50 Cent is back and lights fire with "Smoke"

50 Cent is definitely riding off the positive momentum that his records have been getting. Sensing the connection between his just-released "Smoke," and the people, 50 Cent again, wastes absolutely no time getting out an accompanying visual to pair with a recent song's release. Produced by Dr Dre, "Smoke" will feature on the 38-year-old New York rapper's upcoming first indie full-length, "Animal Ambition," which 50 Cent said that he has shot 13 videos for, is slated to drop on June 3rd with some heat for the summer.
Call this the return of 50 Cent. On his new single, the Queens boss teams up with Trey Songz as they get everyone down to the dance floors to inhale their vibes. The Dr. Dre-produced high-powered dance track starts with a familiar-but-updated Dre thump. Frantic, striking piano meets a pounding drum track before Songz sets things off. "Somebody pull the fire alarm/ girl where ya from?/ 'Cause you got this club on fire/ and outside I bet all they smell is smoke," he sings on the hook to 50 Cent's new single.
50 Cent is no stranger to setting the club on fire; it's a topic he's visited with songs like 2005's "Disco Inferno." This cut finds the G-Unit MC capo paying tribute to a woman who's more intoxicating than a great big lungful of Smoke as he attacks the beat with his usual charm. Songz enhances the record's already-prodigious pop appeal with a smooth guest hook. "She hood and in the mood, when I'm in the mood/ Erotic, so exotic, I'm psychotic about it," he spits with his eye on the object of his thug affection. It's no secret 50 Cent has been on a roll with "Animal Ambition" releases thus far, but "Smoke" is easily a stand out amongst the other musical offerings he has given us.
Ring the alarm. 50 Cent goes missing in the Eif Rivera-directed action-packed video. When the rap mogul can't be found, the police chief sends his top agent to track him down, fighting off everyone in sight to come to his rescue. The voluptuous cop fights off bad guys before discovering 50 Cent in the trunk of a car in the to-be-continued film. Trey Songz works off some aggression in "Na Na"

After releasing his catchy new single "Na Na" a few months ago, Trey Songz decided to heat things up and premiere the steamy new video for his DJ Mustard-produced single which is the lead single from Songz's upcoming sixth studio album, "Trigga," which is set to arrive on June 30. The Gil Green-directed visual shows Songz workin' his aggression out at the gym all while getting closer and closer to his on-screen love interest. Just the recipe for another hot and steamy video from the R&B heartthrob.
The track starts with the 29-year-old R&B singer proclaiming "Put your hands in the air, Trigga," referencing both his nickname and album title. The song's hook samples Teena Marie's 1988 single "Ooo La La La," which was later interpolated on the chorus of the Fugees' 1996 hip hop hit tune "Fu-Gee-La." Here, the Atlantic hitmaker reimagines the Fugees' classic as a sultry ode to sex and money. Superproducer DJ Mustard's exotic flute loops and bass-bumping rhythm section accompany the artist as he urges listeners to "Put your hands in the air if you're f**kin' tonight."
Last Wednesday night (March 12), R&B heavyweight Songz surprised fans and media with private screening of his sexy Fugees' sampled track "Na Na" and released video in tandem with a premiere party at Bugatta Restaurant on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Songz was accompanied by model/dancer Rosa Acosta, who co-stars alongside him in the steamy and fit new music video as well as took pictures with some of his most dedicated fans. The heartthrob is wasting no time hitting hard with the sultry, sexy, sweaty, and work up a sweat in his sexiest video yet.
After being lured into a jewelry store by Acosta, Songz ends up in a hidden gym where he loaded with passion and aggression and fit, beautiful women, as he gets a bit physical and goes through some rigorous steamy and intense workouts with a whole slew of sexy female trainers, including celeb fitness guru, Mankofit, and WWE Divas, The Bella Twins, from sharpening his boxing skills to up close and personal stretches. It all leads up to one final test, where Acosta rewarding him with an intimate private make-out session, heating up the sex-drenched black-and-white clip. Ne-Yo & Trey Songz Love "The Way You Move"

