Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding battle exes 'Outside'

Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding are at it again. Following the success of their previously collaborated on "I Need Your Love" from his 2012 album, "18 Months," the dynamic duo have collaborated once more for the new pop anthem, "Outside." Goulding flaunts her toned midriff area and her favorite brand of underwear as she's feeling the same pain and regret as Rita Ora and every other girl who has ever loved and lost Scottish DJ in their new video for "Outside," the latest single from Harris' fourth studio album, "Motion," released last month.
It's about decaying relationships. The EDM song acts as a darker sequel to their previous collaboration. Whilst "I Need Your Love" found Goulding singing about being enamored with her guy, this finds her breaking up with him as she wondering if breaking up with her ex was the best choice. "I'll show you what it feels like," sings the UK songstress in the hook, "now I'm on the outside," a mirror in front of her shatters and stops time as she temporarily reconnects and comes face to face with her ex.
So that's the plot the director used for the "Outside" video, takes this to the extreme. Opening to a trailer park, of all places, the colorful clip shows a casually clad Goulding on her knees and is lamenting the broken relationship on the ground in the middle of a street in broad daylight. Although it seems like an odd intro, there's more to the story than meets the eye. As it turns out, both musicians are stuck in troubled relationships that are rapidly imploding: there's fighting, screaming, hair-tearing, and crockery throwing, and both are itching for a way out.
The "Burn" singer has a new boyfriend who appears to be an alcoholic with a nasty temper, and Harris has moved on as well to someone with a similar penchant for arguing and throwing dishes. Both "exes" mediating whether splitting was an intelligent move. Hints of real-life troubles in paradise are sprinkled into the nearly four-minute video which works out fine with the original message of the song - two lovebirds thinking about the past. Outside seems like the safe place to be.

Ne-Yo can't escape stripper pole in "She Knows"

Ne-Yo loves the strip clubs but he can't seem to shake them when he's out doing errands, and he can’t escape the strip club either in the raunchy video for his latest banger "She Knows." The racy and humorous clip starring alongside the R&B singer and rapper Juicy J, as well as some talented pole dancers. The Juicy J-assisted urban track, "She Knows," is the latest single lifted from Ne-Yo's upcoming sixth album “Non Fiction,” which he's dubbing the "Rebirth of Storytelling," Ne-Yo is telling tales that stem from his own life and the lives of his fans.
But with "She Knows," a horn-infused club banger produced by Dr. Luke, Ne-Yo wanted to get you dancing. Or, really, get strippers dancing. "I wanted to make something for the strip club that isn't just for the strip club," he says. "It’s a record that could move. It's for the house party, for the strip club. It's something to get you going in the morning or before you head out for the night." "She Knows" is about a woman who has the confident and "swagger" to own the world (and she also knows how to “drop it down” with her sick body). Sonically, "She Knows" marries a "Problem"-style horn riff with a minimal trap beat, and comes out sounding very trendy indeed.

At first glance, the Emil Nava-directed risqué video featuring Juicy J may not seem like a ballad meant to empower women with a number of pole dancers performing in a series of rather inappropriate places, including a convenience store, a library, a sidewalk and an office. However, the 31-year-old R&B singer tips his hat to the skin-flaunting woman who is aware of her sex appeal and simply oozes confidence. In fact, the video features four women Ne-Yo hand selected, who own pole dancing studios, compete nationally or have competed in shows across the nation to be part of the video.
The clip shows Ne-Yo and his entourage having the time of their lives and slapping booties at a club. Each of the women have a story about who they are and why they decided to get into the sport of pole dancing. One of the dancers has a circus background, another is a stunt double and a third teaches classes at her own Los Angeles studio. Ne-Yo believes their individual stories give the song a whole new meaning and purpose. A woman "knows" she knows what she's doing when she walks into a room. "She's smart, sexy, and she owns it. Tiësto's lost in lonely space in 'Light Years Away'

The Dutch DJ/producer Tiësto just recently unveiled a visually stunning music video for his new single, "Light Years Away," featuring American minimal techno DJ DBX, off of Tiësto's newest studio album, "A Town Called Paradise," which was released in June. Not only is the song beautiful, but the futuristic video is absolutely mesmerizing which showcasing a distant galaxy being explored by a team in search of organic life.
It's been a big year for the Dutch superstar producer, who continues to find success in anyway possible. He's been able to consistently find ways to break his EDM influences in to pop-culture with seamless execution. "Light Years Away" continues the Dutchman's crusade of emotionally charged crossover dance music, with the whispery sounds of DBX's vocals to a pop-influenced EDM blended track. The accompanying video reflects the interstellar imagery of the track's title. Slick effects and colorful imagery serve as a fitting visual for the track's big hooks and addictive melody.
Set in a strange and unknown universe, the clip focuses on the life of a young lady living on a very distant lonely planet with the help of her robot assistant, as she examines her surroundings and searches for other forms of life. She is seen conducting research and using advanced technology to look for any signs of organic life on the bizarre planet she inhabits. She is clearly unhappy with where she lives, as is made evident from both scenes and lyrics "I don't know where I'm meant to belong/ I'm lost in space."
A robot loyally helps her with her research and takes care of her when she gets injured. At the end, she comes to realize the love the robot has for her and together they melt into a strange electronic screen where they dance and the woman finally finds happiness. The beat and tune both work well with the futuristic-like video and the story is interesting enough. It ends on a particularly compelling note with space and electronics combining.

