Tamar Braxton embraces summer with 'The One'

With her first single "Love and War" holding strong at No.1 on the urban adult contemporary charts, Tamar Braxton is just in time to kick off summer with the fun and flirty new visual for her follow-up  flirtatious summer love ballad and feel-good summertime anthem, "The One," the second single to be featured on Tamar's forthcoming LP, "Love and War," Tamar's highly anticipated debut for Epic/Streamline, slated to hit stores in September.
Co-written by Tamar, Yung Berg and LaShawn Daniels, the easy breezy, infectious record, "The One," samples Notorious BIG's classic "Juicy," and Mtume's "Juicy Fruit," and does it major justice as she sings about being happily in love. It's got a nostalgic flair that's refreshing and Tamar's voice is melodically solid, and is already showing signs of becoming a classic on its own. The 36-year-old mom-to-be covered her baby bump in a set of overall shorts while singing under the sun on a boardwalk, as she waits for her man. "You know very well, who you are/ You're the only one, you've got my heart/ You've had a few, boy, one too many/ But I'm the only one to wake you up," she coos.
Reality TV starlet Tamar described the concept of the fun-filled, colorful video, as "just a summer throwback. It kinda gives you that feeling when you was in high school and you was with your boyfriend or your girlfriend and you go to the park and you hang out and you get all cutie, and it's just funners," but it's more than that it perfectly catches the spirit of the summer and the spirit of the song. A baby bump isn't stopping Tamar from showing off her playful side! The feel-good clip for "The One," which was directed by Gil Green, sees the pregnant R&B songstress wears a denim overall and channels her inner 90s Mariah Carey in the video to cover up some her huge belly, and take a trip in their bright yellow Jeep, enjoys herself at an amusement park with her attractive co-star, plays some carnival games, bust out some breakdancing moves, and chills on the Santa Monica Pier, and at the fair located on the boardwalk. The couple even get a caricature of themselves drawn too.

Surprised everyone when she topped the iTunes charts within 24 hours after shows off "Love and War," the younger Braxton sister Tamar Braxton is stepping from behind her sister's shadows and keeps the The Braxton family momentum going by unwrapping the black-and-white video for her a heartfelt and soaring ballad, which serves as the lead single and title track from her upcoming sophomore studio album of the same name, due February 12. The the song tells such a vivid, relatable story and its clip it exudes simplicity and romanticism.
Tamar originally intended the song "Hot Sugar," but "given everything that happened to Vince (her husband) and I this year, and everything we went through in our marriage, this song was fitting to me and Vince," the 34-year-old R&B singer explaining. "I've been in love before, and I've gotten my feelings hurt before but I've never experienced passion until I met Vince." She added "I've never argued this much with a person, and I've never loved this hard. That's what this song is about."
The soul stirring ballad is a powerful and passionate slice of soul pop, which showcases the singer's impressive and inimitable range. With an instantly unforgettable chorus resounding, Tamar belts out each note poignantly on the instantly unforgettable chorus, carrying the song into the pantheon of great music ruminating on the thin line between "Love and War." The meaning of the song goes way beyond a minor tiff between lovers. It is really about her marriage. Shot in the minimalist black and white, it shows a stunning Tamar hits the sandy beach and shares intimate moments with her hunky co-star and reflecting about their relationship at a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. "The concept is just about me and my man at home, and we're just trying to figure out our relationship because it's been so tumultuous," Tamar said. "We're so in love and we wanna fix it, but we can't escape all the obstacles that we've been going through. The video is all of those things - it's passionate, it's soft, it's sexy, it's sweet."
