Lauren Alaina Gets Sassy In "Georgia Peaches"

As American Idol begins ramping up to its season premiere, the last year's runner-up Lauren Alaina struts her way through the feisty new video for her second single, "Georgia Peaches." The Georgia native has a blast hanging out at a diner with her closest friends to celebrate her southern sassiness. She shows off her inner sassy self, immediately catching the attention of some cute guys who've been hanging out in there.
The slimmed-down country cutie sasses it up as she dances along to the high-energy track. Alaina, 17, continues to grow more confident in front of the camera and the super catchy song, from her debut, "Wildflower," is a fun, upbeat ditty that is meant to brighten up a winter's day. "The song just spoke to me when I heard it. I felt like I could have written it myself. I am a proud Georgia Peach!"
The track shows off Alaina's fun side, but also adds a rougher edge that listeners would not have expected from the girl on the beautified cover art. Clearly, the songwriters, Mallary Hope, Blair Daly and Rachel Proctor, penned this up-tempo Country-Rock tune with the young Georgia native in mind. "It's one of my favorites on the album. It is uptempo and a song that everyone can dance to. It's great because it says there is nothing sweeter than Georgia peaches, and in the bridge it welcomes people in who aren't from Georgia," said Alaina.
Its accompanying music video was shot at the Sylvan Park Melrose, a restaurant in Nashville. Talking about the video, Alaina explained, "I kind of have to learn how to sassy walk, they don't like redneck walkin'. I just have to shake my booty a little bit, I guess." The sassy, silly and innocuous clip, which features the Idol alum at the center of one knee-slappin' good time at a neighborhood diner, reveals the singer's sneaky and bold personality, as well as her new trimmed down figure.

Lauren Alaina Debuts "Like My Mother Does"

Lauren Alaina has just premiered video for her debut single and potential coronation song "Like My Mother Does" Monday on CMT. It features her sitting on the porch of a beautiful Southern-style house and flashes pictures from her childhood which shows her journey from then until what she becomes now. The uplifting ode to maternal love and strength is the first offering from Alaina's upcoming first studio album which is yet to be titled. "I cannot wait for my album to come out and I can't wait for my fans to know when it's coming," she gushed.
She was the runner-up on Season 10 of American Idol, where her strong vocal performances earned comparisons to the genre's premier vocalists, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride. It was during Idol that she first heard "Like My Mother Does." "When they started playing it for me, I started crying because I went through this whole crazy journey and the only person who was there for me every step of the way was my mom. She didn't get any praises for it and I got all of the attention. I thought the song would be a great way to say thank you for her for all that she does for me. When she came in and heard it, she cried. It was a sign. Everybody was crying, even the piano player."
From Rossville, Georgia, Alaina is ready to take the music world by storm. Or at least by sweet, sentimental melody. The 16-year-old tells her journey from childhood to stardom, and shows who the person she thanks the most is in Shaun Silva-directed clip. "The video is all about my mom and it has footage from my childhood and pictures of me and my family while I was growing up," says Alaina. "It's all projected on this beautiful Southern-style house. It's really great. It shows my life, so people will know more about me after they see it."
She's now recording her debut album with Nashville producer Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Tim McGraw). "It's definitely going to be country," she says. "I like singing uptempo, but I also like a good ballad every now and then. Country music has a way of telling a story that you automatically connect with when you hear it," adds Alaina. Her debut album will showcase a voice that is mature and powerful beyond its teen years. Alaina embarks on this next chapter with a newfound confidence and a polished set of performing skills.