Calvin Harris "Blame" It On The Night

Calvin Harris and John Newman hang out in a Hollywood Hills dwelling looking properly moody, blame it on the night and not on the fact that they're such players. Is stoicism a virtue? This is the question asked in Harris' new video for their killer track "Blame," albeit asked in between shots of young, model-esque women dancing with wild abandon. In the video, Harris gets to sleep with a woman that's totally in his league, while Newman will get to do the same but with a girl that would never see him with sexual attraction in real life.
The fairy-tale EDM turn "Blame," is the latest single, follow-up to Scottish DJ's hit tune "Summer," taken from his upcoming fourth studio album, and it's leading the midweek UK charts and broke yet another Spotify record now. "Blame" somehow feels fuller and more rounded-out, structurally, than much of his other output. Luckily for Harris, everything he touches these days seems to turn more golden than his glowing tan. The vocals, by British blue-eyed soul singer Newman, soulfully insists on the surging bridge, before it bursts into one of Harris' infectious four-to-the-floor choruses.
Back to the Emil Nava-directed video, it opens with Harris and Newman, play unavailable men in the midst of an existential crisis, each in their own perfectly appointed and urbane homes sitting on bed giving the back to the lady who's slept next to them. What troubles them is unknown, although Newman is pictured in a room designed in the style of the Playboy mansion alongside a woman in black négligée who happens to be unconscious, giving the viewer the idea that perhaps something wicked this way comes.
Midway through it becomes apparent the video's narrative will be more about the women - figures who at first were the window dressing to male angst take center stage. A twist is introduced when one central female figure in each of the vignettes takes a tumble down Alice's hole into Wonderland, in a spectacular, watery fashion. I guess the idea of the video is that the duo met the girls they slept with at the club, and instead of blaming it on their inextinguishable appetite for sex, they want to blame it on "night" for having met these sweet and innocent girls the previous night and had taken them to their houses.

Grimes wander through the circles of hell in "Go"

Canadian producer and electro-pop singer Grimes, known offstage as Claire Boucher, came out swinging in late June with "Go," her first song in two years. The tune signals a departure from the sound she established herself with, mostly, she explained at the time, because she had written it for Rihanna originally, but it was turned down when Rihanna chose not to record it, Grimes and collaborator Vancouver beatsmith Blood Diamonds then decided to reclaim the track for themselves. In her hands, the track features screams and drops and echoes; it's vibing just fine with the rollout for Grimes' highly-anticipated new album.
It's a truly epic bit of pop weirdness, and now her recent summer jam has a pretty wow-worthy video to match. It is a dizzy pileup of images: Black lights! Iron masks! Billowing silks! Big-ass swords! Intense Vapo-Rub dance moves! Sand dunes! Hair flips! It's a whole lot to process like next-level crazy and we mean that in a good way. In the past, Grimes music videos have brought Claire Boucher to a football game, a motocross rally, and deep into the woods. For her brand new "Go" video, she's out in the desert, visiting the Salton Sea, and dancing amongst mimes in a neon chamber. And really, the video was also partially inspired by Korn's "Freak On a Leash." Seriously.

Co-directed by Grimes with her brother Mac under the alias Roco-Prime, the cryptic clip is a sci-fi homage to Dante's Inferno features sweeping desert landscapes and casts Grimes as Dante and Blood Diamonds as Virgil. It even opens with the first lines from "Inferno," spoken over images of dancers moving in a dark. Eventually, her new "Go," the EDM-influenced lead single off her forthcoming LP, kicks in, and the singer wields swords and crosses deserts while wandering through her personal circles of hell. What happens next is a wild visual feast of claustrophobic demonic dance and gorgeous post-apocalyptic imagery in her Korn-inspired take on the epic poem.
"It's our take on Dante's 'Inferno.' The circles of hell reflect more contemporary issues though. In the 'Inferno,' people's actions in life echo eternally," Grimes explains on her Tumblr about the different scenes represent a contemporary take on Dante's infamous "circles of hell." "It's not a traditional hell, it kind of reflects stuff that's going on today. We shot a bunch at the Salton Sea, which is basically an apocalyptic wasteland filled with dead fish because of human carelessness, a hallway of bullet holes à la Korn 'Freak on a Leash.'" If that sounds like a lot, don't fret. "It is also abstract enough to just be a trippy visual accompaniment to the song," the singer concludes.

