Agnes Gets Emotional With "One Last Time"

Swedish singer Agnes who won our hearts over with her huge dance hit "Release Me" has instead chosen to make her comeback with a brand new video for her latest pop ballad, "One Last Time," the lead single taken from her upcoming fourth studio album that's scheduled to release this Summer. This time around, the Swedish Idol alum is ditching the high energy dance beats to go a more mature adult contemporary route with her newest ode to fractured love, "One Last Time." is heart crushingly sweet and a power ballad to the core.
"One Last Time" is an epic power ballad seen through a kaleidoscope of Swedish indie-pop and the lyrics are simplistic yet very poignant. It's a hugely emotional song about coming to the painful realization that your other half doesn't want you anymore, and so pleading with them to be held just one last time. The 24-year-old songstress delivers a depressingly stunning vocal performance, reaching for the emotional jugular with a scarily accurate description of the exact moment you're being let go by a lover.
As such, her vocal on it remains fragile throughout only it's been tuned out and turned into a haunting and ghostly cry by studio effects. Agnes said in an interview that the inspiration for the song came from a nightmare that she had one night, where she had "fucked up everything" regarding her relationship: "This is the most emotional song I have ever written. When you write a song that means a lot to you, it becomes a part of yourself. That's the case with "One Last Time." I hope I can touch people with it."
Shot in Stockholm, the Amir Chamdin-directed black-and-white clip is all about the drama and Agnes' big hair. It starts with Agnes walking through the woods, and by the beach, and continues with her sitting on the floor, singing, lying on a parking lot together with the man and crying until it ends with the same scene it started with. The idea behind the video is to describe how it feels when you have wrecked something that means really much to you. The tears that Agnes shed during the clip is real, and she couldn't stop bursting into tears during the filming of the music video.

Agnes Goes French On "Sometimes I Forget" Clip

Swedish pop princess Agnes premiered a brand new music video on M6's official YouTube channel for her third single "Something I Forget" from her hit album "Dance Love Pop" in France. The chosen track is "Something I Forget," which as her previous singles released in the mentioned country has been edited to include several verses in French. The track was written by Anders Hansson, Steve Diamond and Agnes. I love this song as much as I love pretty much the entire of this album. And I don't mind really the French edit, Agnes still showcasts beautiful and at the same time amazing vocals.
The track "Sometimes I Forget" was first heard on Agnes' third album "Dance Love Pop," released in 2008 in Sweden. When "I Need You Now" was chosen as the third single across Europe, Agnes french label Sony Music decided a different path for her and released "Sometimes I Forget" as the follow up to her previous massive success of singles "Release Me" and "On and On", which combined has sold over 160,000 copies in France. Like the previous singles, a French version was recorded in January 2010 for the single release, and together with a couple of new remixes a Promo CD was released to radio and television in mid-February.
The Swedish singer is opting for some French lyrics in this newly release ballad. "Sometimes I Forget" was featured on the compilation album "M6 Hits 2010" which was released as digital download on March 15, the very same day that the music video premiered. Though it has yet not been released as a proper single. The music video for "Sometimes I Forget" was filmed in Gothenburg, Sweden on March 3, and is a mix between the 2 versions of the song (the French and the English one). Just like Agnes' earlier videos for "On and On", the international and the UK edit, it was directed by Torbjörn Martin and the production agency is STARK production.
The video starts of with Agnes sitting in front of a make-up table in her dressing room, wearing a 1940-ies peach silkrobe and Swarowski crystals. This scene shifts with intermediate sequences of Agnes in the backseat of a car, on her way to her concert and of her lying in bed singing. The video then shows her i a silver haute couture-dress backstage, walking through the corridors to the stage. She then enters the stage where she is met by flashlights and an audience applauding frenetically. She steps up to an old 1940-ies microphone and starts to sing the chorus. In the end, the light turns off and the hall seems empty and Agnes walks out the the sound of her shoes echoing through the room.

Agnes's Dance Beats "I Need You Now" Video

Swedish pop princess Agnes Carlsson is back and made a nice video for her second single "I Need You Now" in the UK, the follow-up to her last summer top three and breakthrough international hit "Release Me," dominating the airwaves and dancefloors for months. It's another pop/dance offering taken from her third album, "Dance Love Pop."
The new single "I Need You Now" was written by Anders Hansson and Sharon Vaughn. It was released as the album's fourth single in Sweden, and as Agnes' second single in the UK in a remixed form. The song has been re-recorded and completely reproduced over the last summer and premiered on November 16, 2009. Sticking to the classier end of the Europop spectrum, 'I Need You Now' marries soothing strings and unimposing dance beats before building into a heartfelt chorus that neatly showcases Agnes's powerful set of pipes. Agnes commented to The Sun on the song: "It's simple and direct, you can relate to it and I love the lyrics. The first time I heard it, I thought this is me. This is my life."
Agnes has been in the music game since 17 and is now 21. She won the Swedish Pop Idol competition in 2005 and the MTV Europe Awards "Best Swedish Act," she finally conquers Europe. The CEO of Interscope Records, Ron Fair says "She has it all. She is an amazing singer, looks good, is fearless and humble." He also described the former Idol winner as "a mix of Alanis Morissette, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera". Agnes is now ready to capitalize on the success of "Release Me" with her second single "I Need You Now."
The music video was shot in the Mojave desert at the El Mirage dry lake bed outside Los Angeles on October 4, 2009. It was directed by Paul Boyd. It contains Agnes driving the futuristic Aptera electric vehicle arrives in the middle of nowhere. Agnes steps out wearing a big black boots, a silver suit and carrying some high-tech binocular-style device, and then her concentration is broken by a Native American Indian who arrives on horseback probably looking for Agnes. In the end, the Indian finally sees her and allows her to ride atop his horse like the perfect gentleman he is and they ride on off into the sunset.