Ne-Yo enlists fellow R&B crooners Trey Songz and T-Pain, to join him spend a night by hitting a gentleman's club to bring their collaboration to life in the stripper-filled erotic clip for their joint track "The Way You Move," a song sure to be blasting out of a radio near you pretty soon. Awash in blue, red and purple lights, the three R&B power houses continue to drop impassioned one-liners, while enjoying the sultry show of lap and pole dancing.
The sensual and auto-tuned ballad song is recorded for DJ Boy Wonda's latest mixtape "Tough Love." It's to tide fans over while the three of them are preparing for their own albums. Ne-Yo is working on the follow-up to 2010's "Libra Scale," Songz is working on a new effort called "Chapter 5," while T-Pain is going to release "RevolveR" on December 6.
In this smoothed out track, the cleanly dressed dress trio hit the club to watch their favorite ladies move together and sing about their adoration and infatuation with the sexy dancers who they've falling for, simple because of the way she moves. The video does not stray far from that theme. "The Way You Move" gives each crooner their shine and they deliver very nicely. The video is definitely for the grown and sexy, with plenty of eye candy for the fellas.
In the provocative Clifton Bell-helmed visual, the guys hit the strip club where they meet one dancer who's considering giving all of it up. While a typically dapper Ne-Yo serenades an exotic dancer that has caught his eye. As he pleads with her to not quit her night gig, and encourage her to keep "doing what's in her soul." Songz is also looking dandy in a black tuxedo as he watches his favorite lady work the pole, while woefully croons of his beloved stripper. To complete the trifecta, T-Pain who has plenty of experience of being in love with strippers, makes his attempt to keep his favorite exotic dancer with the golden moves working.

Lupe Fiasco fantasizes through 'Out Of My Head'

If Lupe Fiasco didn't win you over with his live performance of "Out of My Head" at the MTV Movie Awards, he may just charm you with the official music video. Unable to get his love interest out of his head, Fiasco ends up seeing her in every woman he comes across in this newly released video for his third single off Chicago rhymer's latest successful Atlantic set "Lasers," out this past spring.
This for-the-ladies rap with a music-industry-as-romance metaphor features Fiasco's labelmate, the R&B singer Trey Songz. Lyrically, the song compares a love interest whose effect is similar to that of a catchy song. The 29-year-old rapper says that the song "doesn't have any deep meaning behind it, and is for the chicks." Songz has praised the song, saying that it was one of his favorite collaborations he ever did. The song is also a whole hell of a lot more mainstream and radio friendly and vying to become the third top 10 hit for both artists.
Featuring Songz on the hook and shouting the chorus from the rooftops, the Michael Thelin-directed promo clip takes Fiasco through his day, and he is trying to have himself any other ordinary day, as he walks out of his building, onto the sidewalk and into his waiting car. But everywhere he goes, he sees his girl played by Model Tracey Thomas. While most of Fiasco's encounters would add up to a bad day for most people, the rapper is all smiles at the end of it, when he finally lays eyes on his girlfriend, the same broad he's been eying all over town in every women he's passed by.
Fiasco is undoubtedly one of the most talented MCs in hip-hop, but he is still working to earn a place in the upper echelon of rap superstars. With the Chicago rapper's third album, "Lasers," which has found its way to No.1 on the Billboard 200, Fiasco makes a leap in that direction. He told MTV News, "For this record, being a more popular record and being the goal of this record from its inception, no matter what changes and phases and label battles that it went through, it was always about, 'Let's take it to another level'."

Trey Songz Gets In The Mood For "Love Faces"

Trey Songz has a very special Valentine's gift for you - his love faces, which populate his new video for his sizzling hot single "Love Faces" on MTV.com! In the black-and-white clip, Songz's lady wants to keep her relationship with the R&B crooner a secret at an important work event - someone's intimidated he might overshadow her on her big night - so she asks for him to pretend they don't know one another. The track is typical Songz as his smooth vocals glide over the bass heavy slow jam. Produced by Troy Taylor and written by Tremaine & ChefTone, the mid-tempo piano-based ballad was released as a dual third single from Songz's Gold certified fourth studio album, "Passion, Pain & Pleasure," which is full of love, love making and heart break hits. The 26-year-old remained tight-lipped about the details of the visual, but he did break down how the song came together, saying that the track was inspired by another, less sensual track. "When I first wrote the song it was actually a concept I got from a Houston record with the same name, different kind of faces, and I was like, 'That'll be a dope love song,'" Songz revealed. The "Bottoms Up" belter added that the song is an ode to the sultry expressions lovers make while in the throes of passion.
Songz can crank out bedroom burners with ease - this is the same guy behind "I Invented Sex" - but for the visual to his latest single, "Love Faces," the Virginia crooner said fans shouldn't expect the typical Songz treatment. The singer tells MTV News, "I love the treatment so much. I think it's gonna be a lot different than what people expect it to be and a lot of that is contributed to the narrative, and I want people to be surprised when they see it," he said. "But it's a great video. It's shot very well. It's myself and [director] Justin Francis. We did it in Miami, and it was a two-day shoot and we have a beautiful leading lady. I'll give away that much."
Songz definitely knows how to put you in the mood. Yet, the lack of sexuality in this video is a little surprising. The sexy R&B singer gets things started again in the video for "Love Faces." It opens with Songz and a lovely lady having a phone convo. It's a big night for the gal, as she has a big art opening, where he keeps his distance, later making it up to her by getting steamy in a black-and-white love making montage, after he surprises her at work! Trey Songz Grieves On "Can't Be Friends" Video