David Guetta unveiled "Lovers On The Sun"

David Guetta decided on a wild west theme for his new "Lovers On The Sun" music video. The track is the fourth single and the the title track taken from Guetta's newest four-track EP, along with "Shot Me Down," "Bad," and "Blast Off." French electro music producer and DJ teased the follow-up to 2011 breakthrough LP "Nothing But The Beat" with a trio of unusually hard electro-house buzz singles before retreating to more familiar ground on the Avicii-assisted, Sam Martin-voiced "Lovers On The Sun."

The blockbuster collaboration is one of those euphoric, vocal anthems you're probably expecting with a release like this. This summer jam is catchy and upbeat and features American singer-songwriter Sam Martin on vocals and was co-produced by Avicii and plugs into a similar country/folk/EDM hybrid as the Swedish DJ's own "Wake Me Up." This features guitar work by Mike Einziger of the rock band Incubus. The multi-instrumentalist also co-wrote the track.
The song is heavy on guitar and whistling, reminiscent of numerous westerns. The feel of the song (except for the parts when Martin cuts out) are a bit like the music from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. The song now gets a suitably epic visual starring Goodfellas actor Ray Liotta who portrays a villain who intent on torturing our hero when he is saved by a poncho-wearing babe with magical powers. It's refreshing to see a comparatively big budget video in the DIY era and the French DJ makes every cent count with a special effects-filled extravaganza.
The Marc Klasfeld-directed clip is western-themed, as the sound of the song dictates, follows Liotta and his villain friends on a chase through the desert looking for a cowboy and a girl with super powers after escaping from being tortured. After a long night of love-making and hiding, the two are found the next morning by Liotta and instead of killing them in cold blood, he decides to do challenge them to a duel. Oblivious to her magical powers, Liotta thinks this is a good idea until he goes to draw and she uses the power of the sun to melt his and his partners in crimes weapons and scare them away. It's a clever twist on your typical spaghetti western-Themed with a better than average soundtrack.

Ariana Grande Blasts Rockets in "Break Free"

Have you seen Gravity? Barbarella? Or Star Trek? Or the newer trilogy of Star Wars movies? Mash those all together in your mind, add Ariana Grande and Zedd, and remove sense. Congratulations, you mentally created the same "Break Free" video Grande and her team made in real life. The the out-of-this-world clip is one hilarious mess, as Grande flaunts her enviable figure (and even channels her inner Katy Perry and Lady Gaga), and fighting off aliens, floating around in a spaceship while rocking a scandalous outfit and showing off her best dance moves.
The joy-infused song, the second single from her upcoming sophomore album "My Everything," finds Grande celebrating her independence from a past love. The intergalactic video start with the same Star Wars-esque scroll we saw in the "Break Free" lyric video. The scroll promises us it will be "two steps ahead of modern day sexiness," and it's definitely two steps ahead of something. Our heroine appears in a really terribly green-screened wide shot! As far as we can tell, the 21-year-old pop star is a heroine come to save the alien captives on a distant planet.
She shoots down the two guards with ease. The caged alien right next to her during her ambush fails to react at all to the tiny girl with the big ponytail and white boots shooting two reptilian aliens. This planet's people are apparently not very expressive. But Grande's battles are not over yet! After freeing the prisoners, she fights off the other guards by ducking at a convenient time and by shooting missiles out of her breasts.
Then we see Grande writhe around in her space shuttle and apply space lipstick on her way to da club! Zedd pretty much sticks to bouncing around adorably at his table. And, of course, it makes time to introduce us to the inexplicable alien elephant chilling on the ship. But even their combined adorableness still can't explain why the damn elephant exists. So the camera finally makes time to watch Grande dance. Our heroine and her scruffy sidekick then pilot the ship right on through the galaxies, onto what will hopefully be a much better "Bang Bang" video.

