Sara Evans threaten to walk out "Slow Me Down"

Sara Evans is excited to be getting back in the thick of the music business with the release of a music video for her emotional new ballad "Slow Me Down," the lead-off single and title track from her forthcoming seventh studio album, which will be released on March 4. It's been almost three years since Evans released her last album, "Stronger," and she's more than ready to bring new music to her fans. "I am so excited to have some new music out. We're finishing the album up in October," the 42-year-old powerhouse songstress said.
"Slow Me Down" is a mid-tempo country ballad, backed by plucked strings and guitar. The song is sung from the perspective of a woman threatening to walk out on her man, finishing by saying that if he has something to say that he should "hurry up and slow [her] down." Speaking of the song with Billboard, Evans said: "There's definitely something about it. That's what we all felt when we heard it. When they pitched it to us, it was so emotional and the thought of 'Hurry Up and Slow Me Down' is one of the best lines I have heard in a song in so long. I'm very lucky they pitched it to me."
Evans also told The Boot that she was excited about the recording process: "I love songs that evoke emotion - it really is what connects people to the music. When we went into the studio to record ['Slow Me Down'] my main goal was to capture the desperation and passion in the song - to strike a balance between a strong vocal and the emotion that would pull in the listener." The song seems poised to follow in the long line of successful ballads for the singer, who gives the song all she's got, delivering a forceful performance of the chorus while rendering the song's title phrase with a plaintive trill.
Directed by Peter Zavadil, and was shot primarily at Club Anthem in Nashville, Tennessee last September, the angsty, emotional clip begins with Evans in a wedding dress before cutting to her and her significant other, played by NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, arguing in their high rise. As the video continues, it's clear there is trouble in paradise. Edwards is glued to his phone while Evans vies for his attention before realizing she's fighting a losing battle. Sara Evans Debuts "My Heart Can't Tell You No"

Sara Evans released a new music video for her twangy cover of Rod Stewart's "My Heart Can't Tell You No," with three alternate endings on CMT, iTunes and VEVO. The track served as the second single from her sixth studio album, "Stronger," is her twangy cover of British pop-rock artist Rod Stewart's 1988 classic, and Evans does a fine job recreating the moment. In her own version, Evans depicts a heartbreaking love triangle.
The reemergence of Evans gave life not only to her career, but to millions of women who were kicked around and given up on by the same people who once said "I love you." She seemed to truly find strength after taking a few years off to handle personal issues. The recent chart-topper "A Little Bit Stronger" was the start of a great comeback story. Her new single "My Heart Can't Tell You No," a gentle, regretful cover, feels like a sudden bout of insecurity. Evans's vocals are free of impurities, although she does revert her early tendency to hold impossible notes for measures at a time.
In the new video for her worthwhile cover, the incredibly fit Evans finds herself involved in an emotionally murky plot. Her knockout figure almost feels like another "character" in the video. "I am so excited about releasing this video," said the 40-year-old RCA Nashville artist. "It's a different kind of video than anything I've ever done before. We had SO many wardrobe changes and the plot is so full of drama! I can't wait for my fans to see it!"
Helmed by director Peter Zavadil, Evans plays an apartment dweller who watches the unpleasant goings on between a young, good-looking couple across the hall in video. She goes to enter her unit and sees the sad-eyed blond girl looking reluctant to let her 'boyfriend' into her apartment. Evans gives off a knowing look, which suggests that she is either a part of this triangle somehow or that she is simply a witness who has been made aware of what's going behind the girl's back. Whatever the case, it's not a fun position to be in.

Sara Evans Is Getting "A Little Bit Stronger"

Sara Evans has been crafting empowered ballads and pop gems since 1997, and was one of the few traditional-styled singers to emerge from Nashville, the return tune, "A Little Bit Stronger" is no different. Both uplifting and made with the same pop powers that have made her a favorite for over a decade, Co-written by Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott, the mid-tempo Country ballad is the first single off Evans' upcoming sixth album, "Stronger," which will be released on March 8, 2011. The album is expected to signify a return to form for the 39-year-old Missouri native who hasn't released an album since 2005. The song also features on the soundtrack for the 2010 movie "Country Strong."
"A Little Bit Stronger" finds Evans using her soaring alto to wring every bit of emotion out of the lyrics that chronicle a woman's ability to move on after a long relationship ends. It may recall many of the same themes as the Keith Anderson hit "I Still Miss You," and the tone recalls the same sorrow and heartache, and at the same time brings to mind the same growing and moving on. The song is about the traces or a relationship that linger after the relationship has ended, and chronicle how the main character steadily moves on and grows stronger in the face of those reminders.
The video was directed by Peter Zavadil and shot on August 9 in Nashville. It finds a distraught Evans performing the song in various locations. She confesses in the song's video, "It's only been a week since he left, and it feels like it's been forever," holding back tears. Throughout the clip, scenes of her recording a video blog are included in which Evans notes that she's getting stronger with each passing day. "Everybody's gone through some sort of heartbreak, whether it's losing someone to death or just breaking up with somebody that you were in love with. So the song just talks about getting stronger, and that's the attitude that you have to have." Evans said.
Playing on themes common in Evans' music, "A Little Bit Stronger" showcases the vocals that have always defined the singer's career, and the obvious passion and emotion that have lined her songs and albums for the past 13 years. The song builds in succeeding verses and features a emotive piano that draws out an authentic, organic vocal behind Evans' well known high notes. The singing is powerful and given the nuanced passion of the vocal, there's no doubt that she's lived this song at some point in her life and now is "a little bit stronger," that's what ends up making this a fantastic 'come back' single and one that country radio cannot possibly ignore. Like a fine wine, age has matured the singer's sound and voice with a warm Southern comfort, and Evans is still capable of the same pop gems that defined the early 2000s during her career.
