Alexis Jordan Has Tough Message In "Hush Hush"

Roc Nation Princess Alexis Jordan, who recently scored UK hits with "Happiness" and "Good Girl," is back with the brand new music video for her follow-up third single "Hush Hush," to be taken from her self-titled debut album. "Hush Hush" manages to sound fierce and encouraging at the same time and it's another dancefloor filler with a chorus that will have you on your feet in seconds.
"Hush Hush" has a solid beat and a catchy hook which looks set to be another sure hit for the 19-year-old with its euphoric dancefloor-filling beats and another insanely catchy chorus. The new single doesn't stray far from that radio-friendly club sound, it was always the obvious single from the moment anyone heard the album. It dutifully stomps on the iridescent dance/pop beats "Happiness" and "Good Girl" paved and now, this is what listeners acknowledge to be the Jordan sound. She's gotta be proud of that, and we wouldn't be surprised if this track lingers around the charts this summer.
Jordan was a contestant on the first season of "America's Got Talent." After her elimination, she uploaded song covers via Youtube which eventually led her to sign with JayZ and Stargate's recording label. Though a US native, Jordan's efforts have found themselves most fruitful Internationally. When I realized her young age, I thought I was just going to listen to some tween pop I could forget right after. But towards "Hush Hush"'s hook, I began liking it. The sound and the vibe reminded me of the Pussycat Dolls. The lyrics seem to all go together without being too deep or too uninspired.
Over her most adult lyrics yet, Jordan sends an empowered and tough message to guy wot wronged her over the clattering, dancefloor-aimed production and vows a bit of old-fashioned revenge on him for being a bit of a useless guy to begin with. It's not as immediately catchy, but "Hush Hush" shows a different side to this popstrel, something only hinted at before in her predecessors. Jordan is pretty hacked off about something, and it seems to be because of her man friend is cheating on her. She's one young lady that won't be messed around by a no-good boyfriend. The Clifton Bell-directed video sees her being stood up by her fella, but rather than sulking at home, she pulls on her glad rags and hits the town with her girlfriends instead.

Alexis Jordan Is Spreading Joy In Her "Good Girl"

"I'm a good girl - but I've been bad before." Rose to fame as a contestant on the first season of America's Got Talent in 2006, Alexis Jordan returns with the official video to accompany her second upbeat single "Good Girl," which is off of her self-titled forthcoming debut album, which is set hit shelves in the UK on February 28 and in the US at some point in March. Jordan breaks it down with "Good Girl", a tale of how preconceptions can mask the truth of someone.
After the success of her chart-topping debut single "Happiness," it seems that Jordan is sticking with a similar formula for her sophomore offering. Boppy and upbeat, "Good Girl" is a seriously catchy number. Talking about self-joy, empowerment and preying on an innocent fella who's been taken in by her "lean body" and eye-catching beauty, "Good Girl' showcases Jordan's sassy side as she sings, "I can be a good girl, but I've been bad before," in between the bouncing tune. It is meant to show off Jordan's female independence, as well as a bit of the sassiness that the singer carries. This catchy dance/pop song produced by Stargate looks set to launch her into the dizzy heights of the charts once again. It was intelligent by Jordan's management team to continue her 'light' dance/house sound.
"I want to be really positive, no cussing, none of that," she said. "I'm a young artist and I want to be a role model. A lot of songs are upbeat, and some are ballads. There's a little bit of that country vibe in it, and a little bit of that reggae vibe. My album really has everything." "I'm bringing something fresh, something new and something positive to the world," the 18-year-old singer continued. "Something that is going to leave a mark on history and music. We are going to make this international. That's my goal, it's going to spread all around the world."
The artist, who sits at the cusp of adulthood, brimming with potential and has already signed to Jay-Z's record label Star Roc/Roc Nation. With all of the stars that fill our sky, there are very few that shine as bright as Jordan. With flowing red hair, just as vibrant as her personality, 18 year-old possesses an emotive, awe-inspiring voice that is packed with a power strong enough to brighten our entire world. She is seen dancing around with a bunch of female friends and simply spreading joy in this newly-debuted music video, and makes everyone want to be a good girl. "I want to be really positive, no cussing, none of that. I'm a young artist and I want to be a role model," Jordan said about how she felt about being in the spotlight.

Alexis Jordan Debuts Fantasy World "Happiness"

Former America's Got Talent contestant and Limelight Spotlight alum, Alexis Jordan has just premiered a very adorable music video on VEVO for her debut single, "Happiness." The 18 years old powerhouse is the newest face to emerge from the arsenal of talent, who was once told she's an amazing singer by the one and only Simon Cowell, is bringing us to her fantasy world in her new video with fun, colorful animations and, of course, the ethereal dance beat for "Happiness."
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Jordan embodies the new spirit of America with her rich cultural background that includes her father's Puerto Rican heritage and her mother's African American, Native American and European ancestry. On her first single "Happiness," she belts out a dance song about self-joy and empowerment over Stargate's up-tempo track. "I want to be really positive, no cussing, none of that," says Jordan. "I'm a young artist and I want to be a role model. A lot of songs are upbeat, and some are ballads. There's a little bit of that country vibe in it, and a little bit of that reggae vibe. My album really has everything."
After appearing on the Simon Cowell produced T.V. competition, America's Got Talent, and making it all the way to the semi-finals, Jordan racked up millions of views on her YouTube page doing covers of other songs. Stargate, the multi-platinum, award-winning production and writing team, contacted Jordan and flew her out to New York and signed to Jay-Z and super-producing duo StarGate's StarRoc/RocNation imprint distributed through Sony. On her debut single "Happiness," produced by Stargate, who wrapped her powerful pipes in a slick pop sheen, the South Carolina songstress belts out her affection for one lucky boy over an easy, breezy tune designed for the dance floor.
Now that the newest signee Jordan has had the chance to work with some of the industry's most sought after hit makers, she is getting ready to release her genre-crossing debut album which is a universal collection of songs that not only displays her tremendous voice, but also conveys the constructive message she feels is missing in mainstream music today.