INNA performing a choreography in "Good Time"

The Romanian dance queen INNA is ready to strike back the music scene with fresh new music. One year after the release her latest studio album "Party Never Ends," and following the release of her latest single "Cola Song," the singer released the new video of her brand new danceable, club-ready single titled, "Good Time." The uplifting song is the second official single of her upcoming fourth studio album, "Soy LatINNA," scheduled to be released this summer, and it's featuring the guest vocals of the summer hit making machine Pitbull.
It's the second time that the two artists collaborated. Remember dance diva and rapper joined forced with a song "All the Things," included in the re-issue of the rapper's latest album, "Global Warming: Meltdown." The sound of "Good Time" is definitely new territory for INNA. It's a departure from her more 'housey' beats and she returns rather closer to the 90s dance sound, and totally out of her so distinctive Romanian eurodance style. For the first time, she risks with something totally different than what we might expect.
Pitbull is definitely going to give the song exposure, and the beat in the chorus of "Good Time," is so addictive, bubbly, and will instantly put you in a good mood. You just know DJs will have “Good Time" on full blast throughout this whole summer across clubs in Europe. "Good Time" is so irresistibly catchy, it's impossible not to shake your body to it. And it exactly makes you want to do the 'hand' routine INNA does in the lyric video, which was released three weeks ago and shows the fit Romanian performing a non-stop choreography with two female back-up dancers against a grey backdrop. We believe that INNA's now found her bona-fide summer hit!
The new music video, isn't too far away from the lyric video's concept, is full of dance moves. Against colorful backdrops, INNA and a set of dancers will dance like there's no tomorrow in front of literally thousands of cameras. INNA changes outfits multiple times in the video, wearing wigs, helmets and even looking super 'comfy' in red Adidas sweatpants. The best thing about the lyric video was the cute hand-choreography done in the chorus, and thankfully, realizing this, INNA decided to kept the same choreography in the official video.

Owl City's back with a magical "Beautiful Times"

Owl City is finally back and is ready to bring back the electro-smooth in our lives. As far as inescapable hits go, Owl City has a knack for writing especially uplifting ones. His Carly Rae Jepsen collab "Good Time" helped The Midsummer Station go double platinum, reaching the Top 10 in a handful of countries around the globe. Now, he's returning with a whimsical music video through Rolling Stone for his new single "Beautiful Times," the lead single taken from his new four-track EP, "Ultraviolet," which was just released yesterday, June 27 via Universal Music.
Not long after Owl City, the one-man synth-pop act known offstage as Adam Young's "Fireflies" breakout, he broke down the origin of his music's dreamy edge: "About two years ago I was working at a Coca-Cola warehouse all day. It allowed me to sort of dream up these projects. One wound up being Owl City. I thought through how I wanted it to sound, how I wanted the records to look, everything. Sometimes working in a monotonous environment can really free up your imagination."
According to Young, "Beautiful Times," features American violinist and composer Lindsey Stirling, "is a slow-and-steady stream of music that deeply subjective and personal, it has a dark beauty I find compelling and the essence of the track offers the idea that life is wonderful despite the burdens and afflictions that seek us out. It is an anthem for those who search for strength to rise above hardship. I was honored to work with yet another of my favorite artists, Lindsey Stirling, who was kind enough to grant me the honor of featuring her. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Young says about the optimism in the upbeat song and the magical video was mirrored on the set, "It was a blast shooting 'Beautiful Times' because the film crew was such a fun bunch of people to be around. I've been on a few sets where everyone is on edge and it throws the whole thing off. A positive atmosphere really makes all the difference in the world." Directed by Everdream, its whimsical music video depicts a young boy sleeping in his bedroom when his toys and room suddenly comes to life, thanks to a magical little star that comes and turns his bedroom upside down.

Coldplay walk down town in "A Sky Full of Stars"

Coldplay walk down a busy city street and dressed up as some type of clownish busker in their new cheery video for the Avicii-assisted track "A Sky Full of Stars," the third single from British alternative rock band's latest chart-topping sixth studio album, "Ghost Stories." Though Coldplay already have an established presence in the EDM-world thanks to countless remixes of its hits, "A Sky Full Of Stars" is the band's attempt to get into the dance clubs on its own accord, while still maintaining the inherent chilled-outness that is its main bread and butter.
"A Sky Full of Stars" marks the band's first dance in a alternative rock track, being outlined as an EDM track with progressive house-influenced electronic music. Enlisting EDM heavyweight Avicii to serve as producer, the piano-centric track starts off as a heartfelt piano ballad that plays out in between verses before flourishes of pounding electronics take over the chorus seamlessly. While their previous singles such as "Magic" recalled their earlier catalog, this new track falls in line with the synth-heavy soundscapes of "Midnight," but with more danceable flavor.
In "A Sky Full of Stars," the frontman Chris Martin accents the track with his signature dreamlike vocals as he vows that he doesn't care if his love tears his heart apart because she is so full of love and light and the brightest star in the firmament. "You're such a gift," he sings. The big-tent uplifting EDM offering but not in such an overwhelming way is pretty satisfying in all of the ways that those things are and it's certainly the loudest, energetic, classically and most joyful dance-y cut we've heard from the album so far.
Coldplay took its show on the road and turned the Sydney streets into a wandering parade/music festival in the Mat Whitecross-directed video, which sees Martin singing about his lover being a "sky full of stars," while carrying the weirdest musical backpack ever with red tulips and a drum-kit, walking the streets of downtown Sydney to the starstruck of many. He eventually joins the rest of Coldplay bandmates, also carrying their backpacks with colorful umbrellas, balloons, bubbles and confetti for a big uplifting performance surrounded by tens of fans whooping and passers-by that wanted to record this unexpected historic moment with their mobile phones.

