The electro-hop pop artist Dev has official released, even though it leaked in last September, video for "Take Her From You," the fifth track taken from Dev's upcoming debut album "The Night the Sun Came Up," which was suffered several delays due to Dev having a baby and will comes out March 27. Dev steps back 'in the dark' for her latest clip which is a wild world away from the whimsical hip-POP melodies she's been dropping as of recent but this rock-star production just goes to show how versatile Dev can be.
It sounds like the music I'm guessing Ke$ha would want to make on her upcoming album, a heavy rock edge on a POP record. Between the 90's vibes and the catchy whistling. The delay was revealed hot on the heels of her pregnancy announcement. She's expecting a baby girl with her best friend Jimmy. "Being so busy and wrapped up in my career, I never thought I'd fall in love or have a family," Dev said. "I thought I was going to be a lonely touring soul till I was 50... I knew how much Jimmy and I loved each other and I thought we'd do amazing at loving this baby."
New motherhood isn't slowing Dev down! Since the start of 2012, the 22-year-old Californian singer has released videos back-to-back-to-back. First Dev premiered the sultry duet "Naked" with Enrique Iglesias, followed by the dance track "In My Trunk." The new song "Take Her From You," is a little more rock in sound, with some heavy electric guitar riffs, a slower tempo, and a catchy whistling section. It differs completely from the electronic soundscape of the album, as it is inspired by rock and roll music.
Visually, it's dark, edgy and quite the disturbing piece. Shot in a moody black and white, the singing/whistling star croons to the camera as she takes a long trip from her home and out into the city. The camera follows the "Bass Down Low" singer as she hides a corpse in a trash bag and tries to get rid of it. Dev drags the "package" around the town before loading it in a stolen car, and drives away to a secluded place to bury it for good. The mystery baggage, which is ripped open in a surprise reveal at the end of the video.