R&B stud Trey Songz is back with a new video for his emotionally driven new single "Can't Be Friends," the second release lifted from his eagerly-awaited upcoming fourth alliterative project "Passion, Pain & Pleasure," following up from his "Bottoms Up" single featuring the temptress Nicki Minaj. R&B singer makes it clear that he and his former lover "Can't Be Friends" on his new song of that very same name.
"Can't Be Friends" is a borderline ballad that finds the singer delivering one of his best vocal performances since his debut album. The soothing ballad samples Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Bibo no Aozora" from the 2006 film Babel. The track is a departure from his usual 'sex and alcohol' gimmick and actually has substance. This is the direction Songz needs to be going; he's proved, for better or worse that he can deliver radio hits but he's still not taken seriously as viable artist. Understated, low-register piano chords combine with a thudding, tension-building drum beat as Songz expresses regret and sets his boundaries. It's the classic love jam expressing how you wish you never screwed your homegirl, and now there is no way you can be friends.
In the video, madly in love with a woman he can't be with, the heartbroken Songz is frustrated and angry with himself and is seen sitting anxiously in an empty room all alone going through the painful emotions of dealing with a breakup and he's hurting because of it on his latest "Can't Be Friends" video. This a rather simplistic but powerful new video at the same time, is very different from his past clips because of the addition of Anthony Mandler, who is also known as Drake's favorite director. Songz gives the already somber record even more emotion for his fans. The lyrics and motion of the video are in perfect sync with Songz's movements, whether it's just Songz alone or him with his woman. It's dramatic and draws you in. The video does a good job of showing the thoughts running through Songz's mind as we listen to the story and feel his pain. Songz goes crazy while thinking about a lost love.
"Passion, Pain & Pleasure," a piano-laced and finger-snaps-embraced beat that serves as a foundation, which the R&B performer has reportedly described as his most personal album yet, is expected in stores on September 14 via Atlantic Records. He has already started his first-ever headlining tour to promote the new record. Trey Songz And Nicki Minaj Say “Bottoms Up”

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Trey Songz has premiered the music video, featuring female rapper Nicki Minaj for their rollicking, bass-heavy collaboration "Bottoms Up" on BET's 106 & Park while he hosts the show with Rocsi. The song is the club-ready lead single from his upcoming fourth studio album, "Passion, Pain & Pleasure," set to hit stores on September 14. Two of the hottest things in the industry have teamed up for what might be a contender for the hottest joint of the 2010 Summer.
"Bottoms Up" features a bass-thumping beat, with Minaj's much-needed liveliness and creativity in cartoonish voices and imitable baby-talk, as her voice is distorted in parts to sound slightly tipsy. The track is about the joys of enjoying a frosty beverage at the nightclub of your choosing. It's the perfect anthem for happy hour, the end of a hard day at work or even a stressful situation. Maybe it's the pounding kicks that keep my head nodding. Or, maybe its the infectious hook 'Bottoms Up, Bottoms Up.'
The video, was directed by Anthony Mandler, provides the dark, carnival-esque visuals to the club record, and shows the singer in a funhouse type of environment, trying to wade his way through all of the temptations of fame, while Minaj raps like Anna Nicole Smith. Themes of bondage and voyeurism are teased throughout the video, while quick edits and lighting changes create a frenetic vibe. Songz commented on the video in an interview with MTV stating, "'Bottoms up,' would not follow a traditional 'party song' formula and that he was looking to inject some deeper meaning into his video. I feel, is a very creative video. I think it heightens whatever it is that the song has already — the drive, the vigor, the club anthem, the energy in the record is definitely heightened in the video."
"While the words 'Passion, Pain and Pleasure' immediately invoke sexual thoughts, for me they have become somewhat of a personal mantra because they so accurately describe this time in my life," says Songz. "The passion I have for my art fuels my drive and work ethic, while the sacrifice of my personal life to benefit my career will always be a source of pain. The pleasure that I derive from my work and my accomplishments make everything worth it. When I began conceptualizing the new album, these three words stuck in my head. They completely infiltrated my creative process, so it was inevitable that they became the album title."