Krewella liberating children in "Enjoy the Ride"

Krewella diving into a dark circus-themed story and takes you to that creepy carnival from your nightmares with a new cryptic video for their latest hit song "Enjoy The Ride," the sixth overall single taken from the Chicago EDM trio's debut studio album, "Get Wet," which was released last year. “Enjoy The Ride” highlights the best of the Yousef sisters and Rain Man bringing their fused, power punching EDM and pop. The harmonies between the sisters shines throughout, giving the song it’s pop edge with Krewella’s signature stamp of making EDM relatable and more mainstream.

Taking their fist-pumping dance jams, the success of the band's album "Get Wet" has not slowed them down a bit. The EDM trio's new video continues this trend, as they chose the subconscious of a magical and adventurous young circus dancer as the setting for "Enjoy The Ride," and telling a story about liberating people with a little help from their friends. The Kevin Tancharoen-directed visuals take their viewer on a journey through the futuristic/fantastical world of a beautiful but enslaved circus performer, cut with scenes of Yasmin singing in front of happy-go-lucky ravers. Once again, they prove that outcasts know how to party.
The video opens with the trio sitting in a forest with their followers, watching a circus via TV monitors which shows them a brand new "attraction" added to the circus and see two young kids who are being held captive in an eerie steampunk-influenced carnival: a young girl being held in a cage, and a boy visits the circus, he himself captive with a lock around his neck, and is taken into a tent to watch a show. Inside, the girl dances with Matrix-like effects but is soon interrupted by a fight at the tent entrance. The boy is freed from and runs away after a set of keys are given to him.
In the early morning, he frees the girl from the cage and they run off into the forest where children find Salvation through the magic of EDM as Krewella's followers greet them with open arms, and invite them to come and rage the pain away with them. The video ends on a bittersweet note, though, it turns out that this rescue mission was all just a dream and sadly enough the kids are still prisoners at the end. It's fascinating to see the creepy clip come together in such a short space of time. Strap yourself in for a very enjoyable ride and watch below.

Lady Gaga seeks sweet revenge in "G.U.Y."

Lady Gaga has just unveiled the 'opulent' music video on NBC immediately before news magazine show Dateline's Saturday Night Mystery for her third "ARTPOP" gender-bending single "G.U.Y.," an acronym for "Girl Under You." The 27-year-old pop star has no problem attaching art to music and she's not showing signs of stopping anytime soon with her new big-budget 12-minute "G.U.Y." video, which sees Gaga lying on a 'vintage' chaise-longue on the middle of a pool, performing a choreography in a golden bikini, wearing a huge head-piece, or singing the Zedd-produced EDM banger next to a harpist.
Gaga revealed to Stylist that she wrote this tune as a "new-age feminist" and explained that the track deals with embracing the female image. "Any kind of feminist has valid views for herself about what it means to be a feminist, but, as a new-age feminist, I would say I quite like the transference of strength I feel by submitting to a man - being under him," she said. "I actually wrote a song about it on my album, it's called 'GUY' and it stands for 'Girl Under You.' So wearing make-up, smelling delicious and having suckable, kissable, edible things between your limbs is something I find strengthening because I know that when I pick the right guy, I can let him have it."
The over-the-top visuals, directed by Gaga herself, were shot over six days at California’s famed Hearst Castle, which has not allowed anyone to film there since the 1960 movie "Spartacus." Gaga insists that her whole thing is "not an act," which she has said before. It's her method of expression, which she claims she'd be doing now even if she were still performing in dives on the Lower East Side. "It's interesting because in this video, the fashion and the psychotic sort of whimsy is all happening around me and it's me almost like Alice in Wonderland going through my own rabbit hole in my brain and re-experiencing the past year of my life," explained Gaga.
The clip opens with Gaga playing the role of a fallen angel face down in the ground, suited-up extras grabbing for money around her before abandoning her while "Artpop" plays. She later stumbles through a dusty terrain, collapsing at the gates of a large castle before she's placed in a pool of water, "Venus" now the soundtrack. She reemerges in a skimpy white outfit as the song everyone came for, "G.U.Y." begins. Once she reaches her Valhalla, Gaga and co. unleash a series of dance moves across the castle, both in water and out of it, while seemingly plotting her revenge against the executives grabbing for money in the opening shot. Eventually, she travels to their offices, where she has her revenge of sorts.

