us a lesson "What Love is Made of"

British urban pop starlet Katy B is back, takes to the streets and giving us a lesson in the brand new gloomy music video for her stand-along rave-pop track, "What Love Is Made Of," the lead single to come from Katy's soon to be announced second album, which is expected for release in October via Rinse/Columbia. The mellow house-pop track is out on July 8, and it's also the follow-up to the 24-year-old singer's 2011 debut album "On A Mission." Apparently it's made of street racing and dancing which is exactly what I thought!
Back in March, Katy revealed that she had nearly completed work on her sophomore studio album. "Everything is great," she said of the record. "I've basically got some great tracks and I think I'll just keep writing until the end. A lot of stuff is getting mixed and mastered at the moment, so you just never know when you can just write something special at the last minute." Katy also revealed that there were more tracks which "you can imagine me singing in my bedroom rather than in the middle of a dance floor", and went on to add: "Where I am in my life at the moment, and with my age group as well, I think reality has kind of kicked in."
Katy blew us away earlier this month with her scorching potential song-of-summer, "What Love Is Made Of." Seriously though Katy delivers an infectious synth-pop/trance track that makes you move your head without even realizing it. The upbeat number showcases an undeniably pop-heavy sound that is sure to warrant significant radio spin. Katy's vocals are so ethereal and flawlessness. If she is to be believed, love is made of catchy-as-hell hooks and bouncy synths that make you want to dance like school just let out for summer break.
The accompanying visuals is quite the butch affair, directed by Emil Nava who's taking inspiration from the movies, or, more specifically, the "Fast And Furious" franchise. The video features the "Aaliyah" singer in the middle of a melee of London boy racers, as Katy sings and scowls over the hot house/alt-disco beat and surveys all sorts of tricked-out rides with lights, glitter, and custom paint jobs. Katy not only gets involved in the world of underground of street racing, but she falls hard for a new and potentially dangerous love interest. Back away slowly, girl... this might not end well.

Jessie J Steps Out Of The Dark In "LaserLight"

Jessie J is back with a flurry of high notes in the video for her latest little escapade, "LaserLight," serves as the seventh overall single from the re-release of her debut LP, "Who You Are." The repackaged album will also include her international single "Domino" and brand new track "My Shadow." The David Guetta-produced, and 'Titanitum'-inspired cut, boast boisterous lyrics about a missing love, will be available for purchase on May 14th.
As you can imagine, the Guetta tune is an upbeat, shimmering dance-pop jam that has Jessie declaring, "You make me feel good, you make me feel safe, you make me feel like I could live another day." It sees the 24-year-old UK Pop powerhouse's collaborating with Guetta for a rather subdued and random track. The song may be 'generic' for Guetta's catalogue of songs, but for Jessie, it is exploring a new 'genre' in this new mellow/yet dance tune. Yet, it is clearly time for Jessie to progress to a new era of her career.
The French DJ has the ability to create that emotion down-to-a-tee with his derivative/reductive music production. So it's no surprise that it's just what Jessie is serving up on new for track "LaserLight." What struck me most about "LaserLight," is how concise the vocal is. No runs, no over the top belts, just a clean and solid delivery of a melody that finally allows a listener to appreciate her voice's tone and timbre without the audio/mental overload usually provided by the tricks and trills she so loves.
In the new video, the British pop diva steps out of the dark, and walking the city, in a movie theater, surrounded by many laser lights, and in the club. For the verses, she is seated in a dark movie theater and in the backseat of a car, with her hair slicked back off her forehead and giant hoop earrings. She's ever-fashionable, especially in that leather jacket with pointed, protruding spikes on the shoulders. Those are fierce, not to mention dangerous. When she rockets into the upbeat, bouncy chorus, she comes alive and springs to her feet, dancing, singing and surrounded by laserlights. Jessie is incredibly animated, using her hands, her face, her mouth and her eyes to express herself.

David Guetta Riffs On 'Super 8' In "Titanium"

For the music video for "Titanium," the first of three promotional singles and the fourth single off of his fifth album "Nothing But The Beat," David Guetta takes a dip into the cinematic and recruits "Super 8" star Ryan Lee for another supernatural tale. The single features vocals by Australian pop singer-songwriter Sia Furler. The most intriguing hook-up on the album, "Titanium" sees Guetta giving the Aussie songstress some long overdue commercial appeal, while Sia's vocals bring a quirky twist.
"Titanium" is a strong, light and corrosion-resistant metallic element. "Titanium" alloys are used in aircraft, armor plating, missiles, naval ships and spacecraft. clever writing from Sia. "Titanium" is an emotional near-ballad which draws from the genres of pop, house and urban-dance. The song's lyrics are about inner strength. Sia's vocals on "Titanium" received comparisons to those by Fergie and the song was also musically compared to Coldplay's work. Critics were positive towards the song and noted it as one of the standout tracks from "Nothing but the Beat."
Guetta once explained: "That song is interesting because it's different from anything else on the album. All of the guests on the album are from pop and R&B, and 'Titanium' is a little bit like a UFO flying over it all because Sia is a more of an indie artist. I think she's the only white girl on the record [Laughs]. I fell in love with the song. At first, she wrote that song and demoed it. She wanted to give it to another artist, but I felt her voice is so incredible and the song is so emotional that I really wanted her to stay on it. The song also uses some acoustic elements which is very different from what I usually do. I think it makes it very interesting."
The video features a high schooler (played by Lee) running for his life after accidentally exposing his hidden power at his school. As the Sia-assisted single revs up, Lee's character slowly makes his way through a deserted, totally destroyed school hallway, eyeing a teacher who's stricken with fear. Soon the viewer realizes that the boy is the cause of the damage, and the one to be afraid of the little man can move objects with his mind. The clip ends with a showdown in the woods between Lee and SWAT team, and after Sia sings, "Shoot me down/But I won't fall/I am titanium," the kid blows his enemies away.