Trey Songz Debuts "Already Taken" (Step Up 3D)

Chiseled R&B heartthrob Trey Songz, is back again with yet another video, unveiled the Official music video on 106 & Park for "Already Taken," a single featured on the soundtrack to the dance flick "Step Up 3D," hitting theaters August 6. The soundtrack, produced by Polow Da Don is due on July 20, will also feature songs by T-Pain, Sean Paul, Flo Rida and B.o.B. The song "Already Taken" is a love mid-tempo ballad with a crackling drum beat, then builds steam about not wanting to be a player anymore and being faithful, regardless of the circumstances. This song is a little different from Songz's past tracks, as he seems to be slowly leaving the raunchy sexual sound that helped blow him up this past year to making more romantic, sensual ballads. The song is catchy and should get a lot of play since it always seems like the "Step Up" franchise delivers great compilation soundtracks.

This time he's letting all the ladies know that he's "Already Taken" leaving his playas ways behind even "if you throwing him the booty." "Step Up 3D" is the upcoming third installment in the "Step Up" franchise once again promises plenty of dance moves and an underlying romance to drive the story. The first dance movie to be shot in 3-D, this teen-focused drama stars a bunch of relatively unknown young actors, but then again, so did the first two, which still managed to outperform box-office predictions. Unlike the previous versions, which followed high-school students, this one seems centered on a tight-knit group of New York's street dancers, including Luke (Rick Malambri) and Natalie (Sharni Vinson), team up with NYU freshman Moose (Adam Sevani), and find themselves pitted against the world’s best hip hop dancers in a high-stakes showdown that will change their lives forever.

Trey Songz Ft. Keri Hilson: "Yo Side Of The Bed"

R&B crooner Trey Songz usually leaves the ladies hot and bothered with his steamy videos, but the "I Invented Sex" singer tugs at his fans' hearts in a different way, and he's passing out the tissues to go along with his love and war new video, "Yo Side of the Bed," which is the seventh track taken from Songz's 2009 Gold-certified album "Ready," premiered Wednesday exclusively on Essence.com. The tearjerker co-stars Keri Hilson as his wife and the mother of his infant daughter. The couple's prefect life is turned upside down when she is deployed to war and has to leave him with their daughter.
The Yolande Geralds directed video opens with a question about how long the two have been together with lyrics, "Well, if you count the time it took to get her on a date with me," Songz replies, "three years and seven or eight months." The video then flashes back to when they met: Hilson is jogging by Songz, who is seated on a park bench. Hilson is seen decked out in workout gear and a cap, adorned with the insignia of the US Army.
The track sends out a powerful and emotional message of love. "She's in the military and has been called to go on a war," Songz explained on the character that his collaborator is tackling in the video. Sadness and all the emotional feelings experienced by the on-screen couple, especially Songz when he has to come to terms with her departure, are explored in this new video.
Their lives are turned upside-down as Songz struggles to raise his daughter alone and Hilson visibly is missing her family while she goes into combat. Sadly, there's no happy ending in this tragic tale. This was a well thought out video with a great concept because things like that happen every day, right now. It's sad, but it's reality.

Trey Songz Debuts "One Love" Music Video

Taking scenes from a live show, R&B singer Trey Songz has just been released an official music video for the first single "One Love" on his Facebook page Tuesday. The single, produced by Bryan-Michael Cox and Johnta Austin, is off of Sexbomb's newest acclaimed third studio album "Ready," which was released on August 31, and peaked at No.3 on Billboard Hot 200 and is nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
Songz actually did something different and made the live version of the song into his newly-premiered video, which mostly highlights on the R&B performer as he is singing the song live with his band. I definitely love the concept behind this video. The live set brings and adds a much more intimate feel to the track. Simple and very classy. His vocals sound amazing and has improved a lot of the years. I love the live feel of this video have not seen that in a long time.
Songz is also going to include "One Love" music video in his new mini five-track collection "Up Close and Ready" EP, which is made available for digital purchase on iTunes started on December 8, and it includes live renditions of "One Love", "Can't Help But Wait", "Last Time", "I Need A Girl", and "Gotta Go" in addition to the "One Love" video! The video comes as a treat because it is unexpected. The EP should be a good way for him to prove that he has some talent beyond his six pack abs and hurricane tongue.
Since making his recording debut in 2005, Songz has patiently and artfully crafted some of the most acclaimed and compelling R&B music of the decade. Now, with release his "Ready," he's more than ready to claim his place in the pantheon of R&B greats. "Ready" demonstrates his growth on every front. He's really emerging as the top male in R&B right now.