Icona Pop fight over a man "Just Another Night"

The ladies of Icona Pop, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, have hit Paris, slow the tempo and get glam in the premiere of their latest music video for the mid-tempo gem "Just Another Night," the third cut from Swedish duo's international debut album "This Is... Icona Pop." It's a known fact that Paris makes everything more sophisticated, so Icona Pop set down there for "Just Another Night" to explore with a lavishly black-and-white, Paris-set tale of a love triangle between two Swedish girls, one Italian man, the City of Lights, funny business, love, deceit, passion, regret, desire, and intrigue.
The pop music's favorite diva duo Icona Pop has been dominating the charts since their debut hit single, "I Love It" in 2012. The two girls got their iconic band name thanks to Hjelt's mother, "My mother coined our collective name We were having dinner with some Italian friends, and my mother said I was going to be a pop icon one day. 'Icona pop' means 'pop icon' in Italian." Icona Pop switched up the pace for "Just Another Night" a silent hero off their album, a full of high energy songs, which they deliver in an incredibly exciting and vibrant live show.
This somber breakup ballad finds the Icona Pop duo taking turns singing about a relationship that has just ended, and it speaks to the young adults in the world, just another night out on the town and the shenanigans that ensue. It's a heartbroken song built around ballad-y piano passages, but with the same knowingness and real-talk lyricism of their breakout hit. The Stargate-produced single definitely shows a softer, more melodic side to our favorite Swedes but it's not exactly an invitation to dance.
The beautiful French New Wave-inspired video was filmed in Paris, directed by Marc Klasfeld and tells the story of a love triangle between the Icona Pop pair and an Italian man. The song's heavy synth opening lends itself to the darkness of the story. Over the course of 3 minutes and 31 seconds, Klasfeld manages to visually explore all the Parisians tropes: black and white stripped clothes, sitting at an outdoor cafe and drinking wine, eating pastries, smoking on balconies, birdcage veils, high fashion photo shoots, the Arc de Triomphe. In the twist ending, no one is satisfied except the Italian man. So, it's a true-to-life story.

Lorde dreams up a different world in "Team"

To close out the year, New Zealand electro pop songstress Lorde has released a magical new arresting, adult-free video for her excellent ballad "Team," the second single and follow-up to her massive debut hit tune "Royals" taken from the 17-year-old chanteuse's debut LP, "Pure Heroine," the seventh best album of 2013. The down-tempo track, draws from the genres of pop, rock, electronic dance and electrohop, gets a suitably dark clip which is a beauteous, slightly melancholic series of striking images and a must-see.
Filmed in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the Young Replicant-directed clip opens with picturesque shots of the ocean, before settling on a giant abandoned edifice on the water. Inside, sporting a set of braids, is the self-anointed "queen bee," Lorde. Surrounded by greenery, the singer is flanked by her minions-who've all been transported to this mystical commune, and pass around a gallon jug of some mysterious blue liquid as she croons the song's addictive chorus. This is the "palace" within Lorde's dreams and it is, by the looks of it, a pretty magical place.
In between shots of the teenage pop singer spazzing out in a blue, foliage-filled universe, two young men have it out with one another, indulging in kidnapping and motorbike jousting. It's an unseen city, apparently, without any parental guidance. Lorde finds herself on what appears to be an island of misfit teens. It's a place that looks like the villain's lair from Skyfall, where Lorde sings about themes familiar from her breakout single while a dirt-bike jousting tournament takes place. The message of the story, at least according to the refrain about being "on each other's team," is one of togetherness, but the down-tempo track and bleak visuals suggest otherwise.
"This video was borne from a dream I had a few months ago about teenagers in their own world, a world with hierarchies and initiations, where the boy who was second in command had acne on his face, and so did the girl who was queen," Lorde posted on Facebook when the video debuted on last Tuesday. "I dreamt about this world being so different to anything anyone had ever seen, a dark world full of tropical plants and ruins and sweat. and of this world, I dreamt about tests that didn't need to be passed in order to be allowed in: sometimes the person who loses is stronger. Enjoy XX!"

Britney Spears lives fancy in "Work Bitch"

