LeAnn Rimes has recently partnered with the charity organization called Stand Up For Kids in the promo of her new single "Give," the third single taken from her forthcoming 13th studio album "Lady and Gentlemen," out September 27. The Blue hit-maker is helping spread the word about the homeless problem among youngsters in America by including many of them in the promo for her new song "Give," and the video does well to advance that theme.
Penned by Rimes, the positive ballad about how giving leads to receiving. The talented vocalist wanted to create a video for the song that tied into its message of giving back. "My life is forever changed from this experience," shares Rimes in a note on her website. "One thing they all said to me is no one looks them in the eye when they see them on the streets, so there's a deep loneliness there and a feeling of almost not existing. I will now always look anyone who's homeless in the eye and smile. That smile could make their whole day."
Rimes is spending more time in the Windy City while her husband films a new TV show there, and while it's doubtful she'll frequent the kinds of gritty urban locales she visits in the video, she appears genuinely glad to be there. The kids seem happy she's there, too. The accompanying video shows teens participating from Chicago's Stand Up For Kids organization, whose mission it is to help homeless and street kids, and the 29-year-old musician admits the experience of working with them has changed her outlook on life.
The touching new video opens with the stark message "13 kids die on the street every day" and then shows the homeless teenagers recount their experiences living rough before another message informs viewers that "an estimated 25,000 kids are homeless in Chicago alone."
