Alexis Jordan Debuts Fantasy World "Happiness"

Former America's Got Talent contestant and Limelight Spotlight alum, Alexis Jordan has just premiered a very adorable music video on VEVO for her debut single, "Happiness." The 18 years old powerhouse is the newest face to emerge from the arsenal of talent, who was once told she's an amazing singer by the one and only Simon Cowell, is bringing us to her fantasy world in her new video with fun, colorful animations and, of course, the ethereal dance beat for "Happiness."
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Jordan embodies the new spirit of America with her rich cultural background that includes her father's Puerto Rican heritage and her mother's African American, Native American and European ancestry. On her first single "Happiness," she belts out a dance song about self-joy and empowerment over Stargate's up-tempo track. "I want to be really positive, no cussing, none of that," says Jordan. "I'm a young artist and I want to be a role model. A lot of songs are upbeat, and some are ballads. There's a little bit of that country vibe in it, and a little bit of that reggae vibe. My album really has everything."
After appearing on the Simon Cowell produced T.V. competition, America's Got Talent, and making it all the way to the semi-finals, Jordan racked up millions of views on her YouTube page doing covers of other songs. Stargate, the multi-platinum, award-winning production and writing team, contacted Jordan and flew her out to New York and signed to Jay-Z and super-producing duo StarGate's StarRoc/RocNation imprint distributed through Sony. On her debut single "Happiness," produced by Stargate, who wrapped her powerful pipes in a slick pop sheen, the South Carolina songstress belts out her affection for one lucky boy over an easy, breezy tune designed for the dance floor.
Now that the newest signee Jordan has had the chance to work with some of the industry's most sought after hit makers, she is getting ready to release her genre-crossing debut album which is a universal collection of songs that not only displays her tremendous voice, but also conveys the constructive message she feels is missing in mainstream music today.