Britney Spears goes back to her old ways and she's here to work, bitch. She invited us all on a journey back in time and even brought some whips, gags, and sharks to the party in her just-released new music video for her club-banger of a new track, "Work Bitch," the lead single from her forthcoming untitled eighth studio album, which is scheduled for release December 3rd. The S&M-themed clip is a vintage Spears. In a sex-dripping, flawless, ridiculous, weird, and fierce fashion we haven't seen from her in almost a decade, she, quite simply, gets to work. Bitch!
As expected, the song - written by Willi.i.am and Sebastian Ingorsso protégé DJ Otto Jettman, among others - is an EDM-influenced dance song and a full-on club banger with Spears giving fans the secret to her success, where Spears repeatedly encourages listeners to "get to work, bitch." The song starts with a strong club beat, before she sings, " You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work bitch!" she coos in the song's opening lines. The 31-year-old pop princess continues to tease the lifestyle that can be achieved by getting to work, as she continues, "You want a Lamborghini? / Sip martinis? / Look hot in a bikini? / You better work bitch!"
The track features mostly spoken lyrics, which serves as a testament to the fine things a strong work ethic can bring about. It sounds like the lights-out after-party to RuPaul's 1993 debut single "Supermodel (You Better Work)." The "you better work" call to action and its variant "work it," which wormed its way into the popular lexicon as encouragement for just about any kind of performance, but Spears uses it in a far more literal sense, explaining that a hot body requires hard work, as does the attainment of luxury goods. "Work Bitch" is a pretty relentless onslaught that reflects pop's current love for chucking in everything up to and including the kitchen sink.
Filming took place in Malibu, California, the steamy, Ben Mor-directed clip features Spears in a black and gold bustier and long black gloves. She's gyrating against a white wall, flanked by a myriad of female backup dancers dressed in leather, prancing their way through a number of different locations including a desert, a pool, and dimly lit club for some floor choreography in the middle of said barren desert. Of course, the lyrics to “Work Bitch” are about as random as the litany of settings in the video, so this potpourri of sex and bras and BDSM and muscle cars is really just a manifestation of the hodgepodge of hotness she lists at various points in the song. It's all very BDSM-nightclub dance-fantasy. In other words, classic Spears.

Christina Aguilera debuts "Let There Be Love"

Christina Aguilera really shows the love to her fans, friends and family in the newly released heartfelt clip for her feel-good empowering anthem, "Let There Be Love," taken from 32-year-old singer's latest seventh studio album, "Lotus" which was released in November last year. The mentor of 'The Voice' said that the album would be about "self–expression and freedom" because of the personal struggles she had overcome during the last couple of years, and this club rave track "Let There Be Love" is free and representative of what this album is about.
"Let There Be Love" combines dance-pop, EDM and pop music genres, and is influenced by electronica and trance. Its instrumentation incorporates synths and drums. It was also deemed as one of the best songs on "Lotus" and that it would have been a better lead single option over "Your Body." The uptempo track is about as formulaic as club pop gets, but resonates effectively.  Aguilera had managed to create a prime disco diva anthem without the assistance of Calvin Harris. So it's also a massive clubby raveathon that is ultimately throwaway, but in the best possible way.
The clip was official released few hours after she posted a lengthy thank you message to fans on her official website. The letter reads: "I may get quiet at times, but when I do have something to say, I mean every word. I decided to share my thoughts with you at length and tell you openly how I feel. Thank you for filling my soul with melody and song... lyrics and love... and giving me a safe place I feel comforted in being brave enough to always bare my soul and come from an honest and genuine place. Be fearless enough to be a conversation piece... Speak your own truth... As always, thank you for accepting me for who I am. Being human - flaws and all."
The DIY style clip kicks off with the diva giving a heartfelt message to her fans. "Hey everybody Aguilera here just thanking you guys so much for filling my life and my heart with so much love continued throughout the years," Adding: "Standing by me, I appreciate all your support, this one is just for you." In clip, Aguilera looks happier and healthier than ever as she bops around smiling ear-to-ear in swimsuits showing off her trimmed-own figure, as she sings about equality. The clip also unfolds to reveal her family including son Max, boyfriend Matthew Rutler and celebrity pal Nicole Richie, while at the same time almost everyone making the "L" sign for love with their hands, as well as holding up signs with other positive messages of love and equality.

Ciara & Nicki Minaj hit dance floor in "I'm Out"

The R&B songstress Ciara lets her hotness be her best revenge against a no good ex in the just-released fashionable and fierce video for her super hype new single, "I'm Out," featuring rapstress Nicki Minaj, during the pre-show of the 2013 BET Awards. "I'm Out" is the intro track to Ciara's upcoming eponymously-titled fifth studio album, slated to release on July 9th. The anthem gets a dance-heavy video capable of matching its vibe and we see a very different and edgy Ciara that we have been very impressed by.
The uptempo song is a "crystalline" rhythmic pop ladies' anthem, and it's your summer girls' night out anthem to end all anthems. From Ciara's a-capella bit at the beginning to Minaj's speedy, caustic verses over a swarming beat, put your hands up, toast your friends, celebrate your independence, and get down. Its melody is backed by clattering percussion. "The energy of the record is so dope, and it's really for the ladies, and Nicki she just killed the verse," Ciara told MTV News. "She literally murdered it, like she got that throw-back, that thing that she does that's so special. She went in."
The Hannah Lux Davis-directed futuristic clip for their turned up kiss-off track follows the theme of the song on point as the sexy ladies dressed in all white and hit the dance floor, perform some synchronized moves and forget about all their relationship troubles. It starts as a homage to Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson's iconic "Scream" video, then quickly turns into one of her most stylish, fierce, and sexy videos yet as she slays some choreography in the club and serves major aquatic sexiness. Ciara's choreography and dance/twerk moves were a sharp as ever and she spent and equal amount of time flexing her vocal muscles as she did her torso.
Ciara described the video perfectly during her visit to Tim Westwood: "It's a lot of fun, we're going in representing for the ladies, definitely a lot of dancing, it's just also us having cool girls time, just having fun". It's unfortunate the album had to leak so early but at least she has two massive records with 'Body Party' and 'I'm Out'." Not since the early Noughties have two Urban female acts served a video that screams 'MTV' as loud as this one does. Indeed, while many a recent Hip Hop/R&B video struggles to hold a light to clips spawned by the likes of GaGa and Rihanna, "I'm Out" visual is the standard all videos should aim towards packing moments we're gonna come out and say are timeless.

Sandro Silva follows a journey in 'Let go Tonight'

Another Dutchman is quickly earning props for his percussive, melodic and energetic versatile sounds. Sandro Silva could easily beam with veteran status in the electronic music space. Now at 22, the Dutch star has dropped an Official Video for his EDM jam, "Let Go Tonight," the title track from his newest EP, a 3-track electro-house production and a promising effort that showcases this young talent's exceeding studio skills with his songwriting and genre-blending aspirations.
It's obvious Silva delves into wide categories of dance music and it shows in his production work. He has linked multiple styles to form a sound that is his own. Ranging from harder edged instrumental singles to vocal friendly commercial leaning tracks, Sandro floats effortlessly between both worlds. Already having an impressive resume of performances and releases, Silva knows what it takes to move crowds, and he keeps the uplifting tunes coming with the EP's title track, "Let Go Tonight," a track that brings pop sensibilities and electro-house together.
Featuring from another 22-year-old musician from Brooklyn, New York, Jack Miz, who lends his powerful vocals to the track, blending with the pop-sounding drop to create a song that is fit for pop radio and EDM playlists alike. "Let Go Tonight," is an addicting song, and showcases Silva's traditional songwriting abilities, synthpop instrumentation of quick and energetic sequencers, and features Miz's vocals over a powerful hook and deft production.
On this track "Let Go Tonight," you can hear more classic dance progressions mixed with Silva’s signature unique sounds that create layers upon layers for the ear to take in, and with a really well done music video. The entire clip for track looks like it's been shot in one take, following the journey of a young man and his video camera. For some odd reason the suspects he ends up shooting aren't so hard on the eyes. With this release, Silva is showing why he is set for big things in the EDM world.

Krewella living life to the fullest in "Alive" video

Chicago EDM group Krewella has been around for the better part of half a decade, which means they have plenty of friends in the business. That comes in handy, it turns out, when putting together a 8-track remix EP, "Play Harder," the band's first EP, topped Beatport, dance music's biggest retailer, out December 10. The Electronic dance music group have let loose a brand new official music video for their hit single "Alive," one of the many soon-to-be-banger-tracks with a few remixes off of their EP.
"A lot of the remixers are friends that we know personally and reached out to," the electro trio composed of Jahan Yousaf, Yasmine Yousaf and Kris "Rain Man" Trindl said in an email to The Huffington Post. "We are blessed to know so many talented producers." Calling in friends and confidants is a smart move for Krewella, who embrace a certain DIY approach to music and the consumption of it. "We're going to keep putting our music out for free, but if we sell certain records, we encourage our fans to grab our music in any way possible," the group wrote before adding, "*cough cough zippyshare.*"
Krewella's EP contains a wide range of EDM styles including dubstep, electro & progressive house, drumstep, and moombahton. And perhaps that makes their success even sweeter. "Alive," is a huge melodic electro house banger, and an track full of rebellion and living life to the fullest. I don't think there's any doubt 2013 will begin with an enormous Krewella takeover.  Moving quicker through the EDM ranks than two hot girls can drag their guy friend to the front row of a show, their rise to success has been impressive.
The Brian Schlam directed-video takes place in a run down desert which leads to breaking stuff, partying, and burning a stuffed panda bears, depicts three band members and co. causing a ruckus in post-apocalyptic barren lands. This clip for "Alive" is all about that teenage fantasy of having a dilapidated Instagram-y crash pad in the desert, where you and your friends can spraypaint, make out, and burn stuff. Yasmine and Jahan's vocals are on point, and we're also not complaining about the sexy "rocker meets leather biker at the apocalypse" look they've glammed up for the clip.
